This was all before my time, and gonna confess.....that when I first began to read, and you were talking of Rick.........my mind went straight to Guiding Light's Rick (the only soap I watched before Days), and I am laughing here, cuz I was thinking, must have happened before I began watching,,,,and the lightbulb went on......sheesh, this is Days.
