Believing that the viewers are just wild over the Allie baby sweepstakes, the writers tease them with possible scenarios.

Sick of listening to Sonny complain about not getting the baby, Victor ponders the idea of consulting with Xander about kidnapping it for him.

Convinced that Allie has lost her mind, Sami consults with Marlena about possibly committing her to Bayview.

Lucas is so sick of Allie unfairly lumping him with Sami as a problem parent, he considers cutting her out of his will and leaving everything to Will.

Realizing that her memoir is a sales bust, Bonnie considers writing a lurid, unexpurgated history of the baby sweepstakes.

Hearing that Allie needs a new mother for her baby, Kristen writes to her, suggesting that she and Brady would be perfect parents.

The writers are thinking about dragging out the battle over Allie's baby and dangle some possible development before the viewers. All are based on Judge Rose Duncan declaring both Sami and Nicole unfit potential parents.

Victor offers the judge big bucks for her reelection campaign if she'll award the child to Will, Sonny, and their new puppy.

The judge is puzzled when she receives a message from somebody named Susan Banks declaring that Sami is not only unfit, but is also "mean, mean, mean."

The judge asks blunt-spoken Nanny Megan for advice on who should get the child. When consulting with the judge, Nanny Megan cannot bring herself to use the name Sami and "motherhood" in the same sentence. Instead, she says "S-A-M-I."

Since Sami's children were literally brought up the Pub, the judge assumes that Roman has plenty of parenting experience and asks him if he'd be interested in getting custody.

Thinking outside the box, the judge visits the Horton cabin to interview the raccoons to see if a cross-species child placement might be a good idea.

Unable to get away from the trite plot device of a character's health crisis, the writers float some new "ideas."

John Black gets an undercooked Brady Burger at the Pub. The shock of seeing very rare red beef puts him into a new coma.

John Black obsesses so much over Sami's past outrageous behavior that he has a breakdown and goes into yet another coma.

Jan Spears accidentally takes the drug she meant to give Abigail. After she's rushed to University Hospital, Belle angrily confronts Kayla because she is treating her mortal enemy. When reminded of Kayla's Hippocratic oath, Belle dismisses it as "just a bunch of words."

Fed up with Philip's high-handed, condescending ways, the cafeteria staff at Titan poison his food, which causes him to spend most of the rest of the day in the executive bathroom. Naturally, Victor and Philip blame Xander, which leads to some high-volume arguments at the K-Mansion as both Maggie and Sarah rip into the resident grouch and his son.

Steve has a critical health crisis related to the stress to his system of once having been turned into Steveano. With Kayla away, medical student Tripp rushes to the hospital to save his father. After Steve recovers, both Kayla and Sarah praise Tripp for his medical skill, saying that he's outdone even Love Doctor Daniel Jonas. When the news of his brilliance spreads though the hospital, Tripp becomes very popular with hotties in hospital gowns who insist that he should be their personal physician.

Kristen is in critical condition after being attacked by prisoners in the Salem jail. Worried that everyone at University Hospital is out to get her because of the Haley Chen incident, a distraught Brady desperately seeks another hospital or clinic that will admit her. He's infuriated when a receptionist at what used to be Dr. Baker's clinic suggests he try a veterinary hospital.

Aware that viewers think that they handle rape stories badly and that many of them don't like the idea that Trippy raped Allie, the writers float other possibilities to be the father of Baby Henry Lucas.

EJ: He's a proven rapist and isn't really incapacitated. When Sami is away, he sheds his Charmin wrappings, puts on an expensive suit, and goes trolling for young women in the bars and clubs in various European capitals.

Edmund Crumb: At loose ends since Susan Banks left him for Roger the Elvis impersonator, he too trolls London's bars and clubs looking for inebriated younger woman who are so drunk that they won't notice how old he is.

Max Brady: Life hasn't been kind to Max since he left Salem. He's developed a drinking problem and often visits bars and clubs looking for willing young women who are as drunk as he is.

James Bond: 007 isn't as charming or drop-dead handsome as he once was and goes to bars and clubs looking for women who are so drunk that like Edmund Crumb they won't notice that he's a member of the over-the-hill gang.

Ken Weston: Ben's identical British second cousin who has been handling overseas drug dealing and assorted smuggling operations for Clyde. Ken is a real mainstay on the London club and bar circuit and makes drunken young hotties swoon.

Since viewers don't seem to be too exited about Ava's return, TPTB float some possibilities that they hope the viewers might like.

