Oh my, well, I took one for the team today. Yes, today is when we get to see the very cheesy-looking Hellscape, Satan, and more foolishness from this storyline. On the one hand, the stuff with Roman/Lucas/Orpheus, etc is all coming together nicely, and there's a decent send-off for some characters, so can't complain too much.

John is comforting Patch after the funeral, it shows Kayla's tombstone. Patch is obviously sad, everyone after came up to him saying how great she was, it doesn't feel right that they won't see each other again. John can relate regarding Doc, says it was a beautiful service. Patch remarks it was hard for 3 funerals in one day, John can't believe they won't see the women again. Patch tells John that actually, he did see Kayla again, yesterday, explains what happened, felt so real. John is skeptical. Patch keeps trying to convince John, who says they just need to make Orpheus pay.

Will and Sonny are in the square after the funeral, everyone is sad. Will can't believe he has to leave everyone at this time, and has to leave Sonny. Sonny says that isn't true because he's coming with him. Will is shocked, Sonny is very insistent. They didn't get married just to be separated all this time. Will doesn't want to let him pack up and leave Salem, Gabi won't want Ari on the other side of the world. Sonny persuaded Gabi to let Ari come, Gabi will visit and Ari wanted to.

Will doubts Victor will allow it to happen, but Sonny says they'll figure it out together, he doesn't want to be separated anymore. Sonny keeps chatting, doesn't Will want this? He kisses Will. Will is excited and happy, declarations of love and happiness. Allie comes up, asks what is going on.

Evidently they update her, she's shocked and thinks this will be hard on Sonny. He says it is confusing but it just hit him that being happy "is all that matters," Allie interrupts. Will asks if she's OK, Allie suggests that she and Henry go with them. Will and Sonny are surprised, she would leave everything behind. Allie remarks how the three women took chances, risks. She wants to do the same. Allie tells them she cheated on Chanel with Alex, they're over. Will asks if she can't stay and fight for her, Sonny asks if Alex took advantage.

Allie says she was the aggressor, her and Chanel need time and space to grow on their own, she doubted Chanel due to her friendship with Johnny. Allie will have to quit at the bakery, talked to Lucas who said to lean on people she loves and take care of Henry and herself. Chanel has made up her mind, Allie thinks this is an opportunity to reboot, she can be with two of her favorite people. Sonny asks if she's sure, she is. Will and Sonny are all for it and share a group hug.

The women are waiting for Nick to return. He comes back, perhaps because it is their funeral day their request was granted, they celebrate, Nick drops the news that the devil only granted an audience to Marlena. The women complain, Marlena says they have to take this only option. Chit-chat, Nick is impatient, Marlena leaves with him. Nick escorts her to an area for the meeting, won't be joining her. She walks into a cheap-looking Hell. There's laughter, the devil looks like Doug, he asks if Marlena missed him? He certainly missed his "darling Marlena." Apparently if Marlena saw his true face, hers would melt away. He figured she'd be comfortable seeing someone she recognized.

Marlena says they don't have much time, the devil asks what she wants. She tells him what happened with the documents, he snaps and produces them, explains Earth's rules about false pretenses don't work here. Marlena knows he wants their souls, but this was a trick. She tries flattering him into doing the right thing, despite knowing he wants their souls. She thinks this trickery makes him look weak. Marlena keeps trying, demonic sounds in the background, the devil appears ill but evidently has made his decision. The devil looks at the documents, offers to tear them up but only if Marlena stays by his side for all eternity.

Kate and Kayla are worried about Marlena, Kate doesn't think this will end well. Kayla tries assuring her it'll work out. Kate is grateful to be there with Marlena and Kayla at least. Nick comes back and taunts the women, is disgusted with the sappiness and how emotional their funerals were. They ask how their families are, Nick says Patch is especially sad, but he knows Kayla paid him a visit last night. Kayla denies it, but Nick tells Kate what Kayla did.

