Unfortunately, I think we're stuck with Big Jim for a while. If he's gone, there isn't an ultimately evil character for the others to be challenged with fighting.
I watched the pilot, but wasn't impressed enough to return for more. However, I did just pick up the audio book of Kings original novel at the library. While I don't necessarily like all of King's stuff, I've enjoyed most. I'm only on the second disc and already lost trying to keep up with so many characters. It reminds of The Stand, which I truly did enjoy, (both the audio book and the min series.
