Even though Josh Taylor has played Roman far longer, Wayne Northrop will always be the "real" Roman to me.

Not to me....John was Roman....but Josh Taylor (Roman) is it...lol Wayne Northrop is Alex North, & I hated that storyline

I luckily missed most of the Alex North storyline; was only reading the weekly summaries in the newspaper at the time (or SOD when I'd buy it).

Sometimes I still look at Roman and wonder why Sami and Eric are calling Chris Kositchek "dad". LOL

LOL, lucky you. I guess Wayne Northrop (original Roman) really has no interest in returning to acting, loves his ranch, but is good friends with Deidre Hall (Marlena), who talked him into coming back. Too bad she did not (or could not) talk to the writers about what kind of storyline they could write for him back then......it was awful.
