Days of Our Lives - Thurs. Dec. 5, 2013

Is it possible that I was dreaming when I heard Sami say something about people in Salem not having to pay for the evil things they do? If it wasn't a dream, I have new respect for Alison Sweeney's (Sami) acting ability; she said that whilst keeping a straight face! Or, was she sucking a lemon? LOL!

There was an Elizabethan costume being worn today...

edited to add character name...JS

Luckily she was saying to an actor who had not been with the show forever and knew all her back story. (Sami's) As it was, she did continue on with something to the effect that her brother, Eric, was paying for her crimes, but he told her that God doesn't work that way.

So finally caught up with the last three weeks of DOOL. I read all these recaps and watched a few scenes. I know I've said this before, but I must give props to the new DOOL writers. I may hate what they've done with characters and storylines but they do sweeps week very well. At least in the big production value sense. But they don't just do dramatic well, they do comedy. I wanted to not laugh, but the Kate, Sami and Gabi getting rid of Nick's body scenes were pretty funny.

These storylines are also bringing out the best in the actors. I've never been convinced about Camilia Banus's (Gabi) acting, but she has been really good these last couple weeks.

On a shallow note, I really liked how Greg Vaughan (Eric) looked in that leather jacket he wore while talking to Nicole on the bench. I don't like Eric being suspended from being a priest but if he gets to wear things that highlight his good looks more, I won't complain too much.

I'm still not sure about Nick, if he's dead or not. However, I am convinced that Blake Berris (Nick) is definitely not done with the show just yet, which could mean a repeat of some familiar doppelganger/twins/mask/look-alike cousins type storylines.

I'm loving getting more of Jordan's story and I think Jordan and Rafe are the only current couple/potential couple I'm actually rooting for.

After reading how Sami treated Nicole today, and seeing how she was quick to try to put Gabi in prison when they first find Nick unconscious, I would be okay with this murder storyline if it means Sami goes to prison forever. Just the worst character now.

I enjoyed Nicole and Sami barbs until the "lost" babies were brought up.
You can only go so far with name calling.

I think some of us think of Nick too much with that pillow. I almost fell over when
I read what DrBakerfan wrote. I hope we see more of Zombie Nick.

Harold was on twice this week.

Very upsetting to see "dopey" Brady. People in Salem must be blind
the way he was acting today.

Is Theresa remembering what happened that night?
I guess we find out tomorrow.

Nicole watched Sami grieving in the hospital when Grace was dying, and still didn't tell Sami the truth about Sydney. Rafe was the one who gave Sydney back to Sami. Then Nicole got out on bail, and kidnapped Sydney again. Sami can hate Nicole, and insult her in any way she wants to.

If only Theresa and JJ could be on the show without Daniel and Jennifer putting in an appearance.

Kate needs to call a meeting with Sami and Gabi, and get them in line. Kate and Sami have been leaving tracks all over the place, and now both Sami and Gabi are freaking out.

Chad, Kristen, and Stefano are gone, and Sami is avoiding EJ so the only people EJ has to talk to at the Dimera Mansion are Harold, and pictures. I wonder if that is foreshadowing for the future.

Nobodies babies dead or alive should be flung in your face.It crosses a line no matter who.Especially dead ones. At least Nicole spent real jail time, which can't be said of Sami for shooting Ej. Plus Nicole did show remorse of doing wrong.Sami just points out how awful everything else people do is wrong while doing wrong herself. She is a self righteous way over used character.

Sami is entitled to feel however she wants to about Nicole. However, she has zero business bringing up Nicole's deceased children, regardless of their history, just in the same way Chloe had no business saying it a few months ago. That topic is NEVER appropriate. And yes, what Nicole did to Sami was wrong, but I'd also like to point out that she was an excellent mother to Sydney... And when do we see Sami with any of her young kids but Johnny?

