OPERATING ROOM
Several doctors are towering over Jack, holding an endless amount of tools, continuing to try to remove the bullet.
Doctor1: How's he doing?
Doctor2: Good, just...
Suddenly, the machine's hooked up to Jack begin to spiral out of control.
Doctor2: Stop! Stop, we're losing him! Code Blue! Call a Code Blue!
SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL - MAIN FLOOR
Everyone is comforting Jennifer, Abigail and Melanie, when suddenly the 'Code Blue' alarms begin to go off.
Code Blue - Doctors needed to operating room three, main floor
Jennifer: Oh my gosh! What's happening to Jack?!
Hope: <grabbing hold of Jennifer> Don’t worry, just calm down. Its probably just a false alarm.
Jennifer: FALSE ALARM!?
Suddenly, Lexie comes running out of the room
Lexie: MELANIE GET OVER HERE! WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Jennifer: Oh my gossh…
Melanie: I’ll tell you everything, don’t worry. <runs off>
OPERATING ROOM
Lexie has taken over, with assistance from Melanie. However, the other doctors are still in the room, trying their best to help.
Lexie: You need to stabilize him! We can’t lose him!
Doctor: We’re trying, but he’s too weak. He lost so much blood.
Melanie: LOOK! We are going to save him! Now, just….!
Suddenly the machines begin beeping even more.
Doctor: We’re losing him!!
Lexie: C’mon Jack, don’t do this.
Melanie: Lexie, we need to get that bullet out of the pulmonary artery, or we’re going to lose him!
Lexie: I’M TRYING!
Doctor: Dr. Carver, his blood pressure dropping, rapidly, we need to…
Lexie: Got it. <pulls out the bullet on a pair of prongs> How’s he now? <wiping her forehead>
Doctor: Good, he’s stable. You did it Dr. Carver.
Melanie: Oh thank goodness! Can I go tell Jennifer?
Lexie: Sure, just hook him up to a breathing tube, and he should be okay. We need to increase the antidote he’s receiving.
Doctor: Already on it.
SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Jennifer is standing with Bo, Hope and Carly, bawling, along with Abigail.
Jennifer: How could this happen!? How could I not have known!? <tears>
Hope: It’s not your fault, it’s never going to be your fault.
Jennifer: Oh my gosh! Melanie! How’s Jack?
Melanie: He’s perfect. Lexie removed the bullet, and he’s doing fine. He’s just in recovery, and he probably won’t wake up until tomorrow, just like my dad.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN -
SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
After spending a night at the Brady house, Hope drove Jennifer and Abigail over to the hospital around 8:00am. When they arrived, Melanie was already there working, and turned out to have spent the night working a shift. As soon as Melanie notices Jennifer, she walks right over to her.
Jennifer: Oh Melanie!
Melanie: Hey..
Jennifer: Hows’ Jack and Daniel?
Melanie: Better, a lot better. I’ve been in and out of both rooms, and they’ll be ready for visitors soon.
Hope: That’s great!
Abigail: Better than great
Melanie: Jen, can I talk to you for a second?
Jennifer: Yeah, of course.
Jennifer and Melanie make there way into the back room.
Melanie: So, where do you plan on going from here?
Jennifer: What do you mean?
Melanie: Well, now that you’ve realized that Jack was never on a ‘walkabout’ or whatever, what does this mean for you and my dad?
Jennifer: Honestly Mel, I really don’t know.
Melanie: Well, not to pushy or anything, but just don’t hurt him/
Jennifer: I would never hurt Daniel, never, no matter what. Honestly, I love him, I really do. He’s been so…

DIMERA MANSION – FRONT DOOR
Standing outside, knocking on the door are Chloe and Nicole. As they continue to knock, finally Kate answers.
Kate: What do you want?
Chloe: Oh c’mon Kate, aren’t you happy to see your two most favorite people in the world?
Kate: Oh of course, you two just light up a room.
Nicole: Aww, Kate, are you upset that your hubby’s been confiscated.
Chloe: Don’t forget EJ and Peter.
Nicole: Aha, yep them two.

Nicole: Oh, I just wanted to my sister. Is she here?
Kate: No, she’s at the police station, probably kissing your husband through bars. Oh, but Chloe, Daniel’s probably at the hospital dreaming about Jennifer…

EJ is standing at Rafe’s desk, getting interrogated by Rafe himself (which we all know he has been longing for), when Taylor walks in.
EJ: Taaylor!

