Kate’s guilt is eating her up, she talks to Stefano’s portrait on the wall, telling him to stop looking at her like that, she never intended for Theo to get shot, she knows what she did. Chad walks in, asks what did she do. Kate covers, saying she meant what she didn’t do, and that was to get DiMera out of their financial hole. Chad has some news for her, and breaks it slowly, about Will being alive, telling her the whole story. Kate cannot imagine how Susan thought making Will think he was EJ would work…..Chad says just she is nuts. Kate decides to go see Theo, tells Chad to stay home, she needs to be alone, just to process this all with Will.

Meanwhile, Will is at Marlena’s apt., Marlena has brought Ari back, Gabi is trying to encourage her to go to Will, who gives her a couple of compliments, Ari holds back, just standing there, but suddenly rushes up, throws her arms around a surprised Will, saying I missed you, Daddy. Gabi has her show Will a picture she drew for him, of Sonny, Mommy, me and you. Then there is something about a little pony game, and Gabi says time to go, asking Will if she can hug him before she leaves. Marlena has watched it all in silence.

After they are gone, Will is upset he cannot remember anyone, even the daughter, asks Marlena if she can help. She mentions a slew of tests at the hospital, then hypnosis. Eager Will wants to do that right now, so it is done. He recalls a big table, paper turkey in middle. Mentions a white haired woman sitting there, an old guy carving the turkey, giving the wishbone to the kid sitting next to him. Marlena asks if his name is Johnny, but Will doesn’t hear anyone call the kid by name. His mom sits across of him, but when Marlena says to describe her, it is dark hair, glasses, protruding teeth. Roger sitting next to her. Marlena ends the session, Will “wakes up”, is disappointed to learn he only remembered last year’s T Day dinner. He agrees to the hospital tests, but wants to just go for a walk now.

Abe is on the warpath, finding JJ in Theo’s room, wonders if he is trying to finish Theo off. Lani tries to calm him down, but Abe is on a roll. He orders JJ out of the room, never come here again, as Kayla comes in, telling them to take this out of the room. They all leave, Abe orders JJ again, JJ apologizes, leaves. Abe hopes Lani has broken it off with JJ. When he checks with Kayla, Theo is doing well, but nothing has changed.

Later Claire comes to see Theo, has written a song for him, plays it from her phone (we only hear a few notes). Kayla comes in as it ends, tells Claire it was beautiful.

Later, at home, Claire talks with Tripp, Hope arrives. She has a few questions, says they did not find anything on Theo’s phone except some calls from Andre. Hopefully. Forensics will be able to find out from the cloud who Theo might have been talking to before hand. Claire & Hope both cannot imagine why Theo was down by that warehouse, with the “gun” that got thru the security codes. If he wanted to test the device, he just would not be running away when JJ told him to stop, etc. Tripp is looking on guiltily as this talk goes on. When Hope & Claire leave, Steve arrives, can see his son is upset about something. Tripp admits he is bothered by something, has to talk about it, or will explode. No, not Theo, or Claire. Well, evidently he tells Steve something about Kate (we don’t hear) as Steve is explaining how Kate pushed Kayla to reveal the anonymous donor. Steve tells Tripp not to worry, Kayla will never tell what he did, she has his back, won’t testify against him, etc. Steve has to leave, again says not to worry. Kayla has his back. When he is gone, Tripp mutters, “and I have hers”.

Sami sits in the park, (gosh am so glad such mild weather in Salem for end of Nov., leaves still on the trees, etc. ) looking at her phone, Sonny comes along. She admits she was too rough on Paul, he says yes she was. She talks about some high school paper she did, about a book, where a couple got 3 wishes via a monkey’s paw, and everyone got screwed up. And she spent all this time wishing Will was alive, but never thought to add that he would remember her. Sonny says same for him.

She calls Marlena, who doesn’t answer…purposely.

So, naturally, Sami shows up at the apt., has to find out, learns neither seeing Ari, or the hypnosis helped. Sami is impatient, what do we try now. Marlena warns her to slow down, pull back, this is going to take time. Have patience. We have to be careful. Marlena has been doing research, talking to memory loss specialists. But she has to leave, has patients at hospital. Just take it easy.

After she leaves, Sami picks up a book with some bookmarks in it, obviously something her mom had been reading. She is turning pages, getting interested. She suddenly puts the book down, calls someone on her cell, saying she has a job for them.

Kate is at the hospital, outside Theo’s room, waits til all leave, goes in, telling Theo how sorry she is, how she should have filled him in with more info, loves him so much, please open your eyes so I can tell you this.

Abe calls Hope, while she is with Claire & Tripp, wants to see her right now, mentions finding JJ in Theo’s room. Hope notes she told him specifically to stay away. He tells her to come to the hospital.