Anyway, Jennifer and Theresa both looked great, Maggie looked atrocious. I'm loving the shade of red Theresa's hair is. Also Jennifer needs to grow up and accept a dang apology when she's actually given one, especially one she doesn't deserve.

Loved JJ & Will's visit, nice to see family spending time together just because.

I also think Sami went too far. But as a Sami fan, I know it is in her character to hit below the belt, and it is in Nicole's character to shake it off since she most of the time knows she deserves it. I think I know every sin Sami has ever committed and most of those also became Salem public knowledge which is why even her family members always have a hard time believing her.

But many of of Nicole's sins have remained out of the mainstream knowledge of the characters. Case in point, her face bacteria attack on Chloe. Roman never showed up with an arrest warrant for what would be charged as attempted mayhem in normal circumstances. So to me, Chloe throwing the loss of the child in her face may have finally evened that up. I was always baffled that the writers turned her and Nicole into best friends forever types. That story line along with the story line of Nicole using that teenage pregnant girl to get a baby then to trade up to an EJ baby by baby napping have made it hard for me to give Nicole a lot of quarter. By contributing to the death of Tony in order to hide her involvement in the teen pregnancy ( I maintain her threatening presence in his hospital room stressed him out enough that he died. as well as her reluctance to summon aid all played a part), she again skated.

So what is my point? I kind of think the writers are giving vent to a lot of pent up poison which will in the end purify Nicole. She does have a lot to make up for, and this stint with Eric may be the start of that.

But as a Sami fan, I know it is in her character to hit below the belt, and it is in Nicole's character to shake it off since she most of the time knows she deserves it.

I respect that you're a Sami fan. You must be enjoying the show lately, and I'm glad. But that's not the case for me, as I am not a Sami fan, never have been, and right now, I wish she would go away for good. I do agree that Nicole has done some terrible things in the past. Though I hardly think it's Sami's place to say anything to Nicole, considering she has done some terrible things herself, including kidnapping a baby. To see Sami give lectures is as ridiculous as seeing her be all upset that Kristen raped Eric, while in bed with her own rapist. How can anyone take this seriously ?

And I certainly don't agree that Nicole deserves what's being served to her. Especially lately. Nobody deserves to be reminded of losing two children. Nobody. And, if anything, Nicole is pretty much the only character who's really trying to change, and who has succeeded. And even then, she's still being treated like garbage, by the so called good people of Salem. The way Eric has been with her is horrible. Just horrible. And again, how many times has Hope called her a "porn star" ? And how about Jennifer ? How come Nicole is the only one who gets blamed for what happened, but nobody is willing to call what Jennifer did by its real name : harassment ! Jennifer started the whole thing by not minding her own business and deciding to go after Nicole, because in her mind, Nicole was not good enough for Daniel.

So the fact that Nicole is somewhat resilient (or that she can "shake it off" as you say) does not mean that I enjoy seeing her being constantly put down and intimidated. Even her suicide attempt was not enough for people to finally back off, including the oh so good Maxine, who felt she had the right to verbally attack Nicole in the middle of HTC just a few days after the event. How cruel is that ?

So I say, enough is enough. Shut up, Sami, enough with your temper tantrums. And enough with the harassment of Nicole.

On another topic, am I the only one thinking it's so ridiculous to see Brady doing drugs in the KMansion living room ? TIIC (the idiots in charge) can't even find a spare room for him to do that ? Wow, just... wow !:rolleyes:

Yes, doing what Brady doing in the Kmansion was strange. He kept
looking around to see if anyone was watching. He's already
becoming paranoid about it. Then he called his drug dealer
in the house. Where are the peepers when you need them :)

