Good morning. I ran the full diagnostics on my laptop, including individual keys on the keyboard. I had to order a new keyboard directly from HP and it wasn't cheap. I couldn't find one anywhere else, grrr. Doesn't someone here owe me a keyboard? LOL

More rain expected today. We finally have a total of 1in for the month. Yay! I was still worried when I saw several firetrucks rushing by yesterday.

Take care folks.

Good morning. Kt, it's too bad to have to pay so much for a simple wireless keyboard. I have some old ones around here I could have sent you. :rotfl: It's a relief you are getting some rain. I was concerned the fires would get down your way.

I woke up at 5:00 this morning and enjoyed the stars while I lay in bed for over an hour. Funny that the clouds cleared off for a little while. By the time it was daylight, it was completely overcast again. I had the kids turn my bed around when they were here for Thanksgiving, so now I can look out the big fixed windows while I'm in bed. I need to go some places today but different places, different vehicles, so I haven't figured it out yet. Also have to consider things here at home that make me uneasy about leaving.

Hoping everyone is getting off to a good start of a new week.

Good Morning,

Such a busy weekend. Christmas party, doctor's visit (for Gena), babysitting the grandkids, shopping with my mom, church, grocery shopping, laundry, I could go on but I'm exhausted thinking about it. Gena was super excited though as it snowed all day yesterday, giving us about 3 inches of heavy wet snow. I imagine most of it will melt today as the temperature should get to the upper 30's.

Today I go back to court for back rents and damages for the evicted tenant. Part of me wants to just skip it and let the whole thing be over, but I'll go, just to make sure everything is wrapped up properly.

KT- good luck with your keyboard, computer parts are way to expensive.

OC - best wishes for smoothly run errands, although from the sounds of it, they will be anything but easy.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning ...werid here, as it is grey, overcast, sun tries unsucessfully to break out. Maybe going to snow, maybe rain instead, have both in forecast, it is 29°. I have already been to town with my brake light problem, but since it did not do it at all Sunday, or this a.m., plus wet roads made the underside all wet, so could not check for leak in brake lines. However, they added some brake fluid, so if it happens again, am to bring it in, they can then tell if the fluid level has gone down in reservoir. Bad news is all 4 brake pads are worn down, so that means they will need replacing soon. Ugh.

Well, I have tried to reach squirrel, no luck. She has not been online either, so I sent a message to her friend Jim this a.m., have not heard back, but then he has not been in the best health himself. Hope we hear something.

Good morning everyone. Winter has hit Calgary. It was cold this morning but I was bundled up pretty good.

Mandamiee - Good luck with everything today. I hope it goes smoothly.

OC - I have not reviewed the last week or so posts but I hope your foot is doing better, hope your kids spoiled you over thanksgiving.

KT - I feel your pain. We've had to upgrade our computer for while now but haven't gotten around to doing it as it is expensive. I just use my tablet nowadays.

WOW!! I had the best trip to Ottawa last week to have a reunion with a friend from Levis, Quebec and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We all used to work together 19 years ago and my two friends hadn't seen each other since. It was a reunion and visit that still has me grinning. WE did it all. Wednesday we met up at the Casino and caught up til 3am.

Thursday we went to Parliament and watched Question Period with all the Member of Parliament, after that we went to see the Ottawa Senators against Philadelphia Flyers (Hockey game). Friday we went to the Diefenbunker, a 4 story facility built underground in the 1950's in the event of a nuclear attack and also named after the Prime Minister at the time, whose last name was Diefenbaker, after that the Museum of Civilization, dinner and a night of Karaoke.

We got to bed at 4am then I hit the airport to fly back to Calgary. So many laughs and stories reminiscing about good times, catching up on each other's families. We'll definitely be doing this every 3 years or so.

Now.......back to reality and work. Have a great day everyone.

Morning all.

I love my car, I do, but I hated the maintenance aspect of keeping it up. Aalways when it seemed that there was something else I'd rather spend the money on. But I'm a bit picky about that so things get fixed, sooner rather than later.

Manda, hope everything goes well at the courthouse today, and you get your back rent and any damages. That would be a great Christmas present for you this year.

