TINA ANDREWS WILL NOT REPRISE ROLE OF VALERIE GRANT. NEW VALERIE TO MAKE HER DEBUT NEXT MONTH.

Although long-time fans of "Days" were hopeful that Tina Andrews would be reprising the role of Valerie Grant, a role she originated in 1975, that will not be the case. With Valerie back on-screen next month, an announcement of who will be playing the role will be coming soon.

She was an African-American character (a doctor) who was involved with Julie's son, David. Valerie was played by three different actresses.

Looks like this interracial relationship brought hate mail before the storyline was ended. I guess after Will and Sonny, they felt it was safe again. So does this mean we will hear about Julie's non-existent son?

Interesting that they are looking for someone in the mid 50's rather than de-aging her. I read that Tina Andrews, who has continued to be successful, would consider the role if asked.

Yes, Tina Andrews said she very much wanted to reprise the role, but apparently Days didn't go with her.

Jason, I know you can't directly reveal the actress who will be portraying Valerie, but will you be giving us any clues as to her identity so we can guess? Thank you!!

P.S. I'm hoping for Debbi Morgan. She's a fantastic actress and watching her as Angie on All My Children, she had a really good dynamic & chemistry with Vincent Irizarry's David Hayward (on AMC), so I'm hoping we'd get some scenes with Valerie and Deimos!!