Kayla fesses up to Kate about what happened. Kate feels betrayed because she could've reached Roman or Lucas. Kate asks Nick to inform her how she can reach her loved ones, he doesn't know how Kayla got past the firewall but it's been plugged and won't be breached anymore. Kayla won't give up. Nick declares there's murder in the air, tells them of their husbands' plot to kill Orpheus. The women are shocked.

Roman is on the phone with Lucas, who is upset about not saying goodbye to his mother. Roman tells Lucas he needs to go forward with the plan today, it'll make sense because it's his mom's funeral today. Lucas is hesitant but agrees. Allie walks in having overheard something about her dad (this is before she sees Will and Sonny), she is surprised Roman is speaking to him after what he did to her mom. Roman says he called about the funeral, wanted to talk to Allie, she gets on the phone. She updates him one the beautiful service, knows it's hard for him to be there.

Lucas wishes he could be there, tells Allie to lean on everyone who loves her and take care of Henry, has to go because the guard is coming in and tells her to give his regards to Roman. They hang up. Allie asks Roman what he meant on the phone when talking about justice for the women. Roman says everyone's on edge, he was just trying to comfort Lucas, Kate's death reminded him of what's really important. Allie hopes justice gets served, hugs Roman and leaves. Patch and John walk in, they decide it's time. Lucas tells the guard he knows Orpheus has him in his pocket, to inform Orpheus he wants to see him ASAP, leaves.

Later, Orpheus enters, heard Lucas wants to see him, Lucas says it took awhile. Orpheus asks if the disheveled-looking Lucas is drunk, Lucas says not drunk enough, needs more. Orpheus is shocked that Lucas gave up sobriety. Lucas gets rough with Orpheus, blames him for Kate dying, he didn't get to attend the funeral today, Orpheus feigns being sorry, gets rough with Lucas. Orpheus blames Lucas' kidnapping of Sami for all of this.

Orpheus says to stay put and he'll return, and Orpheus reminds him to stop saying he killed Kate, because he didn't. Later, Orpheus comes back with it, tells Lucas to wait as they'll toast together. Lucas says he only drinks alone, Orpheus says there is more for later, insists Lucas go first, then the guard returns, Orpheus is late for therapy, he leaves the bottle with Lucas. Lucas dumps the contents into the trash, but not before smearing the liquid on his throat and forehead so he smells boozy.

Patch hopes their wives are now looking down on them, understand this is for them. They all insist it'll work, Roman is alone hoping Lucas can make it work. John and Patch heard Roman talking to Allie, sorry he had to lie. John will tell Doc she was avenged when he sees her again. Roman is ready for justice. He updates them on the Lucas part of the plan, they're ready. John worries about Lucas drinking, Roman says he'll do whatever is necessary, thinks everything is coming together right about now.

In the prison, Lucas asks the guard where Orpheus is, the guard says he already told Lucas, Lucas lunges at him and is pushed into the table. He says he "wants more." The guard asks if he's OK, calls for backup as Lucas smiles slightly on the ground. Elsewhere, Orpheus returns from therapy, the guard comes in and asks what was in the booze he gave Lucas, tells him what happened. Orpheus calls him a loser who can't handle his liquor like a lot of drunks. In the infirmary, Lucas has eyes closed, is calling for his mom, the nurse asks if he can hear, leaves to find a doctor. Lucas gets up and opens the door to a smiling Patch and John.

Oh my, well, I took one for the team today.

Indeed you did, DaysD, thank you!!!!

Egads, the devil puts on the face of Doug so Marlena would feel more "comfortable" as his real face would melt hers?? Yep, hell looked so cheesy, and ridiculous, with those pots of fire, lol. Nick Fallon was having a great time, overacting constantly. But you can see he was having fun.

Then there was Will & Sonny.....Zach Tinker (Sonny) was good, acting was very believable, but Chandler Massey (Will) appeared to think it all a big joke, just big smiling at everything. Glad he was enjoying himself.

Steve & John were really good, glad they are sticking together, with Roman, to avenge their wives. Lucas really put on his big boy/manly pants today. Very different for this character.

