12-28-2016 - Donuts & Confetti

A quick check in before going back to bed. This crazy yoyo weather has definitely taken its toll on me the last two months. I'm back on the pneumonia meds to make it 8 of the last 9 weeks being sick. I started 2016 being in the hospital for 8 days, and I'm trying my darnedest to end the year without going back in. I'm hoping that the new year will be much better.

Prayers continue for everyone.

Oh Squirrel I am so concerned your doctor hasn't hospitalized you yet. IV meds are required when a virus like pneumonia is this persistent and resistant to healing. I understand you want to avoid hospitalization, but please keep in frequent contact with your doctor. You are in my prayers and I will add you, as Squirrel, to our prayer chain. So sorry your are facing this again. Keep your chin up. Hugs.

Well, JS, I don't know Squirrel as well as you do but I do know how dangerous improperly treated viruses progress. And I care about Squirrel.

First of all, my doctor is a specialist. Chronic pneumonia goes hand in hand with my other health problems. He gives me IVs in his office (a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Community Health site) when he deems it necessary.

Secondly, the hospital is the worst place for me to be unless I'm on death's doorstep. My doctor doesn't even allow me to visit anyone in the hospital because I pick up every nasty thing in there.

Thirdly, my doctor has never allowed me to sit in his waiting room because of the germs. I'm to call when I leave the house (5 minutes from his office), park in the back, and ring the employees' doorbell. They bring me in the back hall, and put me directly in an exam room or his office.

Fourthly, I always wear a mask when I have to go to an outpatient center for tests.
