Days of Lives - Fri., May 12, 2017

She truly is downright horrible to him.
I would not mind if Eric escaped without her. I know he had to try to get her, or Brady would have been a jerk to him (again); but she has really gone off the rails.
I'm glad Gabi called Lucas to take care of Ari before she left town. We found out today
Eduardo took a plea and will be in jail two years.
A rare bright spot in today's episode. I do like Gabi's motivation for going to Greece, though, even though I wouldn't mind the dumb triple-family war being in the past. Meanwhile, if Eduardo took a plea and will be out in two years, hopefully we'll be seeing him by July sweeps.

Let's see, Deimos is there via a private chartered jet.......Eric via Brady's private jet, and the others via Titan jet. (Are Sonny & Paul on board? Seems Eli, JJ, Lani & Gabi were the ones seen, or were they all in the scene when Gabi comes out?

A cab taking too long (where was so important that he had to hurry to?) is not a reason to get behind a wheel drunk. Making the decision to get pie faced and drive is not an accident. I agree he is a good person, I agree he should be forgiven, when should that be, varies.

I agree with you. My point was he's not responsible for all the bad things that have happened in Nicole's life. She's made plenty of her own bad choices.

Yep, true. Except that Daniel died just under a year &1/2 ago, & Nicole supposedly found love again, was very happy with her new man.

And this man risked his life to rescue her, took on a much bigger and stronger man, got her baby to safety, and right now has his life on the line. O.K. she wants to rip into him.........the time to do it is AFTER they are all safely away.

Yep, this is first time she sees him since his release, and all the bitterness, anger, frustration came pouring out.

However, Eric is not responsible for Nicole losing custody of Holly. Nicole did that herself. Oh, yeah, almost forgot how in love with devious Deimos she was, refusing to see that he was causing harm to so many. Deimos tried to bribe a judge, thus a new judge saw things the same way Chloe did.

Do I think Chloe was wrong, and was being selfish. Yes. As Brady pointed out to her, she had agreed to be a surrogate, and had agreed to turn the baby over when it was born. That was her agreement, and she reneged. She claimed because of Deimos, but that doesn't exist. And yet, she persists. And because of her insistence on trying to keep Holly for herself.....this whole sequence of events might be laid at her feet.

Well, maybe Nicole will realize that now that she has spit out all that venom, she can concentrate on trying to outsmart Xander, cooperating with Eric, and getting away.

The ease with which amateur hero Eric has been able to access both Xander's island and his villa raises questions about the ability and professionalism of his security team. Does their schedule go something like this?

Morning
The boss is around -- stand at a door and look alert.
The boss has gone to town -- head to the taverna for lunch and some retsina wine.

Afternoon
The boss is back and arguing with Nicole -- time for a nap.
The boss is up and about -- patrol the beach and watch for intruders.
The boss is arguing again with Nicole -- OMG, it's an intruder -- got to beat him up and lock him in a room.

Evening
The boss is having dinner -- relax on the beach and use binoculars to check out hotties on nearby yachts.
All the inmates of this asylum are asleep -- time for one of the boss's cigars and a glass of ouzo.

Poirot, I agree with everything you said; however, from Nicole's point of view, this is still all fresh to her as far as talking to Eric about what he did. The fact that she threw everything but the proverbial kitchen sink at him is unfortunate, but understandable. When cooler heads prevail, I daresay she will end up apologizing to Eric for everything she said.

The scenes with Nicole and Eric were intense. Her words were harsh and filled with anger. But the actress was fantastic at delivering her performance as always. I do believe Nicole's emotions are real and she does a very good job at telling Eric exactly how she feels about him. By the end, Eric realized no words or actions would ever make a difference in taking Nicole's pain away. Quite sad and depressing for Eric. I felt bad for both characters.

She cracked him across the face pretty good too.

Eric has been filled with remorse & self loathing for a very long time. He already felt he did not deserve to get the early release from prison, and thus lived out in the country, telling no one, seeing no one. He cannot forgive himself, and doesn't expect forgiveness from anyone else. It took a great deal to get him to finally come back to Salem, knowing he will be reviled by many. And he only did so because he would be in a job where he would be able to help others (and Eric has always done that).

Nicole, meanwhile, has had two lovers, had a friend be a surrogate so that Nicole would have a baby born to her and Daniel, was engaged to one man, had the full and complete friendship and support from another, who even left family & friends in order to help her, supported her financially, protected her, and took a bullet in trying to prevent more harm to her and her baby. That man is nearing death's door.

And now another man has come to Nicole's aid, and also could be losing his life because of it.

I do wish Nik could just sit for a bit and contemplate what her life has been like since Daniel died, in comparison to Eric's. I do understand all her anger, and her need to rake him over the coals, but she went overboard, in my opinion.

While I thought the slap in the face was too much, especially since Eric was just unconscious (and frankly, if a man can't hit a woman, then a woman shouldn't have the right to either), I can understand Nicole's reaction to him.

Right now, lashing out is the right word. She feels Eric is responsible for destroying the life she always dreamed of and she never got. Then again, Daniel did die because of Eric. Eric did drive drunk and he did kill Daniel. Nobody else is to blame but Eric. So Nicole is blaming him. And if it was the other way around, nobody, and I mean nobody, would ever give a chance to Nicole, had she driven drunk and killed someone. Heck, she is still called a "porn star".

I expect that, after she calms down, Nicole will tell Eric "I don't hate you". (Because that's the last thing Eric said on Friday.) And she will eventually forgive him. But right now, she is grieving so much, she is suffering, she is not thinking clearly.

And I disagree with the fact that Eric has always helped. I'm sorry, he too was very cruel to Nicole, more than once. He actually accused her of rape and would not believe she was innocent until he saw the infamous video of him and Kristen. Then he toyed with Nicole, again and again. He is far from perfect and his constant wallowing in self pity (granted he's getting better) was just that : self pity.

I like everything you said, Writer. Nicole is not thinking straight, and yes that is a flaw of hers. She has done tons wrong, yes, and she has been held accountable for every single one, some for many many years. Heck, she has been held accountable for things she didn't do even. Her wrongs do not give Eric a free pass.
Brady is the one who decided to run away with her. She told him not to. Nicole is in no way to blame for Brady's actions and decisions, nor for him being on death's door. Nor is she to blame for Eric coming to Greece and being in jeperady.

I think this is a retcon. I remember her telling him to take a cab and not to drive but I'm almost positive he called the cab himself. The reason he drove was because the cab was taking too long.

Neither of them called the cab. From the Dec. 31, 2015 summary "Eric plans to leave, Nicole begs him to call a cab, but can't deal with him directly because Jeannie T needs her. Nicole goes off with Jeannie, and Eric drinks one of the coffees the bartender brought over. Later, the bartender asks if he can call Eric a cab, Eric says, "Yeah, thanks, I appreciate it," but then stumbles off after finishing his coffee." Later in the same summary "Eric climbs into his car, fumbles with the keys. "Hour for the taxi, give me a break," he mutters, as he adjusts his mirror."

It was too much of a stretch when Nicole said Eric was responsible for her losing Holly to Chloe. Several people had a part in that. Eric was not one of them. Nicole did play a part in it, by her refusal to see Deimos' evil side, despite warnings.

I suspect that Nicole feels that if Daniel was still alive, then Nicole would have still been with Daniel, and that Chloe never would have tried to get custody of Holly. Even if she had tried, the odds would have been much more in Nicole's favor, what with the biological parents being married and in a stable relationship. So, yeah, I can see her blaming Eric for that too. Especially as upset as she is right now.
