I think the rectangular pieces might be little pieces of cheese. They appear to be the same color as the triangle pieces of cheese with the tomato around the outside.

—Spamburgers;
—fried Spam and home fries;
—Spam bisque;
—Spam chowder;
—Spam lasagne;
—Spam on toast.

A few of these might even put a smile on Eric’s face since he’s no gourmet.
