I think the writers will reveal the baby as Chad's, hopefully soon, so he won't be quite as premature as they originally thought. I am really hoping we can put Ben far behind us and soon.

As far as revealing the baby's true paternity soon (if Ben isn't really the father), keep in mind that Mike Horton's paternity didn't come out until he was a teenager (even though the audience knew the truth from the beginning).

Yep, but not nearly as long as Mike Horton. And with Claire and Zack, the audience didn't know for sure until the DNA tests were back. But with Mike, the audience knew from the get-go that Mickey was sterile, and only Laura and Tom Horton knew that fact.