I hope we hear from RS soon. Thanks, Poirot, for trying to contact.

Muzz, it does sound like you had a great mini vacation. Yes, hate that back to reality bit.

OC, good luck with the drives and leaving home.

Off to another meeting. Short week this week. Have to go to Orlando for a work thing, so only Monday through Wednesday work at the desk this week.

JS & Robin - I don't think we'll ever get a penny, and all in total when I did the calculations (3 hours for cleaning, paint supplies, lost wages, court costs, and back rent) it all comes to about $317 I need to redo my sheet as a I forgot to figure in the actual painting time. So maybe $360 when I add the time to paint in. Only 2 rooms have smoke stains and smells, so I won't try to claim for the whole place, although my husband thinks I should.

Muzz - Glad you had a wonderful time

Poirot - I heard from Squirrel Saturday night if that helps. How long as it been since she checked in? Your thin brake pads could make the fluid levels drop to the point that the brake light would come on. I'm guessing that's what caused the problem.

Winter has arrived here also. Started off with hail yesterday which turned to a heavy snow storm. Bitter cold this morning - 20 degrees and we're all the way up to 30 right now. Supposed to get more snow Wed, Thurs, & Fri. Also, not supposed to hit above 30 the rest of the week. I can handle all this as long as we don't get the winds!

Hope RS checks in soon.

Shan

I also heard from RS Saturday night. I was thanking her for a package she sent me. I'm sure she is drained from her pneumonia. Maybe she'll feel like checking in soon.

Kt, it's too bad to have to pay so much for a simple wireless keyboard.

Actually, this is the built-in keyboard on my laptop. It has to be the exact part to work. It cost twice as much as an external wireless keyboard, grrr. I'm still looking for someone here who made me laugh and spit my drink on it, lol. Actually, I didn't do that, so I don't know what is wrong. The malfunctioning keys are g, h and backspace. Backspace isn't near the others. Oh, well.

It was very foggy here until about 10. Sun came out this afternoon. It's going to get cold
this week. Busy morning baking, cleaning, washing clothes, dog walking. Monday
is the only day I'm home.

kt, sorry to hear about your keyboard. Can you buy a regular one and use with your laptop?

Muzzaman, I'm glad you had a good weekend.

manda, good luck on getting something from the old tenant.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Kat, I'm using a regular wireless keyboard now. I won't be able to use the laptop efficiently on its own, though, without a functioning built-in keyboard. I guess I could copy and paste the g, h letters, lol. I'd just have to highlight and cut anything I couldn't backspace to correct. Naw! LOL

Good evening all,

Happy belated birthday to Shanrick! Hope it was wonderful yesterday!

Today and yesterday have been pretty cold, maybe 50F but with a breeze and some clouds it makes it feel Arctic. It also rained last night, so that didn't help. Yesterday was a busy day at work (7 hours). Today I had a Spanish quiz, which I think I did well on.

I now have to study for the oral exam/interview on Wednesday. I also had a meeting with my teacher on my senior thesis project. I got an A on the latest paper for it! He told me how surprised he was that I'm so well-versed and knowledgeable about Middle Eastern politics and history (my project is on Kurdish independence), and that he rarely ever gives As to students. Still got a lot of work to do, but it made me feel good. Got home and walked the dog, and now I'm about to catch up on Days.

Hope everyone has a nice and warm night!

Wow, Degrassi, way to go!

Now I'm worried about Squirrel. Have been thinking of her throughout the day.

Went in the car to Wal-Mart. Got a prescription and shopped, then stopped at the cell phone place and got something worked out on my hot spot. So glad I got there when I did, as it saved me over $100. Also glad my broadband has been working very well for several days so I haven't needed to use the hot spot at all. I took the husband with me to town so I didn't have to worry about him. I did have to get him back up the wheelchair ramp for the first time since I hurt my foot three weeks ago though, and that was a challenge, to say the least, but hey, I made it and didn't have to call my niece for help!

Muzz, thanks for asking about my foot. Overall, it has improved but it still has a ways to go. I never dreamed it would take so long. Your trip/visit/reunion sounded like you had such a great time. Good for you!

Kt, I didn't even know a keyboard on a laptop could be replaced. Wow!
