I think they used the stairs more often in the 90s and 00s when people actually lived above the Pub. Now they just use the doorway next to the stairs which seems to lead to the restroom.

I hope we also get a Marlena/Claire scene tomorrow.

That's probably why I've never seen anyone actually use the stairs. I didn't often get the chance to physically watch Days back then. Pretty much relied on the weekly synopsis in the paper and SOD.
