I have not watched Days in about five years and am not addicted again! However I am wondering where to go to catch up on the last five years and find out where certain characters went, what happened... Etc. I feel lost!

Maybe try looking up various characters on Wikipedia. Some have sparse descriptions, but some are very detailed. Worth a shot.

Shawn and Belle got married and left Salem with Claire to sail the seas (like Bo and Hope did many years ago with infant Shawn-Douglas).
Bo, Hope and Ciara went to spend Christmas with Shawn-Douglas, Belle and Claire (this past Christmas). Hope and Ciara returned to Salem the day after Christmas, but Bo stayed behind to spend time with them, which is how they're explaining his absence right now.
