A slower day in Salem today, as Eric is with Marlena at her home, John evidently having brought her home from the hospital. They chat some about her being attacked, then about Eric's life...in which he talks about giving up his vocation, falling in love with a woman who turned out to be a liar & manipulator & got murdered, and before that, fell in love with a woman who also was a liar & manipulator, but who then fell in love with my good friend. Yep, Eric is feeling very sorry for himself, he mentions the job offer from Nicole at Basic Black, & how he turned up his nose at it. They chat, then are back onto Marlena being attacked, she is not too sure that her attacker is Chad.
Eric is leaving as she is saying this, Abe arriving. He is surprised at her statements, cautions her about Chad, scolds her for taking on Chad as a client when she was doing a profile for the dept. She said Chad was only a person of interest at the time, and denies a conflict.
Lucas & Will are having lunch, talking of Sonny, how Will was at fault, then talking of Adrienne deciding to try again with Justin, even tho divorce is final.
Adrienne is at hospital for her blood test, is very nervous and worried, despite Kayla's attempts to reassure her. Later, out in the park, she runs into Lucas, who can see something is bothering her. She is reluctant, but eventually does tell him about the test for the cancer gene, and how she is waiting. He takes her off to get her mind off of things, and we learn they went for a boat ride, and it did her good. She thanks him for being such a good friend, always knowing exactly what she needs, they hug, he leaves, telling her to let him know the results. Along comes Justin, who thought Adrienne & Lucas were over. She says they are good friends, always will be, that will never change, and can we just not do this. He says o.k., she gets a call from Kayla, who reports going to the lab to get a rush on the test, telling her she will be with her when the results come in.
Theresa is with Eve, having chosen a dress for Paige, as the undertaker needs a decision. Eve takes the dress, cries a bit. They hug, talk, Eve rants some about wanting justice, about Eddie being at the funeral and probably acting as though he cared all these years. She wants to be alone, Theresa leaves.
At the cop shop, Justin is bemoaning Chad not being in jail, he could already be prosecuting him, Abe asks if he is blaming the police dept. No, would never do that. Abe is glad, but tells him to remember that Justin is in charge, keep tough. Abe is gone, Eve arrives, rants a bit about Chad not being in custody, Justin promising they will get him. She really wants that justice by tomorrow, her daughter's funeral. Justin offers to escort her there. She is very touched, he is very kind.
Nicole is pounding on the Kiriakis door, ringing the doorbell, yelling for Theresa to come, complaining about Kate, and Kate comes up. Of course, Kate has her Cheshire cat smile, and snide comments, Brady arrives, Nicole tells of Kate weaseling her way in as Theresa's silent partner. Brady thinks Kate is smart, experienced, live with it. They go in, Nicole still insists she will boot Kate out, Kate talks of suing, Theresa arrives, Nicole lights into her, until Theresa tells about being with her sister, etc. Nicole is sorry, she shoots off her mouth. So, let's get down to business. Kate & Nicole talk a lot, Theresa doesn't have much input, they talk game plans, little boutiques, fancy photographer. Kate does a thumbs down on Eric when Nicole mentions offering him the job, they need experienced, high fashion. Theresa goes to get coffee for the group, but when she returns, Kate & Nicole have all the plans in shape. One is calling the Italian photographer, Nicole will call the designers, Theresa has a fit, she is the designer. Kate says no, she may have talent, but cannot start at the top...they will come, she will study, learn, and work her way up. They leave, Theresa is very upset.
Nicole runs into Eric, is glad to see him. He mentions the job she had offered him, which he had turned down, asking if the offer is still open. She stutters, stumbles a bit, not really answering, her phone rings, she has to take it, goes off to the side.
Brady comes into the living room, Theresa complains, he gives her more or less the same sort of advice that Kate did. However, he assures her more, she has drive, ambition, talent, and will make it. She will be at the top. She suddenly kisses him, he pushes her away. That is not what I expected from this conversation, not at all. He leaves.
Eve comes home, lays down her purse, grabs the dresses on the sofa, folds one then is zipping a garment bag, takes it to the door, hands it to a man (undoubtably from the funeral home). He takes it, nods, she shuts the door, then leans her back up against it, sinking to the floor, and crying.