Of course this is all my personal opinion, and I do think perhaps ReRon likes to write humorous sarcasm or something, but fails miserably. Maybe it is why cast members find the dialogue so funny. ???

p.s......Kayla's grave marker says she died Jan. 9, 2023. And gee, her funeral was today, Feb. 16, 2023. A long time to wait before a funeral service. And all 3 women had a funeral service, evidently the same day, one after the other. Kate had already been cremated, were Kayla and Marlena also cremated right after they died? Seems a long time to wait for a funeral service.........which is what they called it, not a memorial service. I thought Kate did not want any sort of service or funeral. Guess the writers changed their minds about that. Don't know why the long wait, there were no relatives coming from out of state, or out of the country.

Am guessing the suits decided to delay the funerals and then just edit scenes from should have been different shows, all into one.

I was going to ask that. How long ago did they die and their funerals are just now?

I thought Will seemed hesitant for Sonny to come. And now he has Allie too. Yeah, that wasn't a lot to just invite yourself to New Zealand.

But Allie walking into Pub, she really heard all that that Roman was saying? People 3 feet away don't hear anything but she heard it all.

Did they not think that Lucas may actually have to drink some? But now I question was there booze in it? I'm really not sure what the big plan is.

Ok heaven, hell, the devil. This is just all too much. I question every time I watch why am I watching this absolute garbage but I know why. Because it's the only one I watch and I still have hope that one day we will get good stories. I still do not think these women are dead but how are they going to explain everything and bring them back? Of course they don't explain things a lot so guess that's how they'll do it.

I wonder ....do Salemites get a passport along with their driver's license. I mean, Sonny, Allie & Henry all going to New Zealand on a moment's notice? Now Sonnyy may have one, as he was getting his ducks all in a row before he told Will. Allie might have one...wasn't she living in London, somewhere out of the country???? But Henry doesn't get a pass just because he's a baby. (just read of a couple trying to get flight out of country, but baby had none, so out of luck......)

wow..... thank you DaysD for this..... the amazing grannies at white castle story continues..... I do like seeing Doug so that was almost nice....

I have friends who went to work in New Zealand....
Americans moving to New Zealand on this visa have to meet a certain standard. The New Zealand work holiday visa requirements for Americans are:

  • 18-30 years of age
  • US passport holder
  • Ability to prove sufficient funds, ($4,200 NZD). Although this is an official requirement, I was never asked for my specific bank account details on my application or verified proof of this. I recommend having over this amount before moving to New Zealand, but if you only have around $2,000-$3,000 and you’re just itching to go, a credit card that has a $5,000+ limit should suffice as well. Not ideal, but it will get you there and allow you to start working in New Zealand.
  • Be in good health and of good character
  • Ability to pay the visa application fee – $208 NZD
  • Not accompanied by dependent children
  • Must have a ticket to leave New Zealand at the end of the visa or enough money to buy one
  • Have not previously entered New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa
  • Have adequate health insurance for the duration of your stay in New Zealand. It’s easy to get inexpensive travel insurance, like World Nomads, for a year or two. Or if you’re under 26, you may still be under your parents’ health insurance that you can use abroad.
  • Be outside of New Zealand when you apply for and are granted the visa
I guess that the writer's are not capable of doing an EWE search or whatever the call it now.... How old is Sonny? Will has to have his work visa paid for by his company.... Ari and Henry on the other hand are going to cause issues as they are dependent children....

says a lot about the day when I'm googling New Zealand work visas while watching the show and finding that way more interesting.

Okay, this is just a little mini rant, but I really wish they tried harder to write good storylines for Will and Sonny. They had so much potential! They were the first gay couple on Days and connected to all the main families! It would have been nice if they had a surrogacy storyline (at least they're both alive to show that story unlike Daniel and Nicole!).

But, hey, kudos to Will and Sonny for being the only supercouple who don't have children of their own (Next to Julie and Doug). At least they have Ari, though, right?

Also kudos for surrogacy being the only storyline ReRon won't recycle!

