Cook 3 cups macaroni in boiling water until almost done.

Drain macaroni and add 3 T butter while macaroni is hot. (This keeps you from having to melt it in the microwave and have it splatter all over the place.)

Add and stir in:

1 Can Mushroom Soup
1 Cup Mayonnaise
½ Cup Chopped Onion
1 Jar Pimento
Small Can/Jar Mushroom Slices/Pieces – Drained
3 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Mix well and pour into buttered 13x9 baking dish. Cover with crushed Cheez-Its and bake for 30 minutes at 350 or until bubbling around the edges.
 
This sounds like a yummy variation on the ol standby, Macaroni & cheese. You did mean elbow macaroni, right? Am having a frozen braincell moment. By cheeze its....those tiny cheddar cheese crackers?
 
Yep, on both questions. This is very good and we have it every time we have a family get-together. Sometimes, I make it just for myself and it lasts almost a week. LOVE it.
