EJ is in the bedroom waiting for Nicole to come up. He gets into bed. Nicole is answering the door and it is Brady. She wants to know why he is there. He tells her that it is because this is where she is. Brady wants to come in and talk with her. She lets him in. Upstairs EJ is getting restless saying of all the times to get a craving. He starts to head downstairs. Brady is telling Nicole about finishing one part of his rehab. And now he has to make amends with the people he hurt in the past. He wants to put everything in the past and start over. Nicole wants to know at what part he wants to start over the part where he falls in love with someone else or the part where she becomes an emotional terrorist. Brady wants a clean slate. Nicole tells him about the baby how it is a miracle. She lets him know that EJ is the father. Brady is surprised. Glad that she is happy. Hugs her just as EJ walks into the room. Nicole sees EJ and introduces him to Brady. EJ is happy to meet him. Brady is about to leave when he sees that it is not a good time. EJ says he is about to leave. EJ asked her to walk him to the door. Nicole hopes he is not mad. He says no, she just said that he is her present and that is all that matters. He has a few things to do and she needs to finish with her past. EJ and Nicole are kissing. EJ says they have the rest of their lives for afternoons together. Nicole says ok next time she will be upstairs waiting for him and that she will not answer the door. EJ left telling the maid to keep an eye on Brady and Nicole. Brady tells Nicole about seeing his Dad. State that Chloe told him that Nicole is close to John the way he is now. Nicole says yes John the way he is now is her friend and if he wants her to help him get to know that John she will be happy to. She will not help him try to turn him into the old John. Brady tells Nicole that the man he saw today was not his father. Nicole says yes he is that is the way he is now. Nicole wants him to give it a chance he may just like John 2.0. Brady says that will not happen. Nicole tries to get Brady to understand what it must be like for John with everyone wanting him to be someone that he can’t remember being. Brady says thank you for listening and that he is glad that she is happy. Nicole says that John and him are of the same DNA both stubborn as hell. Brady does not want to give up easily. Brady leaves. Nicole tells herself not to get involved then says as if that is going to happen. Picks up the phone and calls someone.
Hope and Bo are questioning a witness about what he saw in the graveyard. They show him a picture of Nick and Mel. He points to the person he saw and it is Nick. Bo says they never saw that coming. Hope asks the witness if he is sure. He says he is not in the habit of lying to the police. Bo is getting off the phone. Hope goes to talk to him they are worried about Nick. He has already taken a bullet for Mel and are wondering what she has him up to now. Bo was going to call Nick, but Hope thinks it is better if they just go and talk to him without warning him. They are wondering if he saw Mel kill Trent. They leave to go find Nick.
Nick is at Maggie’s writing at a table. Mel comes in with her suitcase very upset. Says she found a picture of her and her Dad. Wants to know what kind of sick person would do that. Nick comforts her and has a flashback to stabbing Trent. He promises Mel that everything will be ok. He says he should have never sent the notes that only made things worst. He just wanted to keep her close to protect her. That she did nothing wrong. She says that what she did was so wrong that her mind will not let her remember. Nick wants her to go away with him, but she refuses says that she has to do the right thing and turn herself into the police. Nick is telling Mel that she can’t turn herself in. He won’t let her. She informs Nick that it is not his call. That she has to prove something to herself. Being his kid she loved him and wanted him to love her. She does not want to be like him and if she runs and says nothing that is just like what he would have done. If she turns herself in she will be at peace. Nick agrees if that is what she wants to do. Nick wants just a sec. He is scared because the police will arrest him as well. Mel can’t understand why they would arrest him she is the one that killed Trent. Nick starts to tell her what Hope told him yesterday, but changes his mind. He says it was his choice to do the things that he did. He will take her to the police station. Tells her that Hope knows he is lying for her and that they should go through this together. Mel cries saying that he is doing so much for her and that she did nothing for him. He tells her that she is his friend and that is all he ever wanted still is. Mel says she is ruining everyone’s life. Nick counters that it is her father that did that. Says that he is still doing it by making her think that she should be punished for something that he made her do. He does not care what happens to him, but he wants to protect her. He wants her to go away with him. Nicole and Caroline are free and the only one she is hurting by turning herself in is her. Mel answers back and you. She agrees to go with him.
