The best nights to see the Super Flower Moon
are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The moon rises a little later each night as its
phases shift.
Here are the moonrise times for the Phoenix
area:
On Tuesday, the moonrise is about 7 p.m. The
moon will be 99% full.
On Wednesday, the full moon rises at 8:11
p.m.
On Thursday, the moon rises at 9:23 p.m.
Adam Block, who works at Steward Observatory
in the University of Arizona’s Department of
Astronomy, predicts the best viewing will be from
4 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Right before the sun comes up, the moon will be
in total eclipse on the horizon.
Block said the lighting should be very nice that
morning with the moon taking on a red-orange
color.
Look to the west to see the moon that morning.
