Faux spoilers, part 9

Fun fact ("fun" loosely defined, that is): Re-Ron did a time travel story during his tenure on One Life to Live. At the time, I thought it was a clever way to work the story out of a plot hole rather than a gimmick. I'm not sure history has judged it as kindly.

Back to topic - Camila Banus (Gabi) will be leaving the show and returning in a blonde wig playing Arianna Horton, who will announce that DiMera Enterprises has been bought by the Horton House.

Wayne Northrop (original recipe Roman) is returning to play John Black's long-lost twin brother, Ron Black.

Matt LeBlanc (Joey/Friends) is going to join Days as Dr. Drake Ramoray and his twin brother, Stryker Ramoray.

Jennifer Aniston (Rachel/Friends) will join the cast as a newly SORAS'd Victoria Horton Kiriakis.

Courteney Cox (Monica/Friends) will join the cast as a resurrected Mackenzie Horton.

David Schwimmer (Ross/Friends) will replace the new kid playing Tate.

Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe/Friends) will replace the new girl playing Holly.

Matthew Perry (Chandler/Friends) will join the cast as a newly SORAS'd Thomas.

Maggie Wheeler (Janice/Friends) will join the cast as a newly SORAS'd Charlotte.

The appearance of Dick Van Dyke has inspired TPTB to bring back more faces from the past. Thanks to computerized animation, the fact that persons are deceased is no problem.

James Garner arrives in Salem as Maverick. He spends his days at the Pub fleecing the locals in poker games. Big losers include Stefan and Leo.

Steve McQueen comes to town to recruit EJ for his driving team in the dangerous 24 hour Grand Prix de Salem.

Sean Connery appears to offer his sleuthing skills to the hapless ISA.

Lassie comes to Salem just in time to save Tater Tot, who’s fallen into a well.

Andy Griffith arrives to give Rafe some important tips on small town policing. After consulting with Andy, Rafe fires Jada and hires Don Knotts.

Anthony Quinn as Zorba the Greek appears just in time to expose Konstantin as a fraud.

Knowing the viewers want more drama, the writers float some ideas.

Sick of Konstantin’s b/s, Xander sticks his head in one of the K-mansion’s toilets. (Henderson loves it.)

Brady orders Gwennie T. to quit pestering the Tot and let him enjoy life.

Sloan secretly contacts Sami about maybe taking in bothersome Baby Jude. (“Save the kid from the Bad Twin.”)

Sick of John’s self-guilt, Steve tosses him in an ice bath at the Salem Health Club.

Chanel freaks out when she hears that Leo will do a nasty column about her bakery.

Tater Tot feels sort of guilty for enjoying the Salem High mean girls’ verbal attacks on Holly.

When Rafe tells EJ that he’s the worst DA ever, Elvis takes a swing at him with predictable results.

Chanel has a crisis when she finds that the raccoons have eaten everything in the bakery. Insensitive Everett doesn’t help when he points out that she never fixed the hole in the ceiling.

Nicole sadly realizes that the baby she always wanted has turned into an annoying problem teen — she takes after her troublesome sister, Taylor aka “Tayhag” Walker.

The temporary writers have some great rehashed & remixed drama for the denizens of Salem.

After another health inspector with a grudge shuts down Sweet Bits, Chanel takes over the DiMera kitchen. Unfortunately, some spare brain chips get mixed in with the daily donuts, leaving Everett/Bobby with the personality of Renée Dumonde, Nicole with the memories and personality of Princess Gina, and Tripp with the brain of Pookie.

John, Steve, and Konstantin get the shock of their lives when Maggie reveals she was Catharina's mother via egg donation.

Jada and Stephanie are shocked to discover Jeremy Horton is in town. Jeremy is stymied by Jada's insistence that he is her ex-husband Robbie.

Julie's partially bionic DiMera heart starts giving her memories of a woman on a ski slope who may be connected to Sam Maitland.

Roman and Tony reminisce about growing up with Sandy Horton, David Martin, and neighborhood prankster Ernesto Toscano after the Martin mansion is burned down and Tate is blamed.

Expanding on that, after many flashbacks of the long term Salem adults as children/teens, viewers realize they are laying the groundwork for a spinoff, called L'il Salem, heavily marketed to youth to get a new generation addicted to the harmful effects of this nonsense.
