Xander and Gwen at police station discussing Justin blackmailing the judge.

Justin plays the tape to the judge and admits he’s in league with Gwen and Xander. Justin tells the judge he’s going to make things go away for Bonnie and Xander and if he doesn’t then Justin will be going to Jack with the info/tape.

Brady thinks Justin might be able to help get Victor off his back over the Chloe situation. Thinks Victor has more respect for Justin then him. Chloe doesn’t agree. John calls Brady.

Jake is with Ava - he doesn’t think Gabi’s wrong to not trust Ava and be suspicious of her sudden sweet behavior. Ava thinks she can use her power to change the dynamic between her and Gabi.

Gabi meets with Philip and thinks it is ridiculous that Philly K thinks she will sign over her company. Jake has never killed anyone, she knows.

Xander can’t wait to see the looks on the Judge and EJs face when he’s free. Gwen reminds him that the money be ill no longer be evidence and he wants to spend it. But Gwen tells him he needs to give the money to EJ. Xander doesn’t want to. Xander thinks Justin must love Bonnie a lot to do this.

Justin wants to know if he and the judge have a deal. The judge is surprised and dismayed that Justin is going outside of the law. Justin was dismayed that the judge brought charges against Xander again. The judge tells Justin he doesn’t want to do this. Justin says In the cases of Bonnie and Xander there will be no justice if they aren’t set free. So Justin wants to know if he’s going to dismiss cases or if Justin will use recording to get him thrown off case.

Brady tells John not to worry, that he’ll figure something out and to Keep him posted if he can help. Chloe wants to know what’s wrong. Marlena isn’t feeling well and John thinks she’s overworked. John and Marlena were supposed to take Rachel to pumpkin patch but now can’t. But Brady has the time so he will take her. Chloe asks for pics but Brady says she can come with them.
 
Jake wants to know if Ava wants a truce with Gabi. The muffins were a peace offering, Jake doesn’t think that’s her style. She says maybe not but Rafe doesn’t want to live in a war zone and neither does she. Jake asks if she thinks Gabi does (well duh Jake - Gabi wants her way no matter how it happens). She’s been nasty to Ava from the minute she moved in and Ava has totally done nothing to deserve it. Jake, of course, hates that he and Rafe are in the middle of Ava/Gabi feuding. So Ava says you want the same thing I do, peace. Jake says Gabi would call him a fool to trust Ava.

Philip wants to know how well Gabi knows Jake. She knows he’s not a killer even if he was in the mob. Philip asks if Jake was involved in Gabi putting the spyware on his computer and she acts shocked that he thinks she admitted to that. She doesn’t remember and Philly K has no proof. Philip says he has proof Jake was a hit man.

Xander and Gwen discussing the million dollars. He’s taking Gwen on a tropical vacation. They basically fantasize about this trip. Exclusive resorts, couples massages, getting to know one another. They haven’t had a chance to focus on each other due to putting our fires.

Gabi refuses the file Philip is offering. He’s telling her about someone who stiffed the Vitalis. Gabi doesn’t believe a word of it, but Philip says there was a witness who’s prepared to testify Jake is a stone cold killer.

Ava is at a loss at how to gain Gabi’s trust and get her to stop being an enemy. Jake says it reminds him of a Vitali feud with another family.

Chloe can’t go because she has a job to do, but her boss says its fine and there’s nothing to do at the office. She’d feel unprofessional if she played hooky. (Since when?!) Chloe's trying to be a good employee and her refusal has nothing to do with Philly K. Chloe thinks Brady is provoking issues between her and Philip.

Brady changes his invite to not include anything with Philip is rather manipulative about Rachel missing her mom and needing a woman in her life. Which of course sways Chloe because she’d love to help Rachel.

Gabi thinks the guy is lying and Philip says he can’t agree because of how much the witness knew. But Gabi clearly knows Jake better (like how?). Gabi wants to know where Philip got his info from and assumes it has to be Ava.

Jake talks more about the Vitali family sitting down for negotiations with the other family - but Ava wasn’t there. The Vitali family wasn’t happy with the other family but they figured out how to make peace. Ava thinks making peace is a fabulous idea (sure she does).

Xander tells Gwen to book their trip just as Justin walks in. Xander wants to know if Justin played the tape and tells them things didn’t go exactly as planned. In walks Trask who says Justin was busted for trying to blackmail the judge. Apparently the judge contacted Trask after Gwen left him and recorded Justin when he visited upon Trask’s recommendations. Gwen will be charged for trying to entrap the judge. All three will have charges on them.

Jake makes a plan with Ava to have a sit down with Rafe and Gabi and eat and make nice and Ava can show Gabi respect. If Ava shows respect then Gabi won’t feel threatened. (Right, that’s what the problem is)

Gabi says of course Philip got dirt on Jake from Ava she’s a frickin mafia princess. But all of it is lies. Philip wants to know why Gabi thinks he would go to Ava for anything after she made him launder money. He claims he got this info from a background check (because those often talk about hits no one knows about). Philip says her not believing the story doesn’t change that it happened. Now they have to decide what to do. Gabi says Philip fired her so she regains Gabi chic that was the deal. But their deal has changed according to Philip. It’s non negotiable either she signs her company over to him or he takes his info to the police and Jake goes down. He’s sure with the eye witness it’s a airtight case. Philip says “Your company or your boyfriend- which are you going to lose?”

