Sorry folks - this is one of those episodes that can't be bunched. Lots of moving around, and big group scenes.

At the Church, Hope and Aiden seal their vows with a kiss (the priest says, "by the State," no name, LOL). Rafe looks on, and Bo goes stir-crazy in his jail cell (scenes intercut with Hope & Aiden kissing), "Noo!!". Julie and Doug rave about Hope & Aiden while Rafe gets up to check on work. Hope thanks everyone for sharing the moment. Shawn-D welcomes Aiden to the crazy family. Victor is texting Kayla, who's minding Caroline. Maggie laments that Caroline's not doing better. At the hospital, Kayla is looking after Caroline, who continues to insist that Bo called her.

In their jail cell, Bo frets and hits the bars while Steve harmonicas the blues. Steve reminds them they're stuck until morning, while the deputy reads a nudie mag. Bo knocks the harmonica out of Steve's hand, Steve is cool, says they'll get home eventually, reminds Bo that Hope's moved on, married or not. Fisticuffs ensue.

Roman tells Hope & Aiden that Caroline's OK, Hope is relieved, now they can relax & enjoy the evening. Meanwhile, Marlena and John watch Lani and Abe (who have stepped aside to talk). Marlena can't shake the feeling that she knows Lani from somewhere. Ciara is now Chase's big sister, by two months, as Hope congratulates their being one big happy family. Lots of cuts to a pensive Aiden before a family hug.

Julie gives Hope (who's talking to Lucas and Jennifer) Marie's congratulations, talks about how Gram & Marie were planning Marie's wedding 50 years ago (Ed. note: to Tony Merritt). Julie looks at "all you Hortons" and tries to get a photo together. Julie brings Maggie into the picture, too. (They don't invite Shawn-D, though.)

Lani and Abe discuss the fact that he's her father, wasn't with the mother very long, she had almost crashed into Abe's car on the way to sing at Marlena's wedding. Marlena and Lani's mother went to college together. Abe wonders why he was never told, what Lani thought of him.

Outside, Joey talks with Theo, he needed a break, hasn't seen him in awhile. Theo is not in a friendly mood, doesn't want to talk about things they liked as kids (they talk about how Theo used to know all sorts of baseball stats). Two kids come along and offer Joey booze.

The party moves to the park, Rafe is entering as everyone else is leaving. He congratulates Hope & Aiden, then leaves. Aiden and Hope agree to steal away home, walk out arm-in-arm.

In their cell, Bo and Steve's fight attracts the guard, whom they hoodwink and knock out, getting the keys from his belt before he falls. They let themselves out and zip off.

Abe learns that Lani's mother was dating her future stepfather by the time she knew she was pregnant. They talk about Lexie and Theo, and how they have to be careful about how they tell Theo, before they tell anyone else.

Theo asks why Joey turned down the booze (worried about Kayla, has to explain his non-literal language to Theo). Theo didn't know he cared about what Kayla thought. Joey doesn't want to cause her any more stress. Theo agrees, he doesn't like getting in trouble. Joey is talking when he passes out, Theo doesn't know what to do, runs into the party.

At the park, Victor is sniping about Jeannie T while passers-by muse about the beauty of the wedding. Another group (Jen, Maggie, Nicole, Eric, and Daniel) are talking about Caroline's vision; Nicole had expected Bo to whisk Hope off on his motorcycle. Maggie says that did happen, recalls Jen's rescue (by Jack, from her wedding to Emilio) by firetruck, etc. Tame wedding by Salem standards, Nicole muses because there was no Sami.

In the Square, Doug and Julie go to get Ciara some yogurt, as she and Chase admire a leather jacket and Ciara talks about Bo. Ciara offers to steal the jacket for Chase, since it's so expensive. She's known how to pick locks since she was 5. Chase plotzes as this notion, won't let her do it.

At Hope's house, Aiden has a surprise in the car for his wife, but she wants HIM right now, that's it. They rush upstairs.

