Days: Beyond Salem - chit-chat, plot comments, etc

as the episodes appear, we'll chat, hopefully summarize, etc. I heard each episode is 50 minutes...but not suree of that. Also, will appear early a.m. but who knows?
I’m watching on the free Peacock app.on my phone.

Today's episode was another strong one. In-character behaviour, a plot that moves quickly, no boring recaps (e.g., John told Carrie the details off-screen), with just enough information to keep the scenes rolling (did anyone else forget that Chad modelled for Countess W?).

It's so much stronger than the original show, but to be fair to the writing team, writing 5 compact episodes of a limited series is far less daunting than a week's worth of daily soap episodes. I mean if they spend all their plot points by Friday, they might not come up with a new idea for Monday.

Glad they are not calling the show a drama, cuz it is definitely a farce!. LOL. Just finished watching.....Leo is sure hitting on a lot of the characters.......Could have done without Eli/Lani porn scene at beginning. Have to say they have done well with the Sonny recast.....

I have no idea how Billy Flynn is getting through these scenes with Leo. I think he need to be allowed more humorous scenes on the regular show. I think maybe we saw a funnier side from him when he and Gabi were getting together after Abby died. I think he could totally carry a funnier role.

Also I watched the regular show right after and just wow. Maybe they need to cut that one to a half our so we'd have no need for flashbacks that just happened and openings that were from the ending the day before.

I have such a feeling that NBC wants to stream more and more of their shows, maybe even regular Days.
Leo Stark is having so much fun with this short series. When he casually joined Will & Sonny in the shower, I was glad I wasn't drinking anything, as I would have had an accident all over the keyboard. And when they kicked him out, he was just as casual. Also, the guy in drag, (dressed like Lisa Rinna) ...when Billie Reed asks "who are you supposed to be"...& he replies about that famous gal from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Lisa Rinna) & she says she never watches it. LOLOL. Paulina has wayyy too much dialogue, in my opinion......but got a kick of Sister Mary Moira showing up to ask for a donation for starving children, Anna not being suspi cious when the nun knew all about her, the family, etc. Cool, tho, when it turned out Kristen stole the necklace. That was a neat surprise ending....

It's a new day in Beyond Salem.

Leo was the best one again. You could see Chad in the background trying not to laugh.

I forgot Chad worked for Countess W, but he looked different than.

Michelle calling Paulina about the robbery than hanging up was fun. Anyone else
wonder how Michelle got the diamond since it was stolen?

The ISA must use supersonic jets to get people from Europe to the USA fast. Or
maybe they have magic carpets.

Sister Mary aka Kristen was cute with her ruler.

The chocolate that Tony bought must be heavenly since it cost $4000.

What's Brady going to do when he finds out what Kristen did? And will she come back to Salem?
And how will she look :)

Today was the best episode of Beyond Salem. I also noticed that in the regular series Paulina mentioned spending the weekend in Miami.

So the storeroom the two thieves were in was the same one they have used in previous shows when I think Kayla was being held and a few others I cant remember right now during the fake Stefano story line

The thing I like about the streaming show is the connection to the history, the caper, the new locations (it's so nice not to look at the square or everyone living at the Salem Inn or the two mansions), and the fun. The main show has been desperately lacking in fun, variety, and building on the show history (vs. rewriting it willy nilly). It's just love triangle, obsessed psycho kidnapping, mind control and zombie characters, love quadrangle... over and over.

It'd be nice if this were worked into the main show. Maybe for sweeps twice a year, bring in some old characters for a storyline that involves a bunch of characters on some mystery or adventure for a week or two, using a new set. I remember when sweeps was always exciting.

This was by far the best episode of the week. I was laughing so much at Leo, and I knew when Sonny and Will were in the shower that Leo was going to join them. I actually like Chad in these scenes too and he is more fun than he has been in months on the regular show. I liked his expressions when Leo was talking like he was trying not to laugh. Leo being Leo was funny hitting on the ISA agent with Billie.

The scenes with Billie and the drag queen were fun, too.

The Miami scene was better today, and I liked the meeting between Paulina and Shane.

I was glad to see Austin call Anna out about the amount of money for the necklace, which means like Ben wanting the brooch for Ciara that these guys had no idea how expensive these jewels are. I knew if John explained why he needed the necklace that level headed Carrie would have him take it.

I figured Sister Mary Moira was Kristen, and the ending scene with Kristen was a great one.

No Ben and Ciara today! That was a great change. I'm sure we can figure out how they were spending their time.

Can the regular show start getting better storylines like this? Some of this should be incorporated in the main show.

I forgot Chad worked for Countess W, but he looked different than.
You mean when he was taller with darker hair, LOL.

Nice joke at Shane about how he's familiar, or they've met before.... no, they've never starred together that I can find, but 'Sister, Sister' was up against 'The Nanny' for a couple of seasons.
Thanks, I was wondering if that was another "inside" that flew over my head, because I couldn't remember them together.

I looked on the web to see if these two shows had a crossover episode. I did not find out if they did, but on a message board it was mentioned that they used the same living room/kitchen set while the two shows were running concurrently.

Just watched episode 4.

Highlight: Sonny, Will, and Chad in drag….they were hilarious. And Chad was a natural! They stole the show.

Ciara and Ben….interesting party. Definitely unexpected and was fun to watch.

Carrie and Austin…a shocking twist at the end.

Kristen and Billie….cringe…was nice to see Kristen but the writing for that scene was just lazy and awful. Disappointed in this segment.

Overall a fun episode.
Today the Miami crew were not shown, and neither were Marlena, Tony, and Anna.

oH, MY GOSH, today was truly a fun episode. Leo takes Chad, Will & Sonny to some drag club, where they were hoping to get hold of the emerald, but the one in charge said there would be a drag contest, winner gets the emerald. So the 3 guys (Leo says he is disqualified from ever participating) get dressed, have to strut out.........individually....it is a stitch and then some. Meanwhile Ben & Ciara attend some party hosted by Sophia Faversham & her husband, they think it is a sort of New Orleans style party with those masks on a stick........Ben claims to be Austin Reed, Ciara says she is Princess Greta Von Onberg .....then their hosts tell them this is a different kind of party.........a sex party, sort of mix it up, in other words, go have sex with someone else. They pretend to go along....but manage to get out of their "sticky" situations. Chad won the competion, gets the emerald, Leo steals it, is ready to abscond, Shane appears right in front of him. Gotta say, lots of giggles today. Lots.
