SPOILER !! Week Mar 18

I agree. I am one of the biggest Jack fans out there. I was looking forward to his return. As usual, the writers ruined another character. I hope they get him away from Eve soon. Any character she is involved with becomes toxic and unwatchable. I fast forward scenes with Eve and Jack now. In fact I fast forward scenes with a lot of characters now....Sarah, Rex, Eric, Claire, Haley, JJ, Lani, Eli, Sheila. There are not many characters I enjoy watching anymore.

I really like Matt Ashford, who plays Jack, and think he is doing a terrific job with the lousy material he is given. That said......Jack doesn't much talk when Jen confronts him, or even with Eve. When he does, he is going along with Eve's plans. So, thus, he makes me wonder if this is his amnesia, or if he is onto Eve, and trying to protect his family, eventually taking her down. ???
Really, who would truly vote for a man who cannot remember a thing from his past, especially his family!

I agree..

The other thing I don't like about the Jack story is if he ever regains his memory we are in for a never ending stream of suck up apologies to Jen who has done nothing but be the Archduchess of Haggery herself with her constant "you're a bad man, you used to be a good man, you were worthy of me then, you are not worthy of me now you bad man, you are just a bad bad bad man" diatribes. Jen has issues with forgetting her own failings and when reminded of them her comeback is "I'm a good person a very very good person. I'm the goodest person ever".

It was bad enough to have Jack come back from being held hostage and have to play the dating game to win his wife back because she couldn't come to the realization that he didn't turn his back on her. So again we are going to have to watch a neutered Jack kissing Jen's rear end over and over.

As for his being manipulated by Eve I find it funny that they have only come close to having sex even though they share the same small hotel room with one bed. Are we to believe that? Sorry but I'm not buying it. I'm going to just believe that a man and a woman living together sharing the same bed and getting hot and heavy when not in it have very well boinked while in it. I know we are supposed to suspend belief alot but this is just dumb.

Sarah admits her feelings to Eric. [This is probably that she inexplicably has "feelings" for Mr. Gloom-and-Doom. If so, the sourpuss shouldn't take it too seriously. In addition to having a mouth that's bigger than anything on the average T. Rex, Sarah has feelings that change from moment to moment. Just ask cheating Rexy.]

Ben saves Ciara: [Again?]

Justin has bad news for Haley: [Why is Haley consulting Justin about her immigration status? With the bumbling barrister handling things, even a U.S. citizen whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower might end up being deported back to England.]

Hope and Ted share a warm moment: [:sick: Hope's Ben obsession has clearly affected her taste in men. What's next, she develops a thing for Henderson or Harold?]

So.........Diana poisons Marlena via cookies laced with penicillin (Marlena is allergic), Marlena collapses, but John finds her, gets her to hospital, Kayla, etc. They find the box of cookies in Marlena's office, with note signed Haley. Marlena in coma (of course). A nurse, who let Diana into Marlena's office, is about to spill the beans, but Diana does a threat of some kind, so the nurse claims Kristen was the culprit. Diana sees sad John, thinks Marlena is dead, going to comfort, only to learn it is coma time. (a shortened version of SOD article).
This is so been-there-done-that with a little out-of-character stupidity thrown in.
  • In a town like Salem, why would an intelligent person like Marlena eat cookies from an unknown source?
  • Why would a nurse let somebody whom she doesn't know into a doctor's office?
  • Why do secondary characters in Salem always cave to stupid threats from the villain of the moment?
  • Why would John think Marlena would die? As the past amply demonstrates, Doc Evans is harder to kill than Godzilla. She has more lives that the typical nine-lived cat.
  • Coma time yet again? This serious condition is far more common in Salem than the ordinary head cold. (In fact, when did anyone in Salem ever catch a cold?)

Since Marlena was in a coma already this year, why are we back there? This show had more comas than you can count. It's probably easier to name people who haven't been in a coma or flat-lined.

Attention writers: you're fired!

I hope you are right, Poirot!!!!

From Thaao Penghlis' (Tony) comment in that one interview, sounds like the bulk of the episode is of Tony and Marlena talking. Should be interesting. Trying to think of who else she'd see. Maybe a grown up DJ Craig? Orpheus? Stella Lombard? Maybe 2 new actors to play her parents? I guess their budget wouldn't allow for some CGI (computer generated image) magic to insert Stefano in some manner, unless they used actual clips to show Marlena's past.

Speaking of, and somewhat off-topic, Y&R did a special episode recently to celebrate one star's 40 year milestone. The whole episode was her writing a letter to her grandchildren and they showed a bunch of clips from her first scene to the present, many that haven't been seen since they originally aired. It was such a nice stroll down memory lane. Wish Days would do episodes like that more often (like when they honored Susan Seaforth-Hayes/Julie that one time).