Right after her conversation with Melanie, Jennifer is interrupted by Maxine, who tells her that the doctors have finished up with Daniel. Jennifer told Melanie that she could go first, but Melanie said that she would visit with him when she was with Jack. Jennifer walked over, opened the door, and there laid an awake Daniel.
Jennifer: Heeey!
Daniel: Hey, did I miss much?
Jennifer: No, are you kidding?! The DiMera’s were taken into custody and you and Jack were brought here shortly after.
Daniel: Jack…how is he?
Jennifer: He’s good, I haven’t seen him yet though.
Suddenly, things got very quiet.
Jennifer: Daniel?
Daniel: Yeah?
Jennifer: You’re not saying anything…
Daniel: Well, because I’m upset.
Jennifer: About…?
Daniel: Losing my fiancé.
Jennifer: Daniel..
Daniel: Jen, its okay. I understand..
Jennifer: Understand what?! I never said that I was going to leave you.
Daniel: No, but I’m not going to let you stay with me.
Jennifer: What? I…I don’t unders…
Daniel: Jen, as much as I love you, as much as I truly love you, there’s no way that I am going to keep you from Jack. You loved him, and he loved you for years. You two have been through far more than you and I could ever go through, and there’s no way that I am going to keep you from being happy.
Suddenly, Melanie opens the door.
Melanie: Dad! <runs over and hugs him>
Daniel: Hey Sweetheart..
Melanie: Jen, you can go see Jack now.
Jennifer: Okay….thanks….

Taylor: He was just behind the whole drug thing or whatever, and half that was his fathers, wasn’t it?
EJ: TAYLOR!
Rafe: You killed my sister!?
EJ: No, I…I didn’t….Rafe I swear…
Taylor: What? Isn’t that what he’s here for?
Rafe: You son of a…. <stands up>

Jennifer: Daniel, I really just want to tell you how grateful I have been for the past few months. Honestly, you lifted my spirits so much, and made me remember who I am. You showed me that it is possible for me to love again.
Daniel: Jen, I'm not dying. You can save the deathbed confession until...
Jennifer: <kisses him on the cheek> No regrets?
Daniel: Not one. Now, go see Jack.
Jennifer: <stands up> I will, but thank you, sooo much.
Jennifer leaves the room, tells Melanie she can go back in, and pauses outside the door. She leans her back onto it, and lets a tear roll down the side of her face.
Jennifer: <to herself, mumbled> Its not that I don't love Jack. Its that I don't want to let Daniel go.

Just as Rafe prepares to take a swing at EJ, Bo and Roman come wondering around the corner, breaking up the fight.
Bo: WOAH WOAH WOAH! <Grabs EJ>
Roman: YOU TWO! STOP IT! JUST STOP IT! <Grabs Rafe>
Rafe: HE DID IT! HE KILLED MY SISTER! HE KILLED ARIE!
Taylor: WHAT? I don't understand...ISN'T THIS WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT?!
Bo: No, EJ was taken into custody for keeping Jack Devereaux as a prisoner in his basement for nineish months.
Taylor: WHAT!?
EJ: Taylor, I'm so, I'm sooo sorry.
Taylor: HOW COULD YOU!? HOW COULD YOU HOLD AN INNOCENT MAN HOSTAGE IN YOUR BASEMENT!

Jack and Jennifer are sitting on the couch, flipping through one of Alice's scrapbooks.
Jennifer: Oh my gosh, look at this! <laughs>
Jack: She was so little!
Suddenly, Abby pokes her head between them.
Abby: Aww! That's me!
Jennifer: Sure is.
Jack: We need to go through all of these.
Jennifer: Agreed, lets just spend the day doing it.
Abby: I'm so happy about you two.
Jennifer: What do you mean?
Abby: Well, its truly the best feeling ever when you know that your parents love each other more than life itself. <hugs them>
THE BRADY PUB -
Daniel and Carly come walking in on a lunch break. Not noticing, but at the back, there sit Chloe and Nicole. Daniel has been informed about Carly's drug addiction, and helped her recover.
Carly: We have to hurry, we only have like twenty minutes <sits down>
Daniel: <sits down> Don't worry, twenty minutes is lots of time.
Carly: I still haven't thanked you.
Daniel: For what?
Carly: Getting me off the medication. If you didn't when you did, I probably would have lost my license. It just proves how good of a friend you are.
Daniel: Well, you're any amazing friend too, which is a good thing, since you are Melanie's mom.
Carly: Here, pass me a menu.
As Daniel passes Carly the menu, her purse falls off the table. The two bend over to pick up the contents, and lift their head up at the same time. After eyeing each others lips, the two kiss.
Chloe, sitting on the other side of the room with Nicole, both have excellent view of this.
Chloe: Nooo...
Nicole: Aww, c'mon Chloe! EJ and I have been apart for a month now, and all I have is one thing to say...
Chloe: Which is...
Nicole: All the single ladies, all the single ladies, all the single ladies, put your hands up!
Chloe: Oh oh oh...
Waitress: <walks over> Can I get you ladies anything?
Nicole: Yeah, two martinis, and hold the vegetable.
Chloe: And two single men.
Waitress: <laughs> I'll try my best.