As a reply to THE Writer, thank you for respecting that I am a Sami fan. I am also a Nicole fan, but I do not fall all over in sympathy for her past because of her father. What happened to her was awful, and it is part of what makes her who she is. But part of who she is is also someone who has tried to murder someone, (Victor) kidnapped a baby twice..tried to have her rivals face destroyed by contaminating surgical instruments, using a vulnerable teen ager in order to hold onto a man...I could go on, as her list is much longer, but these are the sins I hated the most. Just as it upsets you and others to have her being a "porn star" thrown in her face all the time, it irks me to see Sami have the kidnapping of Belle thrown in her face. Both Nicole and Sami were teens when both things happened. Sami was shocked by what she had seen her Mother and John doing in the boardroom, and thought she was saving her family by hiding what she thought was an awful secret. Dumb? Yes. Probably with a huge amount of mental instability thrown in. Nicole was not at fault for what happened to her, but as for Hope calling her a porn star, I think it happened once and it was while Nicole was under investigation for a crime.

I do not fall all over Sami in sympathy either, but cannot as others do, hate her for who she falls in love with. This latest thing with Nick is eating on her conscience and it should. That is Sami's big failing as a good villainess though, is she does have a conscience. Her conscience is bigger than her brain oftentimes, and I would be the first to admit that

As for Nicole trying to change, I do not believe characters ever change completely, as they are who they are, if they are the moral stalwarts like Maggie, they remain that way, if they are inherently evil like Stefano, that is what they are and what they revert to almost always. and if like Sami or Nicole, they are sometimes a blend of both, they will always be who they are. Catch them on a good day (story line)(they can be a hero like when Sami saved Rafe from Bernardi, or Nicole rescued Eric at the hotel. Catch them on a different story line, they can both be witches who care about nothing but their own interests. But they both make Salem what it is, and are both reasons I watch it. Without characters like this, the show would have no flavor.

And yes, I am enjoying the show right now. I think most of the players on canvas are being used pretty well, waiting for Lucas to come back with his story line and female interest. Nicole is going to have her shining moment, but as with Sami, sooner or later there will be some tarnish on the shine.

Nicole kidnapped Sami's baby. Sami kidnapped Belle, and her family was angry at her for it. If Belle want to give Sami all sorts of grief for it, that's fine. Sami has every right to remind Nicole of all the horrible things Nicole has done to Sami and Eric. The conversation started out about Eric, and Sami pointed out that Eric was a better person than Nicole. Nicole attacked Sami because she knew Sami was right. Whatever mistakes Eric has made, he has never done anything as horrible as Kristen, Sami, Nicole, EJ, etc.

Nicole did not go to prison for kidnapping Sydney. She blackmailed her way into a pardon. Sami was in jail for months for shooting Bernardi to save Rafe, and Sami was cleared of murder charges. Sami went to death row for a murder Lucas committed.

I thought high Brady was going to hug EJ there for a minute. Are Brady and Theresa going to be doing drugs together now, or will they never share another scene?

Well, I guess we will have to agree to disagree. :) Sami is in no way a hero in my view, not even for shooting Bernardi. To me, that was typical Sami, shooting first, asking questions later. Some will say she had no time, fine. I just don't buy that. Nor do I buy that Sami cares that much about Eric or that she has a conscience. Sami has a nasty fight with Nicole, judges everyone for everything they have ever done, yet she keeps on living with EJ, knowing that EJ found out what Kristen had done and that EJ still tries to deny it was rape. So nope, not working for me, not at all.

So... while we may disagree... have a nice day, every one ! :)

Just as it upsets you and others to have her being a "porn star" thrown in her face all the time, it irks me to see Sami have the kidnapping of Belle thrown in her face. Both Nicole and Sami were teens when both things happened.
I have a hard time equating being forced into porn as a teenager (by your own father) with making conscious decision to kidnap your baby sister with the intent of selling her on the black market.

Funny part is Ej knew exactly were Sydney was through all that. And yet Sami isn't spewing hate at the man who caused real, real pain. They have made Sami totally ruined and disgusting. Saying something like about time you had another dead baby in my opinion was way,way over the line. Real woman watch not zombies, who may be experiencing that right now.How insensitive.