Ava drugs Steve, which causes him to have an insatiable desire for her. Kayla responds by trying to get Steve admitted to Bayview.

After learning that everyone hates her son, Trippy, because of Allie's rape charges, Ava plans to get revenge against Sami's daughter and all those who believe her story.

When Ava learns that there is a new DiMera heir in town, she makes a move on Jake, but finds that he's too fond of granny sex with Kate to be tempted. Ava then makes the major mistake of plotting against the resourceful Kate.

Ava visits Dr. Rolf and volunteers to be the surrogate mother for his new Stefano embryo.

Recalling her hot affair with RoboJohn, Ava explores the possibility of somehow prying normal John loose from Marlena.

Ava seeks Justin's legal advice, but gets too friendly, which makes Bonnie her mortal enemy.

Days takes notice of the publicity Disney got by creating Baby Yoda, so they decide to add him to the cast.

JS, if they are going to start using pictures on the decorations, how about one for Xander featuring a picture of him shirtless. That ought to draw more viewers than Baby Yoda.

And because being Yodaish means telling things they way they really are, Lani is horrified when her new truthful twins first words include saying that Kristen is a horrible, amoral career criminal who deserves to be in prison. Next, they add that Daddy Eli is a fine police officer who was doing his job when he busted her.

Realizing at this late date that most viewers can't stand Gwen, the writers float ideas about her exit.

Gwen gets her wish when she destroys the Chad-Abigail marriage. Gwen subsequently leaves Salem in disgust after discovering that what she thought would be a hot, upscale romance with Chad is about as exciting as watching paint dry and that he's a real tightwad who watches every DiMera dime.

Jenny meets Gwen at the top of the Town Square steps and totally confronts her. In a rerun of the Nicole incident, during their heated argument, Gwen loses her balance, bounces down the steps, and ends up in a long-term, John-Black-style coma.

Gwen walks in on a hot Jake-Kate encounter once too often, has a mental breakdown, and ends up in Bayview where she can hang out with Jan Spears.

Giving up on Chad, Gwen makes a move on a willing Brady. As a result, she receives bone-chilling threats from the "changed" Kristen. Terrified, she moves on to Steve and makes a play for him, which leads to a truly frightening encounter with an enraged Ava. Fearing for her life, Gwen flees Salem.

Determined to get to the bottom of the Allie story, Steve heads to London for some serious sleuthing. There, he learns nothing about Allie and Tripp, but discovers that Gwen is wanted by the Metropolitan Police for several serious felonies. Much to the satisfaction of Kate, Jake, and Abigail, Gwen is extradited back to the UK where she faces long stretch in one of Her Majesty's prisons.

Xander crashes the Horton Christmas Eve gathering and brings his own ornament to hang on the tree. Suddenly none of the Horton ladies care about grieving Ben, laboring Lani or jealous Jenny:

Allie to Claire: Don't forget that he carried me to the hospital after the church explosion.

Claire: You lucky duck. Too bad he's my cousin.

Julie: Jennifer, did you call Jack to thank him for the lovely gift?

Jennifer: Jack, who???

Eli: Lani, I'm so glad we're back together.

Lani: What did you say? I was too busy looking at Xander's ornament.

Sarah: Hey ladies, back off, that's my man.

Philip: What???

Sarah: I mean, he's a jerk and I hate him, but he's still a nice piece of a eye candy, you know what I'm sayin', ladies???

Realizing that the viewers are not too happy over Jan being revealed as Charlie's killer, the writers brainstorm over a way to get rid of her ASAP.

John confronts Jan in the Town Square. As he rants at her, a shot rings out and Jan falls dead, the victim of a hidden Vitali assassin. However, Melinda tells Rafe to skip any forensic testing and immediately arrest John.

Sami too confronts Jan in the Town Square. The Screecher hits a particularly high note, which short-circuits Jan's brain. She immediately goes into another coma.

Out on bail, Jan decides to relax at Salem Beach where she pigs out on hot dogs and Bud Lite. As she wolfs down her food, she is confronted by an infuriated Xander dressed in a Speedo bathing suit, who is furious about the killing of his favorite intern. Terrified, Jan runs into the lake, gets a cramp, and goes under. Will Jan drown or end up in a coma? Tune in for the next episode.

Out on bail, Jan pays a call on Claire expecting to be praised for killing Allie's rapist. Instead, Claire does to Jan what she once did to Ben -- hits her over the head with a heavy frying pan. Not surprisingly, Jan goes back into a coma.
