At the Loft, Rafe and Sami discuss her health situation. Sami is trying to stay positive about things. Rafe says he has an idea to make her feel better. He gives her a massage. Then he offers to take her out to dinner. She’s not really up to running into anybody so they decide to order Chinese. Sami gets a call from Lexie. They can do the procedure in the morning due to a cancellation. They discuss. Sami hedges a bit but Rafe says they need to take care of it right away. Sami finally agrees and calls Lexie back to take the appointment. They discuss logistics with the kids. Sami doesn’t want them to know. She starts to get emotional, saying she’s scared. Rafe hugs her. Later Rafe is unpacking the food. Sami grabs a fortune cookie and reads the fortune, “your past deeds are coming back to haunt you”. Rafe laughs it off but Sami thinks it’s probably true. She thinks she’s being punished by God. Rafe doesn’t think God works that way. Maybe it’s karma, she says. She rattles off some of her misdeeds convinced it’s karmic justice. He mentions Johnny having cancer, was he being punished too? No of course not, she says. She’s just having trouble thinking about her kids without her. He says to have faith. She can’t seem to move past the karmic payback. He asks have good things ever happened to her and does she deserve those? She softens saying she doesn’t deserve him. He tries to explain that this is not a divine punishment, it’s just something they’re going to have to get through. But it’s not happening to us, it’s happening to me, she says. He says you’re my wife, I love you, whatever happens to you, happens to me. She apologizes. He says they’ll get through this together. And by the way God loves you. Have faith.
At the Station, Hope is pleading with Roman about the undercover operation idea. He’s against it. Hope thinks they’re doing nothing. Roman says Hope is not dressing up as a hooker, she could be recognized. Roman says they’re going with his plan. Hope asks what that is. In due time, he says. Bo comments that family in the workplace has a certain stress level. Hope tries to reason with Roman. The perp is specifically going after prostitutes, who aren’t comfortable with opening up to cops. Bo, looking at something says, we may not need them to. He reads a note from the perp that says “I am your ally. I come to bring justice. Evil women must pay.” Bo says he doesn’t think this guy is stopping anytime soon. Bo sticks it in an evidence bag and Roman says he’ll run it to forensics. He tells them to stay out of trouble while he’s gone. Bo and Hope take off to the streets.
Outside Cheatin’ Heart, Quinn is on the phone trying to get information on Mandy’s condition to no avail. Taylor comes up and gives him an update having just seen Mandy. She says don’t worry, Mandy is determined not to talk to the police. However, in her sleep she said his name. He worries someone heard. Only her, luckily for him. He again warns her to stay in line. More arguing. Now they go into the bar where Taylor asks the bartender to turn on the TV. Roman is giving a statement to the people of Salem about the case and gives a number to call for information. Taylor hands her phone to Quinn saying she already punched in the number, call it. They sit down and argue a bit. She sneers at him about his line of work. He mentions paying for all of Mandy’s hospital bills. He then says just give me back my tablet. She has no idea what he’s talking about. She can’t believe he keeps all his business information on that thing. She doesn’t have it and apparently he has no idea who does. She gets worried that some lunatic has his tablet. He says he’ll find it. She says he better or their little arrangement is over.
At DiMansion, Chloe is outside incessantly ringing the doorbell. Kate answers and Chloe immediately starts calling her *itch. She can’t believe she didn’t figure it out sooner, you set me up, damn you! And she starts choking Kate. Kate pushes her off saying she’s crazy and how dare she go after Stefano DiMera’s wife like that. She makes a few snide remarks. Chloe tells her what she did to her is inhuman. Kate says she’s been a whore since high school, she’s just getting paid for it now. Chloe says, so you admit you paid Quinn to blackmail me into doing this. She says Kate will pay for this. Kate says she’s not done with her yet. Kate says Chloe destroyed two of her son’s lives and she won’t give her the opportunity to do the same to her grandson’s. Chloe says and she’s such a great mother that she can make that call? She calls her a hypocrite. She tries to reason with Kate about even after all the horrible things she’s done she still loves her kids like no one else could so why can’t she afford the same to her and Parker. Kate says nice try but she needs to drop the custody suit because at the most opportune time she will drop her bomb to CPS. Chloe calls her bluff saying she’s got nothing. She then tells Kate that after all these years and all the things she’s tried to do to her one thing remains the same: Kate never wins in the end. She says Kate has to hide behind a disgusting old man and in fact they both have the same job except Kate has one exclusive client. Kate calls her a *itch. Chloe says she’s becoming Kate’s worst nightmare because she is living proof of what a loser Kate really is. She leaves.

I do have to say that I am glad to see Kate back to her shananigans rather than oooh-ing and aaaah-ing over Stefano. This is that Kate that I loved to hate.