Lani follows JJ to his room, finds him kneeling on the floor with Theo’s bloody shirt in his hands. She doesn’t blame JJ, knows it was an accident, has tried to reason with her father, who is just too upset. She loves him, he loves her, too. But, says he cannot see her anymore.

Hope is with Abe, who wants her to fire JJ, claiming he disobeyed a direct order. Hope notes Abe appointed her as he trusted her judgement, she has done everything by the book. He asks if she is hesitant because JJ is a family member. Indignant Hope says of course not. But she will not fire JJ. So, Abe fires her instead. Hope is taken aback, but Abe is firm. Commissioner is appointed by mayor, he is exercising his authority, she is terminated, effective immediately. Clean out your desk.

Will is walking thru the square, stops and reads the dedication plaque for Tom & Alice Horton.

Elsewhere, Kate wanders aimlessly, at odds with herself, upset. She sits on a bench, tears come to her eyes. A hand reaches out to offer her a folded handkerchief. She looks up. It is Will.

Thanks, Poirot.

I loved the scenes with Will and Ari. It was cute when he played
ponies with her.

Maybe Abe is having some kind of mental breakdown and that's why
he's acting the way he is
. I guess Hope still gets to be a Salem cop.

I thought it was interesting JJ broke up with Lani and she didn't break
up with him.

I enjoyed the last scene when Will gave Kate his handkerchief. I wondered
though how many young men carry them.

Kate’s guilt is eating her up,
Still don't buy it. I wanted Chad to fry her.
[Abe] wonders if [JJ] is trying to finish Theo off.
Good night I'm sick of Abe. I wanted him in a story, and we get this? Sure, he's grieving (despite all the holes in this story), but WHY ON EARTH would he think JJ was here to finish Theo off?
She loves him, he loves her, too. But, says he cannot see her anymore.
I did not see this coming.
Commissioner is appointed by mayor, he is exercising his authority, she is terminated, effective immediately. Clean out your desk.
I'm really sick of this story. And I'm sick of Salem's in-crowd and its loose political shenanigans, and only having a mayor/commissioner when DA PLOT demands it. Get real.
Kate...loves [Theo] so much
Still don't buy it. I hope Theo wakes up, recalls all, spills all.

I honestly wasn't really feeling it today, it seemed like such a mediocre episode, my interest wasn't present. For all the meaty episodes they left us off with last week I feel this was a weak episode. Okay yes I also admit I was disappointed there was no Kristen today explaining Tuesday's episode.

:angry::angry::angry::confused:Angry Abe: Does he think he's running a petty dictatorship? Anywhere else, JJ couldn't be fired on his whim. He'd be protected by civil service laws and due process. He can fire Hope, but does he realize how bad it will look when people learn that he dismissed his brand-new commissioner because she refused to be the instrument of his personal revenge. And Andre can't be ordered to take a lie detector test. Finally, he gets a big "what-da-hell" for asking former coma victim JJ if he's ever seen somebody in a coma. In Salem, half the town has been in a coma at one time or another.

:sick:Kate: OK, she does feel guilty about Theo, but does she feel guilty enough to fess up and get poor JJ off the hook? Nobody should hold their breath here.

:sick:Sami: She was actually reading a book? Not only is this bizarre, but it could be dangerous.

In the town where he's only been appointed mayor, and EJ was actually elected? Probably not an issue. LOLOLOL

I thought this was very choppy. It was obvious this one had been heavily edited. People only there at the beginning and the end. Some Steve/Kayla stuff was cut.

Maybe Sami can give Hope lessons in how to be a grandmother. I think Sami cares more about Ari than her younger kids.

Hope comes to see Claire a day after she fainted, asks how she is briefly and then spends the rest of the time talking about her own issues. No. And can Claire please go see Marlena?

And seriously are those Alison Sweeney's (Sami) personal clothes? They don't look very Sami-like at all nor do they seem like the best style combo for tv.

I did not like Chad being the one to fill in Kate on Will. Stop with this pseudo-son nonsense already. Kate has plenty of her own children. Marlena should have told Kate or even Sami. And then Kate's next step is to go see Theo??? Not to see Will or Lucas? I'm sorry but they dropped the ball here. I did like the ending though--that was actually suspenseful.

Abe can go take 10,000 seats. Where is angry Brady when you need him?

I really am having a difficult time understanding the WHY of all the cuts/deletions of scenes. The show knows it has 37 minutes of screen time, so why film 45 minutes? And why eliminate important scenes, then give us "filler" scenes?

i.e. John runs out after an upset Sami, but their conversation is eliminated, as is Paul's thank you to Sonny for defending him. But we get Kate staring out a window, Sami sitting on a bench, looking at pics on her phone, Marlena taking Ari away in a stupid excuse, so Gabi can sit awkwardly with Will?????

Also felt that having Chad tell Kate about Will was wrong on every level imaginable.