Ciara wants to give the Jacket to Chase as a "welcome to the family" gift. Then buy it, you have the money, Chase says. Ciara says Hope's stingy, doesn't want to spoil her, wouldn't even let her wear "these earrings my cousin Sami bought me aeons ago until tonight." The negotiations are broken down by Doug and Julie's return (Ciara calls Julie "Grandma Julie").

In the park, Adrienne, Maggie, and Jen look through an album Jen made of Salem's great loves. Patch/Kayla, Jack/Jen, Shane/Kim, John/Marlena, Doug/Julie, Tom/Alice. Meanwhile, Rafe asks Roman if he can leave, Kate snarks as Rafe's on his way out. John and Marlena ask Abe about Lani, he says it's a story for another time. Back outside, Theo has brought Lani to help Joey.

Kayla tells another Doctor about Caroline's visions, Caroline tries to explain, the doctor orders more tests, wants Caroline to stay. Meanwhile, Hope & Aiden get hot & heavy.

Jeannie T and Brady look at her phone, she is missing Tate. Brady looks over at Nicole, before suggesting a call to Emma. They leave to do this. A mildly jealous Nicole tells Daniel that Tate's such a sweet little guy, laments the feeling of losing her two babies, no matter how much she loves Parker.

Doug, Julie, Chase, and Ciara are enjoying their dessert, Rafe walks by. Ciara wants to talk about how great it is for her mom that Rafe's on the force, bullies him into going to the fireworks. Then she and Chase talk about whose room will be whose, and how they disliked each other at first. Ciara asks if Chase wants her to steal the jacket, or not. Julie wants to know what's up.

At the hospital, Joey is rushed in, Kayla gets his stats. They rush by the other Doctor, who goes to check on Caroline (who was trying to flee). Once she's alone, she starts removing her monitors.

Brady tells John he's glad the ISA trip could wait, as John & Marlena are enjoying each other. Jeannie T hopes John gets info on his past, so she can explain it to Tate. LA may be weird, but she never met anyone who came back from the dead there. Marlena and John have been strolling down memory lane, cue flashback of Roman/John & Marlena on the docks. They declare their love, kiss; Jeannie reacts.

Julie boots Doug and Chase, wants to talk to Ciara, who tries a pre-emptive strike with Grandma Julie, Julie's too smart for it, she's snowed enough people to know when she's being snowed. Julie recalls attempting to steal a mink stole from Martin's Department Store, recalls Tom & Mickey picking her up from the police station. Julie didn't listen to the grown-ups, took years to turn around. Julie had to learn the hard way, but Ciara has the benefit of Julie's wisdom. What's going on? Julie asks - maybe she can help. Ciara admits to being happy for Hope & Aiden, but the jacket reminds her of Bo.

Hope & Aiden are enjoying marital relations as he thinks about his plot to kill her. Elsewhere, Caroline has made it to the Martin house/reception hall, too late. Bo and Steve rush in.

Julie's talked Ciara down, Doug and Chase return. Ciara and Chase leave, Julie flashes back to Tom & Alice talking about the kids all grown up, not needing them. (Gran had relayed this talk to Julie after she was caught shoplifting.) There's not a day that goes by that Julie doesn't think of them, wishes they were still here. They are, Doug says, they would be--THEY ARE--proud of how Julie reached out to Ciara.

Gabi notes Rafe has returned for the fireworks, Gabi is happy. Victor makes an announcement, wants everyone to kiss at midnight (old Greek tradition). Doug/Julie, Marlena/John, Justin/Eve, Dan/Nicole kiss. Gabi gives Rafe a peck, then gets one from JJ. Lucas/Adrienne kiss, and Eric passionately kisses Jennifer. Ciara gives Theo a peck (Chase looks down during this). Jeannie T doesn't want to mess with tradition, Brady kisses her (slow at first, then a bit more passionately). Maggie calls Victor on making it up, they kiss.

