It's a family owned and run Pub that also serves food, so he could be gathering bar glasses to wash or any number of things. As a minor I worked behind a bar at a pizza place that served beer, wine and some spirits along with water, soda/pop and coffee. I could not pull a beer or get a glass of wine or of course the spirits, but it was legal.
