Slow moving today, as Lani & Eli are kissing, only he pulls away, cannot do this, be kissing her. Yes he loves her, but he also hates her for not telling him what was up. He is grateful she did what she did to save his grandmother, but he is really upset she did not tell him what was going on, especially when she came back. Lani tries explaining again, proclaims her eternal love, is willing to wait for him to sort things out, if he still wants her, she will be waiting. He just needs to be alone now, and walks away.
Gabi is still upset, figures Rafe must hate her, no he doesn't. She does a bit more of whining, knows she is in big trouble. Rafe leaves, will be back, gives her the phone for her one phone call. She calls Sonny, asking him to come see her, she knows this will be all over the news, she wants Ari to know ahead of time, she has to figure out what to tell her.
Marlena gets a delivery of flowers, thinks it sweet of John, but he did not send them, ahhh, card from Stefano. She is upset, angry they are dealing with this again. John is more positive, we will handle it, won't be a problem. They get all cuddly & cozy.
Justin sees Kate sitting, wonders what she has been up to now, she wants bail posted. He leaves, Kate gets escorted to the interrogation room, there sits Gabi. She asks what she did now, on her wedding day, Gabi (off screen) fills her in. Kate is incredulous, an exploding pacemaker? She wonders how Gabi even came up with it, Gabi claims it was Kate, when she came to comfort Gabi after Stefan died. Kate insists she advised her to go after the CEO position, talk to Shin. Yes, but Gabi went thru files first, different projects, & saw the one from Visionary Bionics. Not only the bionic eye, but the pacemaker. Kate seems floored, but Gabi does her revenge thing, making all hurt as she had been hurt, blah, blah, blah. Kate says her revenge was not needed after a year, but Gabi felt Lani would tell Eli if she did not retain the hold she had, insisting she did it all for love, was afraid of losing all she had, and now she has.
Justin runs into Rafe there, is worried about not hearing from Kayla, despite tons of messages. Was last seen in her office, no longer there. Rafe figures the security footage might be of help, orders it, he & Justin watch it. They see Kayla leaving with someone in scrubs. Does look like it might be Steve.
Hattie sees a help wanted sign in the Pub window, rushes in, begging Roman not to fire her. Oh, she is not fired, it is Kate. Roman definitely not liking that Kate knew about Gina, Stefano for months and said nothing. Hattie defends her, how guilty Kate felt, told all finally, Marlena went to Prague to get Gina, and help Steve. They have a nice conversation, Hattie talking of how “hot” Stefano was in Steve's body, talked romantic, but no, she did not succumb to his sweet words. She admits she had someone else on her mind, (is a mite awkward here) knows how she may appear to others, but only one kind of man appeals to her. She mentions Roman being so good looking, etc. & that sort is what she appreciates, but knows Roman doesn't have any interest in her. He laughs, never said that, Hattie stops abruptly, then smiles as she dons her apron, while Roman goes behind the bar.
Kayla wants out of wherever she & Steveano are, he insists they have to stay, til it is safe. She is becoming annoyed at his cavalier attitude, brings up his woman he supposedly loves, thinks she doesn't exist. Oh, yes she does, says he, I sent her a gift for Valentine's Day, wish I could take her to dinner, some champagne, spend the night showing her how much I love her. Kayla is infuriated, do you remember this was our wedding day. Steveano says we are divorced, they go round and round a bit with how he has treated her, he finally agrees to tell her who the woman is......Marlena. Kayla cannot believe this, but he babbles about his “queen”, she says he sounds like Stefano. Well, that is because I am. He talks of his essence in Steve's body, she thinks it untrue, he rips off the patch, Rolf did a good job, fixed the eye for me. He says Steve was on his way home to Kayla when his men captured him. Kayla is beside herself, figures Steve still has to be there, addresses Steve directly, pleading with him to come back to her. Steveano laughs, good job, Kayla. But your Steve Johnson is dead. Kayla wants to leave, he grabs her arm. I am a wanted man, you are a good bargaining chip.