These quotes sound eerily prophetic now:

Gabi: A baby is something you and Will will never have! (Said to Sonny back in 2013)

Gabi: Now Ari won't have any siblings! (said after she found out she can't have kids anymore)

Nick: You and Sonny want something to love, get a dog. (Said in 2013)

Also, I did rant about Victor outliving all his descendants after Daniel died. Sonny isn't dying, obviously, but I would have loved him to be there when Victor dies, and it looks like he won't be.

Also, also, Sonny once said he didn't want kids until he was 40. Granted, he sees Ari as his own, but, it looks like he really won't have kids of his own til he's 40 (He'll be 32 in August, so we'll see in 8-9 years if the show is still on, I guess!). Is that hilarious in hindsight, or harsher in hindsight? I can't decide.

Yikes. I watched the show today. This was awful. How can the writers continue to write this garbage and not get fired or cancelled?

How do these actors get through these scenes without rolling their eyes and laughing hysterically? I cannot imagine this kind of writing keeping existing viewers or attracting new ones. I have been watching a different daytime show the last 2 years that has better writing and stories. Yet I keep checking in with Days to see if it is getting better. It is getting worse, I am afraid.

I watched because I heard Will and Sonny were leaving. That is sad - they could write some really good storylines for these characters. They are both great actors. (Although I must agree with Poirot - the actor that plays Will does smile awkwardly and a little much during his scenes). The 3 women in Heaven/Hell or whatever dimension they are right now - such a waste of good talent.

These women have had some awesome storylines in the past and I cringe that they have been reduced to acting with this kind of low quality writing. They have so much to offer this show and the writers are giving them nothing compelling or watchable.

Yeah, they just ran off, leaving the baby on the counter, to catch that flight..... but.......the police got them, & I hope there is a followup at some point. i.e. like they just wanted to get their luggage off the plane, or stop it from leaving, til they straightened out the visa/passport problem, or something equally stupid.

(referring to post #6)

OFF TOPIC two of my grandchildren have passports.... they were obtained for the as soon as they were old enough.... my grandson had his and went to Mexico with his parents they all had passports which were needed to get back into the country....

So in theory Allie could have gotten Henry a passport shortly after birth and it would still be good..... the picture might need updating.... but as we so rarely ever see him we wouldn't know.....

Please RETURN TO TOPIC

Among the numerous unanswered questions relating to the awful Devil plot, is how Nick ever ended up working for Satan. After all, in life he was more dorky than devilish
1) Was he told that the hot girls would prefer him to hunky Jett and Jeremy?
2) Has it been arranged that he’ll be able to make brilliant scientific breakthroughs?
3) Is he being protected from the revenge of Willow Stark and Dr. Trent Robbins?

Will and Sonny in New Zealand. What could go wrong? How long will it be until word arrives that they’ve been hospitalized after an attack by akiwi bird?

John, Steve, Roman, and poor Lucas are hot for revenge, but are they prepared for a counterattack launched by the big O’s son, batty Evan Frears?

Finally, the writers are having no pity on Julie — her darling Nicky as Satan’s flunky and the Evil One borrowing Doug’s persona, It’s all a bit much.

Thanks DaysD.

It's finally the day after Valentine's. A day with three funerals and no weddings.

An interesting time for the Will, Sonny, Ari, Allie and Henry go to New Zealand. Cyclone Gabrielle is there now. I
know filmed awhile ago, but still interesting.

It's odd Allie wants to go with her brother to New Zealand. Maybe Sami and Sydney will show up there too one day.

So, Kayla did see Steve. Nick said they fixed the firewall. It's probably made with real fire :)

Interesting ending with Lucas opening the door to let Steve and John in.

Nice to see Bill Hayes (Doug) play the devil.

So the Sonny and Allie exits are a little stupid but that's a much better way for people to leave as opposed to kidnapping or death.

I decided today I think I just want Days 2.0 and it starts Devil Doug, Nick, Charlie and Deimos. Maybe rotating guests as they kill off regular Day character starting with the obviously evil and then moving on to the ones you wouldn't expect in hell. Like Rafe shows up and we get an entire back story on how he was really a hitman. Or we find out Maggie has been dealing pot brownies.
