Tyler Christopher (soap actor) has died

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher.
Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment.
Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting. Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him. Tyler was an advocate for better mental health and substance use treatment who openly spoke about his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol. We are beyond devastated by the loss of our dear friend and pray for his children and his father.
 
OMG, another young actor. Just a few weeks ago Billy Miller (from Y&R and GH) died. Matthew Perry this weekend and now Tyler Christopher. How tragic and unbelievably sad.

Tyler Christopher (ex-Stefan) also had another sort of Days connection. He played the little half-brother of Jarod on The Pretender. Jarod was played by Michael T. Weiss, who had played Mike Horton in the 80s.

My heart goes out to his young children and the rest of his family and loved ones.
 
Such sad and shocking news.

He was a gifted actor who was excellent as Stefan DiMera. I am glad we had the opportunity to see him in this role for the short time he was on the show.

My deepest condolences to his family, friends and acting colleagues.
 
I just saw this on Google. So sad. I preferred his portrayal of Stefan. Nothing against the current actor that plays the character, Tyler Christopher just seemed to bring more charisma to the part, and more intensity. He seemed more Stefano-like and seemed more equipped to go toe-to-toe with EJ.
