Replays of closing scenes from yesterday. The efforts to save Sonny's life continue in the operating room, while Paul insists on giving additional blood. Will is comforted by Victor in the chapel, as he sobs about Sonny. I don't know why everythere isn't together, and they do jump around a bit.
Abby & Ben are dining in the square, Chad comes up, has found a super lawyer for Ben, who is gives Chad a hard time about first getting him arrested, then finding a lawyer. Chad did wrong, admits it, has not talked at all to Jordan, is trying to help in the best way he can, since the cops refuse to drop the case. Ben spots Marlena, and goes to talk to her.
He has not been able to reach his dad, she says he missed an appointment, and she cannot get in touch either. She gets a phone call, it is Abe, and next all four have rushed to the hospital.
There is much tension in the O.R. as they cannot seem to find the source of the bleeding, and need more blood. They know it is not an artery, and finally find a slice in the spleen. Paul has given more blood, is rather woozy, Maxine gives him a couple of juice packets, tells him to rest. Paul dreams of when Sonny suggested they get married, only this time, Paul says yes, they should. He wakes up, muttering "that is what I should have said".
Nicole comes into the lounge area, nicely asking Melanie for a confirmation that it was Sonny who was stabbed. Melanie has to first rake her over the coals, but Nicole talks of what a nice guy Sonny is, she would never want to hurt him in any way. Melanie relents, begins talking of Sonny, starts crying on Nicole's shoulder. Brady comes in, Melanie assures him all is o.k. Nicole was helping keep her company. He is unable to find Victor, but Mel hasn't seen him.
Victor is still in the chapel, where Damon finds him, Victor wants Damon to find who did this, and he wants him DEAD. He mentions the ring, watch and wallet being taken, Damon will check pawn shops, etc. Vic doesn't know about the ring, but just gifted Sonny with the watch for Christmas. Damon will check everything. He leaves, Maggie comes in, and both go to the lounge to join Mel & Brady, but Vic spots Nicole, and is not pleased. Brady assures him all is o.k., Nicole leaves.
Adrienne is at a loss, should call Alex & the twins, but what could she say. Lucas is standing by, Will comes rushing in, sees tears, thinks the worst, the assure him no. Finally Kayla & Daniel come out, she into the nurse's station area, he into the lounge. Anxious family & friends are waiting for each to say something. both Kayla & Daniel, with their solemn faces, take their time (yep, commercial break) but when we come back, the good word is that Sonny will be o.k. Is in recovery. Will wants to see him now, but has to wait til Sonny is moved to his own room, and Sonny will be mostly sleeping anyway. Will doesn't care.
Adrienne is crying, so relieved. Justin calls, Adrienne tells him what is going on, is very short and clipped, says goodbye, tells Lucas Justin is coming home. Lucas comes up to Will, handing him his phone, tis his mother. Will says she wanted to come, but he told her not to take the kids out of school. He figures this is too close to what happened to EJ, and it is better she stay in CA. Will was so happy, earlier and glad his gramma Marlena was there.
Nicole returns to the lounge to tell those there that there will be no tabloid story about Sonny, at least not from her. Victor thanks her, as does Maggie. Nicole leaves.
Brady & Melanie go home. Ben & Abby back to dinner. Chad is leaving, runs into Paul who is leaving. Paul is a bit unsteady, explains he just gave blood, is o.k. Chad mentions his business partner has been in surgery, was stabbed. Paul is sorry, figures it is Kate Roberts. No, it is his partner from the Club TBD...Sonny Kiriakis. Cue Paul to become even more unsteady. They exchange a few more words, Chad leaves. Paul tells himself he has to see Sonny.
Abe is questioning Victor about seeing Sonny 10 minutes before he found him stabbed, but Victor can offer nothing except that Sonny was in a big rush, would not stay and talk, dashed off.
Kayla & Daniel both give credit to Maggie for staunching the bleeding, enabling Sonny to be alive when he reached the hospital.
Ben & Abby talk about why Ben wanted to see Marlena, both thinking it unusual that no one has heard from Clyde.
Brady & Melanie talk about their date (sorry, I did not catch all this) but they mention wanting to go to a hotel. Next they are in a bedroom, and going at it like rabbits. (This is near the very end of the show, in case anyone wants to bypass it.) Kissing, her blouse comes off, his shirt, into the bed, and I swear Eve's moaning music is playing. More kissing, writhing.....sort of soft porn.
Will has been allowed to go see the sleeping Sonny now. He goes in, and immediately begins a long, heartfelt conversation, one sided, yes. All about how they cannot do without him, how could he raise Arianna by himself, she can't vacuum, he can't match socks, and goes on in that vein. His voice is breaking, cracking, as he tells Sonny how much he loves him, and will never ever take him for granted again. He is first and most important, not work or anything else. NOTHING will ever come between them again.
Outside the door, there is Paul, his hand on the door knob, turning it.