Chloe, new grown up Rachel and Brady at the pumpkin patch taking about what face to carve. Rachel wants Chloe to come help but first Chloe says they have to water her and Philip's special tree.

Ava likes this idea but wants to know how Jakes going to bring Gabi to the table. She wants to know his strategy. Ava will talk to Rafe when Jake has Gabi on board. Ava wants to know where Gabi is, Jake says an unexpected meeting with Philip. Ava hopes nothings wrong. (Because we should buy that)

Gabi is upset at Philip and of course goes off. Daddy only made him CEO out of pity (she’s not exactly wrong) and he was failing until she brought him her company. She sniffs him and says I’ve smelled that aftershave in my house - you were there weren’t you? He and Ava are teaming up.

Chloe wants to know why Brady is annoyed by watering the tree. Rachel wants to know why it’s a special tree. Chloe explains her history with great uncle Philip. Bickering between the adults about Philip.

Trask is truly shocked Justin got involved with those two. Justin says because he is certain Judge Smail's is in EJ's pocket. Trask said he should have tried to prove it through legal means. Her office could have investigated, but instead the spectator will be running a story of his arrest and probable disbarment.

Trask leaves to book Xander and Gwen. Xander is so sorry.

Justin knew he’d retaliate if he felt threatened. Justin was operating out of fear for Bonnie and that clouded his mind and judgement. He wanted to protect Bonnie, but now they’ll be prison pen pals. Xander thinks they’ll find a way out but Justin doesn’t think they can.

Xander feels bad for not keeping Justin out of this mess. But Gwen said it was her stupid idea.

Chloe thanks Rachel for helping her and she wants to water more trees. Brady tells her to stay close. Chloe and Brady argue over him telling Rachel Philip chopped down the tree. Brady’s having a hard time that he lost her again to Philip. If he doesn’t try harder then he could lose Chloe’s friendship. Brady thinks maybe Philip’s finally changing.

Philip wants to know if Gabi is convinced he’s conspiring with Ava because she thinks she smelt his aftershave in her home. She’s obviously losing it. It matters to Gabi where the info came from because Ava is clearly lying because she hates her.

Philip thought Gabi loved Jake more than her company. He tells her to take the file and talk to Jake. If he doesn’t hear from her soon he will talk to the police.

Jake thinks they can figure out a way to make peace. Ava says Angelo always said Jake was smart. And she can’t believe he let him go. But he’s becoming valuable to Ava.

Gwen says she lied to her dad about being a sex worker and now she’s being charged for real. That this is out of control and she has to find a way to explain to Jack without him hating them both. Xander has no regrets. They were going to be together and Gwen was feeling positive about her future but now they are going to lose everything. Xander says they’ll find a way to get back up. Trust him. Trask comes in for Gwen.

Brady and Chloe again. He doesn’t want to jeopardize their friendship and he hopes she’s happy with Philip. That means a lot to Chloe. They hug just as creepy Philip is watching them.

Gabi comes towards Jake looking upset and Jake guesses it didn’t go well with Philip. Gabi says answer my question first Did you kill Jed Zanetti? Jake looks guilty.
 
Thank you for the write up.....Who could have guessed Justin would be as bad at blackmail as he is representing people????
I'd rather NEVER hear from Gwen about how she lied to her father..... the rhymes with witch has lied to everyone in town..... can she just go away.... I'd love for their romantic getaway to happen but have Xander discover Sarah..... leaving Gwen alone on the island....

This show was depressing.

I thought about Sarah too when Gwen and Xander talked about the island.

Justin is dumber than we thought. All he could think about was getting Bonnie out of jail
instead of how wrong it was to blackmail the judge.

I enjoyed the outing with Chloe, Brady and Rachel. Then we saw Philip peeking through the
trees. I guess he came to water the tree too.

What's Gabi going to do if she finds out Jake killed the man?

What will Rafe do when he finds Ava was involved giving Philip the information?
 
Justin loves Bonnie - who knew?

Philip is slime lately, why do they want me to hate him?

Brady - well he's even worse somehow, though I'm glad he finally remembered he has a daughter, even if it was just for emotional blackmail

Ava is dirty.

Gabi is stupid if she doesn't call Philip's bluff. Even if Jake did it, jail's a long hard road from the flimsy case that mysteriously fell into Philip's soiled hands.

This thing with Brady and Philip is getting tiresome.

It almost seems like the mess with Gwen, Xander, Justin, and the judge were meant to be a comedy, only not funny. All of this over Gwen refusing to tell Jack the truth, which never made any sense. She'd already schemed and lied so much and had confessed it all to Jack, so why would including one more lie have mattered that much?
