What (who) makes the most sense?

I'm thinking either Percy or Ben. I'm thinking that EJ's crony's answer to Stefano unbenknownst to EJ. The pair of goons that were to escort Percy to the evidence were ordered to make Percy be the trigger man on Nick if he wanted to get out of this alive. Now if could be Ben in an attempt by tptb to give him a story and explain what happened to him and Jordan. The problem is that a large part of the audience including me couldn't give a crap less about Jordan and would love to see her gone from Salem. But that could be the solution to getting rid of the blandest character since TayHag the Ho. So my request is to make it Jordan. Unfortunately I don't see that happening because she is completely in the dark about everything in Salem.

I too think there is a large possibility that more than one person was shooting. We should be able to at least find out if there was more than one shooter when they remove or find the bullets and determine if they all come from the same gun. Until then, my vote is for the hitman and I'm thinking Gabi at this moment.

Days has no shortage of villains, or bad guys. Kate is in front, with Theresa right behind her. And am sure one or two will be making appearances, even if short term...you know, like Ian MacAllister

I don't think there were 3 shooters. 2 probably but not 3. The 2nd 2 shots were way too close together and sounded exactly alike to be from different people.

Perhaps Ben has shot someone in the past thus making this a walk in the park for him. Pun intended.

Heck, when EJ got shot in the church, there were 3 different guns that fired, all practically the same time. LOL.
But, you know what? I had a thought. What if Caroline took a shot at Nick. She is such a kind woman, who gave Nick a job when he got out of prison, when no one else would touch him. But, sometimes now, she may not be thinking straight.
And maybe she has overheard all these various people who blab away in the Pub, and she knows he is blackmailing them, or giving them all a very rough time.
Plus, Sami is her granddaughter, Will is her great-grandson, and Arianna, her great-great grandson. Sonny is the grandson of her former lover, for whom she still retains a soft spot. & Gabi is the sister of Sami's former husband, a man she loves and trusts.
I still remember she confessed to changing blood test results for Parker. Caroline wants to "make things right", though her ways sometimes are questionable.

I guess when I think of a baddie I think of a Dimera or Kiriakis they murder people about as often as Sami has a change of heart. Curious to see who they bring that is on their level. Kate isn't on par with Stefano or Victor to me and Theresa is minor leagues. Her spoiler currently is she interferes with JJ and Paige.

That may be true, but Kate has personally tried to kill someone a few times. Victor or Stefano use others to do their dirty work, but are/were feared because of it. Theresa has lied, plotted, done drugs, attempted to frame, blackmailed, and attempted to steal money from a large business, and actually DID steal a large sum from an individual.
Just because Kate is sitting on top of a corporation doesn't mean she has not dirtied her hands plenty. Heck, she held Daniel prisoner at one time, Stefano had to clean up that mess for her. Like Stefano, Kate acquires information, the kind she can use to badger someone, get them to do something she wants, etc. She feels her children should do as SHE wants, and has done her best, in her sneakiest manner, to make sure they do.

Kate used to be a great villainess, but her latest scheme regarding Jordan is juvenile. I hope the real Kate comes back. Theresa? As JJ said, she is like Bambi compared to Nicole or any of Salem's other "bad guys".

I want the real Kate back, too. The one who got left on the island and was replaced by this brownie-poisoning, blackmailing, attempted-murdering, hooking impostor. :)

*Back to Topic* Poirot, I like the Caroline angle. I remember when she was revealed to have switched the test results, it was a WHAAA!? moment! But it worked well with the storyline. We don't see her enough to know what she knows!! (Come to think of it, that was the last really good umbrella story Days did. That was front-burner when I started watching again after about 3 years off.)

If there's more than one shooter, since they were so close together it would be virtually impossible to determine which shot killed him (unless one was in the heart and the other two weren't, or something like that)...BUT it might be a way to get each attempted killer off on reasonable doubt for a full murder charge.