Hope and Bo arrive at Maggie’s Maggie lets them in. Asks if they are there for Mel. They say yes and Nick too. Maggie goes to find them, but they are not there. Hope and Bo want to know if Maggie was expecting them to be there. She answers that since Mel moved in she does not know what to expect. Nick is so worried about Mel. Bo and Hope want to wait for them. Hope wants to know why she let Mel move in. She answers that Mickey says it is because she likes drama. She says really is was because of Nick. He is so worried about her that she thought if Mel had a safe place to live it would calm him down a bit. They let Maggie know that they are on Nick’s side, but they are very worried about him. Maggie tells them that Nick has been agitated, but she thinks it is because of the medication that he is on because of the shooting in France. Hope points out that Nick’s mother was on pain meds when she had her problem. Maggie states that Jessica had a split personality. Maggie is very worried now. She had asked Nick if he was on the pain killers with the DUI. Just remembers that he is driving. Hope wants to know if Maggie has any idea where they have gone. Maggie says they go to the cheating heart sometimes. Hope says they are not there. Maggie says they think they ran away. Now she is really scared. Hope comes in and says that all Mel’s things are gone and Nick’s too. That Mel left and took Nick with her.
John and Marlena run into each other at the police station. John is there because he is working with a bounty hunter to find the mayor’s killer. Marlena talks to John about his behaviour towards his son Brady. John says that she thinks he was rude, insensitive, and uncaring. Marlena replies with dumb. John is surprised because she normally does not use words like that. She tells him that she has tried to reach his emotions but gets nowhere. The insult seems to have worked. She points out that he could help Brady thought this hard time in his life and that Brady could help him therefore avoiding Brady is dumb. John replies that he is not avoiding Brady. He has no memory of Brady and therefore has no feeling for him. He is detached.
John goes in to see Roman. Lets him know that he hired a private investigator to work on the Mayor’s murder. Roman tells John that he knows he is doing this for Marlena. Be Sami’s hero and prove to Marlena that he is back to his old self and she will come back to him. Roman tells John that Marlena wants the stress of dealing with him over and that this is just a stunt on his part to prolong it. John says that Marlena thinks it is a good idea and that she would do anything to have Sami back. John points out to Roman that for his daughter’s sake he should take all the help he can get. Roman tells John to let him worry about his daughter and for him to do the same about his son. John says so Blondie told you that he is back and now you want to have a heart to heart about my son. Roman tries to tell him about the relationship that he use to have with his son. John will not listen. Leaves saying that Roman has more important things to do like find a killer.
Nick and Mel go into a hotel room. Nick has come up with a plan. They are going to stay in the hotel room overnight and fly to Vegas the next morning. Mel wants to know why Vegas. Nick answers to get married. Nick says this way they can not testify against each other. She should get some rest and he will take care of the tickets. Nick says Mel should take a hot bath and he will fix the drinks after all it is a special occasion they are going to get married. Mel has a look of horror on her face. She has a flashback to the night that Trent was killed. Being knocked down by Trent and passing out. Coming to and seeing Nick stab Trent in the back. She comes back to the present and takes the drink from Nick.
EJ has gone to see Marlena. Tells her that Brady and Nicole are having a private conversation and wants to know if he should be worried about Nicole. Talks about how Nicole has started to get her life together and that the baby has changed her. Is worried about Brady. Nicole has enough on her plate right now. Marlena advises not to borrow trouble. To have faith in Nicole. EJ says ok, but Brady is another matter. Marlena starts to laugh says it is plain that he is smitten. Marlena suggests that he ask Nicole how she feels about Brady. EJ and Marlena are about to leave when Brady arrives. Brady thanks EJ for letting him spend some time with Nicole. EJ says no problem, but there are a few things he would like to get straight.
John arrives at the mansion. Nicole thanks John for coming over. She talks to him about the conversation that she had with Brady.
