Days of Our Lives - Thurs. Dec. 5, 2013

Sami shot EJ in the head for the Sydney kidnapping, and pulled the plug on him in the hospital. Sami didn't let EJ off the hook for the Sydney kidnapping. It's unfortunate that the current writers now see this as a love story, but originally Sami hated EJ for kidnapping Sydney just as much as she did Nicole.

Just like EJ started a war with Sami so did Nicole. If they don't like that Sami fights back to bad, they should have thought of that beforehand. Sami didn't steal Nicole's baby. Nicole stole Sami's baby twice.

What difference does any of that make? Sami was out of line, grossly out of line in bringing up whatever Nicole did in the past when her own past is just as littered with crimes. And Sami is the one who started it. It was thoughtless on her part, especially as she was trying to get Nicole to do something.

I thought Jennifer looked nice today, even though she's still wearing no sleeves! I like her scene when she asked Maggie to stay there and told her that she was her Aunt Maggie her whole life - it seems they brush that aside because of Maggie being Daniel's egg mother.

I hate that they bring up Nicole losing 2 babies, that has nothing to do with anything!

edited to write out word....JS

I rewatched the guy at the bar watching Sami. He resembeled Nick (look a like?). Did everyone notice all the photos of gone characters. Tom & Alice. Jack in the background next to Julie and Dougs portrait, and of course Kristen. I really don't know why they have kept Sami so over the top manic.

Being forced into porn as a teenager is certainly not equal to kidnapping your baby sister, planning to sell her on the black market. Nicole was forced; and as a teenager Sami chose to do awful things. Being a teenager isn't an excuse for her, as she (Sami) has never truly outgrown her lying, scheming ways. As a teenager, Sami also drugged and raped her sister's boyfriend (Austin), got pregnant with HIS brother's baby and switched the DNA results. She also spent most of her younger life trying to make sure Carrie and Austin weren't together, that Carrie was unhappy. Sorry but if Nicole has to pay for her "sins" by listening to jabs about the children she no longer has, Sami's laundry list of misdeeds shouldn't be swept under the rug. Sami is every bit as "bad" as Nicole has been.

I have a hard time equating being forced into porn as a teenager (by your own father) with making conscious decision to kidnap your baby sister with the intent of selling her on the black market.
My belief is that Sami was mentally unstable due to the shock she felt over her mother and John. So while it may have been a conscious decision, it was not one that she was fully aware of consequences. Her bout with bulimia also played a part in her mental instability. It still does not make her innocent, but neither does Nicole being forced into the industry of porn give her any reason or excuse to try and mutilate a rival or kidnap a baby or use a vulnerable pregnant teenager, all decisions she made while pretty much conscious. Now was she a bit mentally unstable due to the stress of the miscarriage? Probably.

Nicole is not a saint, Sami is not a saint, and that is just the way I think about it.

I never said Nicole was a saint.

I just don't equate the two situations. Being forced to do something against your will is quite different from what Sami did (kidnapping Belle). Besides, they didn't show her as being mentally unbalanced at that time.

I love how Sonny or Will can appear on screen and not have to fret constantly about the other one. Take a note, Jennifer.

Sami was completely out of line although aside from that baby crack I did enjoy the Nicole/Sami scenes. I love how Nicole is strong without a man, too. Take a note, Abby.

If I were Jennifer, I'd take away JJ's spray-tanning rights. Oy vey, this is winter in the miscellaneous midwest. Kids like JJ aren't usually that tan. Unless were supposed to start thinking he's the love doc's child.

I threw up in my mouth a little when Maggie said Jennifer was like her grandparents. Yes, I remember when Alice stalked...oh wait, no...and Tom actually went to work. Writers, you're trying to hard to make me like a character I used to love, but you made me hate.

My belief is that Sami was mentally unstable due to the shock she felt over her mother and John.

No offense still, but if we want to blame Sami's decisions at the time on her being mentally unbalanced, we could argue then that she still is, as she's not changed one bit in my opinion. And, again, the trauma she felt while watching John and Marlena : I never got that, as to me, John was her father, the one who loved and took care of her. And Sami's reaction made absolutely no sense to me. Then again, Sami never makes sense to me.

Back to topic, neither Sami nor Nicole are saints, that's true. Still, you don't tell somebody "it's time for you to get pregnant so you can lose another child". No matter what the circumstances are.

Neither Sami nor Nicole are saints, but Sami did not kidnap Nicole's child. Nicole stole Sami's baby twice. Everything Sami said about Nicole is true, and Nicole was willing to fight with Sami, and trade insults. The things Nicole brought up about Sami, Sami had done to someone else. The things Sami brought up about Nicole, Nicole had done to Sami.

Excuse me..........did this all happen in this episode? We have a forum called Days in the Past for old stories, events. This thread is a summary of the show on Dec. 5th. Please confine your comments to the the show. We do not need to have this thread continually hi-jacked into a debate of past events.

I finally just got around to watching this episode and I want to comment on the clothing. I'm not much into fashion but I do have reactions to some things.

Today Maggie's blouse and jacket or whatever all that was, looked like something Queen Victoria would have worn.

Jennifer's dress (or whatever it was) made me think of a 1915 lady's swimsuit.

Sami's outfit looked like a Star Trek uniform.
