Days of Our Lives
Tuesday, April 4, 2017

The eye rolling continues today. Hope & Rafe are at the Pub with Kayla & Steve, and have been told of Steve's learning he has a son and finding Tripp. Steve tells of having to tell Tripp how Ava died, the ISA...his story of being told to take care of her.

The kids are all present in the loft, Tripp thanking them for letting him crash there, with them all assuring him it is o.k., he can stay as long as he wants. A bit of conversation about him finding his dad, learning his mom was dead, with both Ciara & Claire chiming in at her not being a good person, having kidnapped Ciara's mom, aunt Kayla, your dad. Joey adds a bit. They all are hungry, opt to order pizza, Joey & Theo will go get it. Tripp has to run an errands, leaves. The other two guys leave to get the pizza, Claire takes the opportunity to apologize to Ciara for the things she said to Ciara, after she came in, interrupting the makeout session.on the sofa. Claire thinks it probably was a good thing she came in, after all, that sofa is where Joey clips his toenails. She & Theo want their first time to be special, so will go elsewhere.

Ciara is all good with it all, leaves to run an errand. She goes to the Pub, running into her mom & Rafe, who seem to be arguing. (Hope's phone had gone off, Rafe grabs it, sees she has a spyware app on it, is upset). Rafe gets a call from Raines, goes to the side, Ciara tells her mom about the letter she wrote to Theo at Gramma Julie's suggestion, and how Theo has not said a word. She should never have done it. Yes, it was the right thing to do, proud of her, hugs, and Ciara leaves. Rafe returns.

He gets Hope to tell him where she planted the bug, is at first not pleased, but then agrees is probably the only way to get Deimos. She claims the reception is spotty, everything is not being recorded, could he take a look at it. Kiss, kiss.

The guys return with the pizza, in comes Steve & Kayla looking for Tripp. They stay for a while, Joey tells them that both Claire & Ciara know he was the one who offed Ava, they figured it out when he & Jade went to LA. Kayla & Steve are not happy with that news, too many people know the truth. (Hope does, as well) Eventually, they leave, will talk to Joey later.

Meanwhile, Tripp sits in the park, along comes Angelo, Ava's cousin. Tripp says most of those he has met did not much care for his mother, he wanted another perspective. Angelo goes on about her being a good person, her father drugging her, etc. She changed, especially after losing the 2 things she cherished most. Her baby, and Tripp's Pop. She went off after that, did things, just wanted revenge. He claims Steve used Ava, played her. this does not sit well with Tripp. Now he gives him a folder. Guess What. Tripp has inherited the Vitali fortune. Martino only had one child, and Ava had Tripp. (who is supposed to be dead, therefore why is there a trust set up for a dead person?) Tripp is astonished, so many zeroes, Angelo tells him he will get payments, not lump sum, and not to blow it all on women & booze.

While out for the pizza, Theo tells Joey about Ciara coming in when he & Claire were about to have sex. Joey says he knows he sounds like his parents, but don't let anyone talk you into doing anything you are not ready to do. Take your time, so you will know if it is right.

When Claire & Theo are alone in the loft, she comes rushing out, all giddy, as she got a response from a record company on her music submission. Kissing, they should celebrate. He suggests the restaurant in the square, she suggests Green Mountain Lodge, where they can finish what they started the other day. Theo says he would rather the restaurant. Claire says o.k., but you can tell she is not happy about it.

And up in Canada, Brady returns from the store, having gotten some groceries, Nicole just got Tate to sleep, tries to talk him into going back home with Tate. No go. He makes cheese appetizers, they set the table, not too happy about the neighbors inviting themselves there for dinner.

Later, the 4 are sitting at the table, and the nosy Hillary wants to know how the two met. Nicole goes to refill the wine glasses with the very good sangria, Brady tells of being introduced by his grandfather, the friendship that developed that grew into more. Nicole overhears this. Later, Brady & Hillary have gone to check on the porkroast, Scooter is again pondering just where he has seen her before. She just moved there, so doesn't really know anyone, she must just look like someone.

Later on, she is holding Holly, rocking her, big burp, she puts Holly down, but her sweater has to be wiped off. No one else is in the room. She stupidly decides to remove her sweater, puts on a sweatshirt. Behind her, Scooter has walked in, sees her FROM THE BACK, & now remembers where he knows her from. Misty Circle, an actress. Nicole is embarrassed, zips up her sweatshirt, is sorry, then notes she is not an actress. Scooter mentions the film title, classic, don't make films like that anymore. Nicole is denying, he is mistaking her for someone else. Scooter is insistent, Nicole is just as insistent........I am NOT her. Brady & Hillary come in, Hillary asking, WHO her husband thinks Nicole is.

My goodness, this Hillary and Scooter thing is beyond ridiculous. Why the writers would think having Scooter continue to annoy Nicole is entertaining is beyond me. I'm also sick and tired of the kiddie pool! And now it looks like Tripp is just going to become another villain on a soap that already has too many bad guys. Jeez.

Believe it or not, Rafe and Hope were the best part of the show! But that's not saying much.