Hope and Aiden snuggle in bed, Hope could stay here for the rest of her life. (Firework effects are visible through the translucent windows.) Aiden has to get Hope's surprise. At the Martin house, Caroline is thrilled to see Bo, laments failing Bo, she couldn't stop the wedding. Bo's upset that Hope's married to another man. Back at Hope's, Aiden has taken the killer supplies out of a bench (either that, or a roomy car).

Caroline and Ciara were my favorite parts of the show today. Caroline made me laugh, then at the end tear up (even though I don't give two hoots about Bo right now). And Ciara! I like the gal who's playing her. It helps that she's very well written, so far.

Edited to add: I think the Abe/Lani situation was lost in this episode. I am glad, though, that she seems to understand that he truly didn't know about her and doesn't hold that against him (so far, anyway). I'd almost rather have seen the two of them bond during the party, then the news come out in a couple episodes from now, when things have calmed down. Poor Theo, he seems so anxious already, I have a feeling the news won't come to him so well.

It was a great show, with many nostalgic comments and such. I liked the photo album Jennifer gave to Maggie with the wedding pictures.

Loved the comment about how Eric broke up Sami's wedding to Austin so many years ago.

Thought it was interesting they had Nicole mention the babies she lost.

I would have liked a few more flashbacks, but I was very pleased with the episode. I hate what's being done to Aiden's character, but it is good, suspenseful TV.

Very clear that "romance" is back in Salem. JJ/Gabi, too cute. I actually didn't  over Brady/Jeannie T, either. Lucas/Adrienne, I could support them again. Justin/Eve, too, if we can't have Justin/Adrienne together. Wonder how the teens will be paired. I could ship (that means support) Joey/Theo, LOL.

Eric laid a big kiss on Jennifer. I could support them, too.

JS - I hope that "babies" comment is leading somewhere, somehow, in some way. It definitely seemed out of place given the theme of today's show, so I'm hoping there's meaning to it. Even if the meaning is just "we like Nicole and she's important to the show's history." :)

It looked like Kate gave Shawn Douglas a kiss (just a friendly peck) during the "midnight kiss tradition".

Interesting that the fireworks were illuminating Aiden in red and blue lights, the same as when Ben is in his apartment and the red and blue light flashes from outside.

I noticed that as well, at first I thought it was a sign, but they did a good job with the different effects. Nice touch. Wonderful direction. (Bad story. LOL)

Eric laying a big smooch on Jennifer was so weird, to me. I really hope they don't go there.
Now we know why he was drinking. He can explain it away when he's sober. It was definitely a drunken kiss.

I am thinking this is a foreshadowing of Dan and Nicole having a baby, or Them trying to have a baby.. DR. Dan will have the skills!!

Also thought it was interesting that with all the people at the park Theo finds Lani to help him with Joey.

Good job, Jason. Glad I did not have to write it up, as I think you probably kept much better track than I would have. Thank you!

So.......Aiden got his "wedding night" first, and then sneaks off to get ready for murder??
And how great was it that Bo & Steve found a magic carpet to get them back to Salem so quick. LOL
"By the powers vested in me by THIS STATE"...........:rotfl::rotfl:
c'mon Days, after 50 years, you don't want to be still holding out on the name of the state, do you?

I thought the red and blue flashing lights were weird too. What is up with them? And yep still HATING the Aiden story. Finally Bo is home! No more ridiculousness. Or wait, probably more ridiculousness with the Bo/Hope story now. I kind of wish Ciara would have mentioned how long Bo has been gone.

Saw the Lani is Abe's daughter coming a mile away. JJ and Gabi were kinda cute. The little peck on the cheek.

Was disappointed no Abby/Ben today.

