I come here today asking for prayers for my friend and co-worker.

I can not stop crying for a sweet wonderful man who has become a dear friend. He had a knee replacement this summer at the young age of 51. There have been problems with it, and he was scheduled for surgery yesterday to remove it. While in recovery, Dave's heart stopped, and they were able to get it going again. However, there were neurological complications which caused him to go into a coma. His organs are now shutting down, and recovery is not possible.

Please pray that Dave is not suffering, and that he will have a peaceful journey onward to heaven. I also ask for prayers for his mother and sister.

Now I must make myself presentable to screen children with disabilities today. I will laugh, encourage, and praise them. I will do this because Dave would be very unhappy with me if I didn't. That doesn't mean that my smile will go all the way up to my eyes.

Oh RS, prayers for strength for the family, and for the friends are going to our Heavenly Father as I write this. I cannot express at this moment the thoughts I am having, but know that the Lord is there, and will escort him to Eternal peace, and will become free from the pain, and from fear, wow, this is a heart grabber. He will be in the hands of our Heavenly Father, and far from any further distress. My heart goes out to the family, and to you all, the friends of Dave, and know that the prayers for his family will continue.... Keep us informed Missie Squirrel, I am very interested....

My sympathy, thoughts and prayers go out to you, your friend and his family. May he rest in peace.

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
From a song from Céline Dion, called "Fly". I hope it helps.

Thank you for all of your prayers and kind words for Dave and his family.

As required here, 3 EEGs (electroencephalograms) were done today.....12:30, 2:30, and at 6:00 this evening. All showed no brain activity so all life support was removed at 6:30. Now it is a matter of a few more minutes or hours. My boss and I are now notifying our friends and co-workers.

I am truly sorry for your loss and for Dave;s family. I pray that the Lord engulf all of you in his arms and give the comfort that is so needed in this time.