Aren't the tweenies on a bit early?? I mean it's not summer anywhere but Salem. Or does this mean we are going to be subjected to more wonderful teen stories as the real and true summer arrives. :sarcasm:

Thank you for watching this. It will be last on my viewing schedule tonight.

I have no idea who thinks the current stuff airing is interesting. Or am I just a cranky old lady? I'm sure that's it.

... I have no idea who thinks the current stuff airing is interesting. Or am I just a cranky old lady?

And the writers thought this was good storytelling!

I swear these folks live in their own little world, and don't have a clue about good story telling. Watching my basement pumps get rid of the incoming rain water is more interesting.

Angelo was going on and on about Tripp having his mother's eyes, in fact, he looked exactly like his mother at that age....Claire is devious...Ciara mopey, Joey guilt ridden. Thank goodness Jade was sleeping most of the day.

When you think about it....only 2 things happened today, Tripp found out he was rich, and Scooter figured out why he thought Nicole looked familiar.

Oh, shoot......forgot.......Angelo also gave Tripp a bunch of tapes that Ava recorded to her baby while she was pregnant. Last we see Tripp......he is listening to the lst one...Hello, Son.

Haven't seen today yet, is it the same actor for Angelo?

Did we know Ava was an only child? Why did I think she had a sister? Maybe I'm thinking of Isabella and Marina (Steve's other forgotten wife).

Re the tapes, all I can think is "If you are seeing me now, I have been murdered." - Australian political joke (Spoiler: She's still alive, and back in politics).

As a fan of the Muppets I am officially declaring that I will not be referring to Hilary's sleazoid husband by his name, nor will I be using the fine art of alliteration to give him a fabulously witty nickname. He will simply be Hilary's husband. That is how outraged I am by having this lowlife creep share his name with one of Jim Henson's wonderful creations. *sputter*

If I'm wrong, and the inspiration for the character's name is a two-wheeled motorized vehicle, couldn't they have named him Moped?

So Claire still has Ciara's letter to Theo. Well there's no chance of that biting her on the backside at some point in the future. *sarcasm* Seriously, why keep it?

Here's an interesting casting tidbit: The actor who played Angelo's real first name is Angelo. I don't remember his last name. Back in the early 2000's he had a recurring role on "Young and the Restless" as another mob-connected character named you guessed it, Angelo. It kind of makes me wonder if he's told agent only send me roles for gangsters named Angelo. LOL

Just a few comments on various topics.

Misty Circle Redux: Fie in the harshest terms on the wretched writers for dredging up this repulsive plot. They could just as easily have had stupid Scooter say to Nicole: "I remember you. You were all over the news once. You're the babyswitcher."

Scooter: This loser looks less like than a college professor than Austin Reed or Dr. Trent Robbins. A character has to be pretty awful to trail Trent in any rankings. The writers should have have Brady say: Hillary, "Your husband is really a professor? He looks more like a layabout deadbeat who's too lazy to find a job."

Tripp gets rich: Really? By now, Ava's will (assuming she had one) should have been probated and the estate distributed. Did she have a clause in her will establishing a trust fund for any unknown offspring who might appear in the future? On second thought, this happens often enough in Salem that estate lawyers might want to suggest such a provision to their clients.

Theo: This reluctant romeo who'd rather talk about his science labs, brings to mind the very old song, The Piano Boy, which has a lyric that says: "The boy next door, he's silly as can be. He'd rather play piano than come out and play with me."

The actor's name is Angelo Tiffe. He played Angelo Razzano on Y&R from 2001-2005. Then Angelo Vitali on Days in 2008.

Makes it easy for him to remember the names of his soap characters.

DBF...I just told a friend about 15 min. ago, that.....(about a will for a non-existant child) and said you definitely had to chime in with that statement. I also felt her estate would have been disposed of, with NO living relative, unless Angelo was getting it???

And Troy, yes.......Claire did not destroy the letter, looks as though she hasn't even read it. guess she has not had a chance to actually dispose of it yet, (maybe)

I thought the same thing when they showed that Claire still had the letter. Destroy that sucker so they won't know you took it!! :rotfl: I do think it seems that Theo really does care for her. But these teens are annoying so I don't care.

I wish they would stop bringing up Nicole's porn past. Yeah, maybe if she had willingly made a porn movie, then bring up her mistake. But since her father drugged her and forced her, leave it alone!! Hilary is the nosiest annoying neighbor ever!! I thought Holly looked a wee bit small today. She's gotta be 3 months old at least?

Rafe and Hope just really need to end. They do not belong together. They don't even look good together. I see no chemistry. He's too much the little puppy with her.

And Tripp inheriting the Vitali fortune is a bit far fetched. And without so much as a DNA test? :huh:The one he took with Steve didn't verify that Ava is his mom. Crazy stuff.

Wait, when did Ava die? Doesn't it usually take a while to wrap up estates? My grandparents was pretty straight forward - very little to no debt, my mum is an only child - and it still took a year for everything to be settled. I'd buy it easier if Angelo said they needed to contest it or something, sign here, and 2 episodes later the money was his.