Sorry, can't agree about the SORASed Ciara. The precocious Ciara as played by Lauren Boles would have been a lot more fun at the wedding than a teen whose willingness to burglarize Janet's Boutique was a lead in for a talk with Julie about her shoplifting incident. On other characters -- 1) Bo and Steve: they're lucky they live in Salem, otherwise they be facing charges for assaulting a police officer and escaping from jail; 2) Aiden: this guy is being written as a weak-willed dolt -- caving in to the DiMeras and then setting out to murder Hope in a way that's sure to end with him dead or in jail; 3) Lani: another member of the surprise children group -- doesn't Salem have enough of these already?; 4) Adrienne: in a town that's often full of exposed cleavage, she rose to the head of the class with the dress that she wore to the wedding; 5) Dr. Salinas: this poor guy is happily roaming the hospital completely unaware that international criminals are after his secret serum. When Bo gets done saving Hope, perhaps he might remember to warn the hapless doctor; 6) Joey: congratulations to this character -- being suddenly stricken with some mystery medical problem means that he's well on his way to becoming a real Salemite.

I thought the opening scenes of the wedding guests clapping and Bo pacing in the jail cell were a really nice touch. And hey Bo and Steve are BACK in Salem!! *blows party favor, throws confetti and pretends to care* On the bright side now that nonsense is finally over and we'll actually see Bo interact with characters that matter instead of an endless parade of day players maybe this baby will finally got off the ground.

Abe and Lani: So Abe found out he has a grown daughter with a woman who has not been seen or probably mentioned on the show in nearly thirty years. All I can say is um...okay? The thing is we hardly know Lani and we rarely see Abe. To be fair we have seen more of him in the last month or so and maybe they'll use him even more now that he has this new family member and they've aged Theo. Maybe this will turn into something good but for right now it's just a big shrug in my very humble opinion.

Hope and Aidan: No words.

JJ/Gabi/and the kiss: Okay I know that it was just a friendly peck on the cheek but great romances have sprung from less. Plus I couldn't help notice the way her face lit up. I'm going to say so it begins.:love::love:

Watch for Joey's "Mystery medical problem" lead to <spoiler deleted in non-spoiler forum>

I also noted the lights coming through the window onto Aiden, but didn't take them for fireworks! I guess they probably were, but all I could think of was Ben's apartment. I also thought it was kind of neat that this new teenaged Ciara seems to be able to do the eyebrow thing like Hope does! I'm going to have to find it and figure out how to screen shot it here. :)

Eric laying a big smooch on Jennifer was so weird, to me. I really hope they don't go there.

Especially since Eric seems to be pining after Nicole still. And, on another thread, I suggested Jennifer and Roman, and was reminded of the age difference (which would not bother me that much, and would make for some great story telling, as this happens in real life), so wouldn't Eric and Jennifer have a huge age gap also ?

The rest of the show was great to me.

JJ and Gabi : Chemistry, indeed. Love it.

Rafe : I see potential for him and Hope eventually. I still love Bo, mind, you, but I could go for a triangle with Hope/Bo/Rafe, Rafe eventually "winning". If Bo does not stay on ( I don't know, speculation on my part).

I love Steve and Bo. I can't help it.

I'm curious about Joey. And I'm relieved he said no to whatever it was the other boys offered. Let's hope everyone believes Theo. Oh, I loved the actor playing Theo : great reactions when Joey fell unconscious. Bravo !

I can still get behind Adrienne and Lucas. They are cute and different together. Why not ? (I now can't stand Justin, anyway.)

Loved the flashbacks, I love the suspense with Hope, Aiden, seriously, good show overall.

@TheWriter I would assume Jennifer and Eric would have a big age-gap, but I think Sami & Eric are supposed to be in their mid-thirties now, and Jennifer probably early-mid forties (I'd say on the lower end). There have been way worse, but I just don't like the pairing in general. Gloomy Eric and (I can't think of any board-appropriate words) Jennifer... Ugh. I'm hoping this is a one-time, drunken on Eric's part- mistake.
