Let the countdown begin for the history-making one-year time jump on "Days of Our Lives", which sources have confirmed will happen 5 weeks from today on the show's 54th anniversary episode on Friday, November 8.

That is one heck of a spoiler. Kristen and Sarah will both have had their babies.

I'm hoping this allows them to correct storylines where they've written themselves into a corner. It also seems that this is why so many people are pregnant. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that Gabi has a miracle pregnancy too. Then, they can skip straight to having the kids on screen without the fake bumps, etc. for months.

I wonder how they're going to handle the leap? Are we, the audience, going to leap ahead or are all the characters leaping? Meaning, will we pick up a year in the future and have to uncover what's happened or are the characters going to find themselves thrust into the future?

So far, we don't know if it's suddenly a year later that happened naturally for the characters and we see flashbacks as to what happened in the "past year", or if they all wake up one day and it's a year later and they have no idea how it happened and have to try and figure it out.

The characters will be living a year ahead, while we, the audience, learn of various events via flashbacks. The jump is to begin Nov. 8th. My question is how long does it last? I mean, will they be ahead in Salem for several months, then slowly just be living back in the present?
Because, Nov. 8, 2019 becomes Nov. 8, 2020. So Christmas we see will be in 2020, with flashbacks to "last year" 2019. However, on Jan. 1......in Salem it would be 2021, while WE, the audience are now in 2020. So...will Salem always be living a year ahead of the viewing audience? Heck, they already film 8 mos. ahead, and now they are even going to jump in time? Very confusing, to say the least.

I never thought I'd say this, but - you're overthinking this. Let's not pretend that Days is actually telling a 2019 story right now. They use their own special calendar, and every month is marked "DA PLOT." It has 4 holidays. Birthdays are suggestions only. :)

I think their fast forward is to "current time".
I dont think it will actually be a year ahead date wise.

Just four more weeks until the historic Days event. What will happen to all of your favorite Salemites? It all begins Friday, November 8.

At the fan event I attended a couple weeks ago, the actor alluded to the show explaining everything through flashbacks. This was direct from the source.

They celebrated 2019 beginning just as Jack walked into Doug's Place, so when they move ahead a year, I think we'd go from November 2019 to November 2020 and New Year's would celebrate the beginning of 2021 (unless they downplay the date, and just say Happy New Year this time around).

If this jump ahead and flashbacks is going to be like This Is Us, that just may be the straw that breaks the camel's back for this person who has watched since day one of Days.

I know many of you love that show, but I couldn't stand it with the jumping back and forth. I ditched it from my list.
