Lani & Eli at the cop shop, going over files, her shift is over, his still goes a couple hours. He talks of giving her the key to his place, having her wait for him til his shift ends. She teases him a bit, kiss, she mentions them being only ones there, wondering if anyone checks security cameras. He says only if there is an incident. More kissing, she smiles, will be in his room when he gets off.

Replays of Haley telling JJ she is marrying Tripp, and Tripp telling Claire. Long conversations, as expected between the couples. JJ trying to convince Haley not to do it, he cares for her, but she is adamant, suspicion will follow them, they yak about Jack, his betrayal, JJ never forgiving him anyway, he knows Tripp doesn't care for her like he does, big kiss. Haley finally breaks it off, no she won't change her mind, she is marrying Tripp. She leaves. Meanwhile, Claire is at first disbelieving, then critical, how could Tripp care so much for her as he says, then marry Haley. She talks of her hundreds of thousands of followers, how she has talked of him, he says “so...we broke up...” She is not taking it well, but he really wants her support. She grabs a sofa pillow, holds it to her face as she screams into it, puts it back, and tells Tripp of course she will support him. They kiss, and in comes Haley, as Claire half sings Here Comes The Bride.

Brady & Gabi are drinking toasts to the success of their plan. Leo bought it hook, line and sinker, so while Stefan was concentrating elsewhere, Brady swooped in, bought the company DiMera was interested in. They laugh about it all, Gabi agreeing to keep on helping Brady. She is tickled that they undoubtedly got back at Leo, as well, after what he did to Sonny & Will.

Stefan is at the chess table (and it is new Stefan, Brandon Barash, who does a fantastic job) as Leo walks in, commenting on the boarded up windows. Stefan is not answering, or even looking at him. Leo is doing his usual non-stop babbling, decides to fix himself a drink. Stefan gets up, grabs Leo by the throat, reaming him out for double crossing him. Leo is defensive, Stefan says the info Leo got was fake, no such company, and Stefan lost the one he wanted, as Titan bought it. Leo shifts the blame to Stefan, should have done his own homework, not his fault. Now he wants another chance, no dice, Leo is convinced he can make this right, find out what went wrong, who blabbed to Brady. Stefan figures he already knows.

John is with Marlena, fussing over her blankets, making sure she is o.k. Yes, she is. Diana comes in, evidently at John's request. He pulls out a pic of Kristen, wonders if Diana saw this woman when she was in the hospital, the day Marlena was poisoned. Diana does her usual evading, comments she thought the nurse already identified Kristen. John just hoped for confirmation. Diana can't recall seeing this person, John puts pic back in pocket, tells Marlena it was worth a shot. Diana asks if they got the fingerprint on the IV bag done yet. No, they will be working on it in the morning. She leaves, John goes to walk her out, telling her at the nurses' station he appreciates her support in all this. He leaves, she wonders if she wiped her fingerprints off the IV. Has to make sure.

Leo comes in to see Brady, accusing him of betraying his own brother, and more blather in the same vein. Brady is calm, doesn't know what he is talking about, but finally referring to Leo attempting to betray him. Leo claims he needed the money/job from Stefan, Brady would not hire him. Brady says Leo in a con artist, is what he does, and if he needs money, go out get a regular job, like others do. But then he can always go back to being an escort, tho perhaps should lower his fees, since he is getting a little long in the tooth. Leo snidely talks of Brady born into money, billionaire grandfather, yada, yada. He now is going to see our father. As Leo is walking out, Brady comments, more likely his checkbook.

Diana walks into the room, introducing herself to Eli & Lani, Diana, John's friend. She says she is a reporter, used to own the Spectator, now owns paper in her hometown, writing a piece on the manhunt for Kristen. She hates what was done to John & Marlena, and the more publicity the better, right? She pulls out her recorder, Eli & Lani agree to the interview, she nears the end, talking of them now working on the fingerprints on the IV bag. Yep. Eli asks Lani to be sure and lock that IV bag up, before she leaves. Diana is readying herself to leave, but hears.

Stefan is with Gabi, figures she is the one who told Brady about Leo spying for Stefan. She denies it, is pretty flippant. Stefan warns her that while she got Shin to stop him from taking apart her company, Shin & the board won't hesitate to throw her out if she is betraying the company. He mentions Ari living at Brady's house, & how he would not want Ari to lose her mother.....again. She raises her hand to slap him, he grabs her arm, she slaps him with the other hand. Stefan tells her to never slap him again, or she will be sorry. Gabi gets up close, saying not to ever threaten her, or her daughter again, or Stefan will be the one terminated.

JJ is in the square, drinking, Lani comes by, she is sorry for what happened with Haley. JJ says he wanted to help her, but Haley decided on something different .

Leo barges into Marlena's hospital room, Brady right behind him, Leo looking for John. Where is he?

In the dark, Diana fumbles a bit, but gets into the office. After closing the door, she turns on the light, and is startled to see John sitting on the side of the desk. Hello, Diana...........looking for this? As he holds up the sealed IV bag.

LOL.....and THAT was the way to end a Friday episode!

Just my personal opinion....but new Stefan is terrific, & to me, makes a better character.
But then, the storyline he came in on is better, as well.

I am wondering if perhaps Eli & Lani were filled in on the suspicions...so sort of "helped". ??

I think Eli and Lani were in on it. Why they let her hear about IV bag. All I can say is thank god! I had a feeling when John was talking about "she" and "her" he meant Diana. Glad he did!

Haley marrying Tripp is so so stupid. What does Claire have up her sleeve? That won't get Tripp in trouble too!!

