Days move Peacock - Corday Interview

Okay so they knew it would be moving in September to Peacock when they signed the two year contract.
It won't be my mother's Days coming this February. It hasn't been my mother's Days since the 2000's..... and the loss of intelligent writing.
Because there won't be Network constraints, we will be only 4 minutes of commercials. Joy we get more story....
They have filmed all the way through to February....

I feel every so much better hearing from Corday..... :sarcasm:

It's less than a month for the move. I haven't seen any promos about it. Are they going to Tweet people how to
gain access? How are viewers going to know how to gain access if they don't have internet?

He also said Canada gets the show a day ahead. That's not true anymore.

He mentions in Feb they can do and say things more on Peacock than NBC. I wasn't happy with Beyond Salem 2
when people said certain words. I wonder Corday has a Twitter account so people can let him know how they feel.

I want to know WHEN it will drop in EST. It drops at 8 pm now, though sometimes it is not there on Peacock at that time. I used to be able to watch the same-day's episode later On Demand, sometimes at 7 pm, though sometimes not until the next day. While I am planning to subscribe to Premium again, I will also rely on this board for recaps and thank you, in advance, for however that will pan out. I will really miss watching NBC on my lunch hour on the TV (though usually work at the same time) and be forced to watch on my computer, where I "live" all day, as it is. It galls me that the powers that be knew about this move but never revealed it until now, leaving people scrambling to find a way to stream.

So, Corday doesn't know Canada no longer is a day ahead..........and hasn't been for quite some time. Gosh, I used to get it and know darn well it's been more than 5-6 years! Maybe there is a part of Canada that still does????

There is supposed to be some way to get streaming onto the TV but have no idea of how. MY TV has one streaming channel, and it is not Peacock, some weird name, and I checked it, no programming, just documentary stuff or "how to".
Well, as expected, the "happy train" is starting to board.......and other cast & crew will be hopping on soon.

They didn’t know this was coming. That’s just disingenuous. It might have been in the contract as a possibility, but this was a sudden decision. You know that because: “We’re going to do some PSAs”? When? The changeover is in three weeks. Three weeks to teach the people who don’t stream at all how to find the show. How? Online videos for non-online videos watchers? In a month?

If they’d known, it would been announced and immediately proceeded by a PR plan to educate and build excitement. We got two weeks (three?) of silence.

Also, if this date were planned, they wouldn’t be talking about how they’ve currently filmed through February and after that, you’ll see a shift. They would have already filmed shows constructed for the new format that would air before the end of the year.

What he’s saying about streaming probably makes sense for the show long-term even though they will lose some people who don’t do any technology. But they’ll need to do more to adapt to streaming than make a longer show with more sex and cursing. It sounds like they’re shifting to more of a nighttime soap vibe with a daytime soap schedule. All of that might work if they upped production value. The cheapness of the sets and wardrobe look one way as a daytime show. It looks different once I start comparing it to a Shonda Rimes show like Gray’s Anatomy or (so laughable) Bridgerton—even if I lower my expectations because I watch a show a day. Unless they have budget, I still think they need to do fewer shows that are higher quality.

Should have said DISH has one streaming channel........I just checked......and it is Netflix.......and when you go to the channel, it asks you to sign in, as..........yes, it is separate, so costs extra $$$, just like Peacock does. Next time my son comes to town, will ask him about all this.

Meanwhile, I don't ever believe a word Corday says. I agree with TinaY..........If Days knew of this sudden change, they would have already filmed accordingly ...longer episodes allowing for only 4 minute commercial times, instead of the current 22 minute commercial time. And it is why the silence thus far, they are really still getting their ducks in a row for this change. And this is all NBC's doing, and while I watch the news, & sometimes the shows that come on after Days....I think I will be tuning elsewhere.

By the way, I thought I had read somewhere that the show would come on in the morning, so those with Peacock could watch it anytime........but honestly, I have never seen anything streaming, so have no idea. I probably won't be seeing it when it switches.

With the almost porn like Days we have now, the line "we will be able to say and do more now that it's on Peacock" has me a bit concerned. I remember my mom watching Days and I'd be playing at her feet in the living room. I certainly won't be watching Days with my children in the room. And if it gets more like porn than it is now, I'll stop watching all together.

It's a sad day for sure, as it seems Days is interested in a new audience that doesn't include those of us that have watched for years. I wish success for each of the actors on the show, but I'm certainly not happy about these new developments and the comments listed in that article.

It's almost insulting to long time viewers.

I am also thinking that Corday doesn't even know Canada is no longer a day ahead, and i also am thinking Corday may not even know where Canada even is!

There must be a lot of people who don't care what is on TV. My daughter posted about a commercial she saw for a razor for MEN'S personal area. We get a lot of channels, but the stuff on them isn't for me. Also, my son has Dish and has several streaming channels in addition. (He makes good money! LOL)

There's been a commercial for a shaver that's made for a woman's private area that's been running for at least 5-6 years now. It has girls shaping little topiary trees that are in front of them, at about bikini level. Golly, how clever.