New Stefan is different. Should be good. I keep waiting for one of his and Gabi's fights to end in a kiss. Ya know it's coming.

Not even gonna comment on the teeny bopper stuff or Haley.

I like Gabi's dynamic with both Brady and Stefan. And the new Stefan seems to be a hoot! As for Diana, I wonder if the Eli/Lani interview is as Macgyver'sWife stated: were they in on the plan with John? That whole part was nicely done today.

Brady says Leo in a con artist, is what he does, and if he needs money, go out get a regular job, like others do.
Who is Brady to talk? Enough already!
After closing the door, she turns on the light, and is startled to see John sitting on the side of the desk. Hello, Diana...........looking for this? As he holds up the sealed IV bag.
Finally, the Salem brain makes its appearance. Man I was thinking it was a victim of cast cuts.

I really hope that Haley sees through Claire's fakeness and doesn't do something stupid like ask Claire to be her maid of honor. If so, here's how I see it going:

Haley will be so touched and thankful. Tripp won't know for sure what to make of it, until Claire assures him she's fine with him saving his friend.

Then she'll be oh so excited about planning her wedding (because you want to have one to make it all seem real to everyone), she won't have to do a thing, etc. Then everything will be sabotaged - the dress, the preacher, the paperwork... and an invitation would be extended to anyone who could legally arrest Haley for immigration fraud, right before the wedding can start or, in only the style Days can do, when asked if anyone has objections someone will walk in and announce that she's under arrest.

But Claire is short-sighted... she won't realize that Tripp will end up in jail too for this. Willing participant, accomplice, etc. after all.

That's my prediction.

Just my personal opinion....but new Stefan is terrific, & to me, makes a better character.
Agree. I didn't have high hopes for the NuStefan Zero, but he did well today, although he looks too young to have been spawned by Vivian Alamain. (Of course age discrepancies are par for the course in Salem.) Elsewhere, it was a case of dumb, dumber, and dumbest.

Dumb: Leo for sniffing around the DiMansion looking for a payday. He's risking injury if and when NuZero gets around to pitching him headfirst out the front door.

Dumber: Diana for breaking into Hope's office. Ordinarily, this would be risk-free at the porous police headquarters, but she should have realized that she'd aroused John's fine-tuned b/s detector by hanging around the hospital way too much oozing insincere concern about Marlena. The silver fox's instincts are not to be underestimated.

Dumbest: Trippy for confiding all the details of his plan to save Haley to scheming, jealous Claire. How much longer than a Salem second will it take for the YouTube flop to run to ICE or Eve Donovan?

It all sounds wonderful except the Tripp marrying Haley storyline. Really? In what universe would any girlfriend be ok with her boyfriend marrying someone else? And when you throw Claire into that mix, it’s going to get ugly fast. Can’t wait to sit down and watch the episode though!

Thanks, Poirot.

Another long day in Salem.

So the windows are boarded at the mansion. Hopefully, no one will
try to shoot Chloe for awhile.

I think Eli and maybe Lani were in on with John. John should have said
check mate when Diana turned on the light.

It was funny when Leo was mad at Brady for what he did and Leo ran
to tell daddy John how his brother took his toy away. LOL

Nice to know you can watch "This is Us" in Salem.

The stuff with Haley/JJ/Tripp/Claire is annoying. Hopefully, Claire won't light up
the loft to kill Haley.

Line of the day goes to Marlena when she told John "I guess we can add poisoning
to the list of things that cannot kill me"

Oww! I think even MY cheek is ringing from the slap Gabi laid on the guy with the new face who lives in the DiMansion. I've been waiting a LONG time for that. When it happened I actually yelled "YES!! LOL

I loved it. The way she feinted with right hand then he caught it she came back with left. I guess he doesn't realize she 's a leftie. Yep for those who may have been wondering, Gabi is still my girl. :):):)

I appreciated Gabi's "This Is Us" comment. Especially since soaps don't generally reference real-world pop culture very often.

I loved how John set a trap for Diana and it actually worked. I'm pleasantly surprised that aspect of this story of Diana trying to kill Marlena, isn't going to be dragged out for months and months apparently.

I had thought with more people like Tripp, Claire, Cara etc getting involved in Haley's immigration drama the story might be become more interesting. It appears I was mistaken.

Enjoyed the scenes with the new actor playing Stefan and how he interacted with Leo and Gabi. Looking forward to seeing more scenes with him and the chemistry he may have with Chloe.

Relieved that John is on to Diana. I hope that she gets put in jail next week. Not pleased they ruined the character of Diana. The writers should have created a new character to be Leo’s mother.

Fast forwarded through the Tripp and Claire and JJ and Haley. Not interested in that storyline.

I like this Brady. He is more interesting as a mature, savvy, CEO. It was tiring seeing him play victim to Kristen and then become a drug addicted jerk. He and Gabi are working well as a team. I’m interested in more.

I'm not sure a new actor can save Stefan for me but he was ok. I thought the intro was really odd as Leo didn't even say Stefan until their 2nd scene together. I'd imagine the unspoiled viewer was very confused.

This episode was another snoozefest for me but I'm glad John found his brain finally. I really hope both Leo and Diana are gone permanently soon. Ron has a bad habit of writing people out and then writing them back in again.

I would enjoy this version of Claire a lot more if she got to interact with her countless family members in town. Why aren't her grandparents guiding her? This would be a great time for Marlena or even Uncle Eric or Uncle Brady to compare her to Aunt Sami. Other than that, I think Olivia Keegan(Claire) is doing a fabulous job making us love to hate Claire.
