EJ and Sami are sitting at the Brady Pub, having lunch. They are discussing the latest roll out of new cosmetics. Sami is having a hard time not to laugh, "tough" EJ talking about lipstick, mascara, and blush. She is stiring her tea, and she sighs...
EJ: Is there a problem?
Sami: No. I just think you are not cut out for this line of work, that's all.
EJ: Oh, really? EJ Dimera cannot sell make-up? Is that your problem? Well, for your information, it's business. A huge money making business. It's better than selling illegal goods, now isn't it?
Or do you want me to go back to a life of crime?
Sami: NO. Of course not. I just think you need more of a challenge.
EJ: What could be more of a challenge that competing with Titan and Mad World? Making Kate the laughing stock of the cosmetics industry by defeating her with her former company? I think its quite a lot of fun, actually.
Sami: Kate. Speaking of the witch, and not that I really care...but where is she? I have not seen her in quite some time.
EJ: No. I don't really give a rat's patootie either. She's probably on some extending shopping trip. OR she is trying to figure out how to make a come back. She's suffered quite a few losses here lately. First, divorce. Then we gain access of Countess W. Then she is dumped publicly by that millionaire from Los Angeles (a little rewrite of history....CTG is not going to go the same route completely as the previous writers) I think she is somewhere licking her wounds, and making some plans to get back at us all.
Sami: Let's hope not. I'm tired of her antics. The longer she stays away, the better.
Oh, but you are both wrong. Kate Dimera is gone. But not of her own accord. In fact, she is being held in an undisclosed place against her will. Why? Hmmm...Remains to be seen.
The room she is being held in is dark, plain, and only equipped with a bed and a crude excuse for a toliet.

MAN: Oh, on the contrary. It is you that is going to be sorry.

MAN: Highly unlikely, Kate. You were dumped by the most powerful man in Salem. Maybe most powerful in the Midwest.
Kate: I don't need him to do my dirty work.
MAN: Maybe. But you made Stefano Dimera very, very angry. He doesn't forgive and forget. So whatever you think you can do, trust ME. He can undo. And make your life a living hell.

Sorry so late with this chapter, had tests this week! Enjoy!!!
Chloe Lane is back in town, already having ran into Daniel. She is concerned for her friend Nicole after the tough summer she had, but she isn't sure what to say. So she goes to visit the one person she believes can give her some insight on how Nicole is really doing, and maybe get a little encouragement herself. She rings the bell at the Kiriakis mansion...
Henderson: Oh, Ms Lane! Wonderful to see you. What brings you to Salem?
Chloe: Oh, I'm here to visit a friend.
Henderson: Mr Black, I presume?
Chloe: Well, yes. He's one of them.
Henderson: He's in the back by the pool with Ms. Dimera.
Chloe: What is he doing with Kate?
Henderson: Oh, sorry Ms.. I mean he's with Kristen Dimera.
Chloe: Kristen?? His father's former fiance, that tried to kill Marlena?
Henderson: I'm sorry, yes. The very same. How do you know of her?
Chloe: I was married to Brady remember? I used to have long talks with John and Marlena both. While I was trying to get some help for Brady. Everyone things I got him hooked on drugs. That was not the case. It started out with depression. I don't know what was causing it...But. Oh, I'm sorry Henderson, I shouldn't be telling you all this.
Henderson: Quite alright Ms Lane. We were never enemies were we?
Chloe: No! You make one heck of a hot chocolate. Those long nights I spent here, trying to sort things out. I appreciate you listening to me.
Henderson: Quite alright Ms. I enjoyed your company.
(Victor and Maggie are away on a special trip to celebrate their anniversary in Greece. And I want to clarify somethings that need to be noted in my version of this tale. Victor does not hate Chloe. He gained much respect for her when she was trying to get help for Brady - for his depression. He doesn't allude to the fact he cares, but he doesn't think Chloe is a *bleep*, nor Nicole. He's mellowed quite a bit with Maggie by his side. Don't worry - he's still got his snark. AND the most important part - yes Chloe had an affair with Philip, and YES Philip is Parker's father. She did go thru a real post partum depression after Daniel left her. BUT - she never was a prostitute, never tried to kill herself, etc etc. She left Salem after her depression was under control, to start a life with Parker, get her mind straight, and get away from the drama of Salem. She's singing professionally again, and not in some silly nightclub. No - she is back to singing opera. Philip doesn't want to settle down with her, but she wants him there for Parker. He is leary... OKAY! That's my brief history for MY story for Chloe.
Chloe departs Henderson and head toward the pool. She sees Kristen talking on her phone, Brady is nowhere to be seen. She walks quietly outside, kinda curious as to what is going on with Kristen. She didn't want to ask Henderson, but she was very interested to find out why Kristen Dimera was back in Salem after all these years, and what the heck Brady was doing with her. Or, Krsten was doing TO Brady...
Kristen: Yes, I'm fully aware of the situation. Everything will be ready to go within two weeks. I should have Mr. Black - both of them - taken care of by then. (she is talking to Stefano of course, but we cannot hear his side of the conversation) Yes! I know he's in Italy too. Don't worry. I know what to do. By the way (she smiles now) how is the baby doing? (pause) Wonderful!! That little boy will be so spoiled. Not raised to be poor white trash like he woulda been with Nicole...
Chloe's eyes widen, and almost gasps aloud when a hand is placed over her mouth...

Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Chloe is listening in on Kristen's phone conversation. She has a feeling Kristen is talking to Stefano. When she overhears the part about the baby..she is grabbed from behind, her mouth covered to keep her from making any noise...
Brady: What do you think you are doing?? If I let go of you, you promise not to make any sound?? (he walks her away from the door, and into the living room.)
Chloe: Brady! What are YOU doing? Why are you with that woman? And they have the baby! That means Nicole and EJ's baby is alive!
Brady: (he sighs, trying momentarily to think of a cover story...but realizes there is no covering this up) I can't tell you everything. Just know I'm working on something VERY important, and you can't mess this up. If Kristen knows what I'm up, and that I'm pretending to be head over heels for her, then it would be very dangerous. For a LOT of people. So, PLEASE don't say anything to anyone about this!
Chloe: Brady! Nicole thinks her child is dead! If that were to have happened to me, I sure as heck would want to know! Dammit Brady, any parent would! That is very cruel to keep her in the dark. How could you?
Brady: Trust me. This is going to get resolved. But we have to be very careful. You don't just go in half cocked on a situation like this, that involves Stefano Dimera. Do you understand me? Many lives ARE at stake.
Chloe: I don't...
Brady: Chloe... PLEASE. Trust me.
Chloe: (she sighs) I don't see how...(she sigh again) FINE. But I don't like this. Keeping something so huge from Nicole. It's crazy. Mean, and repulsive.
Brady: It's Dimera.
Chloe: Yes, it is. He is one evil nasty piece of crap to have done this to his own son. Wait a minute... Does EJ know his son is alive?
Brady: (shaking his head) No. He doesn't. It doesn't appear that he does, anyway. He's been too relaxed and worried about romancing my sister.
Chloe: I don't get it. Stefano keeping EJ's son away from him. That really doesn't make any sense at all. Do you know why?
Brady: I can't tell you anymore than I have. There are a lot of people working on this, and I can get into a LOT of trouble for telling you what I have. So, understand...it is extremely important for you to keep quiet about this. Now. Why are you even here? Not just the mansion, but in Salem?
Chloe: (she laughs with sarcasm) I came here to check on my best friend. I felt bad that I wasn't able to be here when Nicole lost the baby. I wanted help her out...and now I find out there is more going on! I haven't seen her yet, and I decided to talk to you first to see how she is doing, what I could or could not say to her to help. Now I find I must keep a secret about her child!!! This is beyond ridiculous, Brady Black!
Brady: I'm sorry. I really am. Was never my intention, but I'm following direction from someone I have to help. It's imperitive I keep a lid on this, and do what I've been instructed. Which is keep an eye on Kristen.
Chloe: Oh, please don't tell me you are working for the ISA?
Brady: (he noticed from the back doors that Kristen is on her way back in from the pool) Sssh. Chloe! It's so good to see you back in town! What brings you here?
Chloe: (her eyes widen, but she understands quickly Brady is covering, and that Kristen is on her way in) Well, I had some time off from work, and I wanted to come visit some friends. I miss Salem, Philip has Parker for a few days, so I wanted to see how Nicole is doing.
Brady: (Kristen is now in the room) Kristen! You haven't met Chloe - my ex wife.
Kristen: Well. Hello there, Chloe. I must say, your photos do not do you justice. Very nice to meet you. ( Her eyes don't convey friendliness, however)
Chloe: Nice to meet you. (her voice is flat and cold) Brady, I'm so very sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but I just remembered I was to meet Maggie at the Brady Pub, and she's probably already there waiting on me. We can catch up later, okay?
Brady: (kisses her on the cheek) Sure, sure. That will be great.
Kristen: Oh yes. It would be lovely for us to catch up. You can tell us all about your wonderful life in Chicago! (drips sarcasm)
Chloe: (smiles innocently) Yes. I would love to get to know you as well, Kristen. And how you managed to turn your life around after kidnapping people and attempting murder. It must be an amazing story. I can't wait to hear about it.
Brady: (gives Chloe a BE QUIET look) Give my regards to Maggie, would you?
Chloe: Of course. Ciao.
With a glare to Kristen, Chloe leaves.
Kristen: Wow. Is she still hung up on you?
Brady: No. We parted ways amicably. She moved on a long time ago. She's just very protective.
Kristen: Obviously.
Brady: Now, what do you say we go back to the pool and relax?
Kristen: Relax? I had something better in mind...
Brady: No...(warding off her kisses)
Kristen: Brady Black! Why do you keep turning me down? Are you not attracted to me? (feigns a hurt look...but Brady knows of course, her advances are all an act, as part of her plan to get back at his father.)
Brady: Kristen, I want this to be special. I don't want to just hop into bed with you. I want a meaningful relationship. I've jumped into bed too fast with my last relationships, and I don't want to make that mistake again...
Kristen: I still say you just don't want me...
Brady: (he sighs) I do. I really do. Please, please realize...I lost my fiance in a horrible accident. And I don't want to talk about the details...but suffice to say, I don't want to get hurt again... (he draws her close for a hug, and she looks *bleep* over his shoulder, and he looks distracted...he knows he cannot be convincing much longer about his love for her if he keeps refusing to make love with her...)

Saturday bonus...
Chloe leaves the mansion so terribly conflicted. She wants to trust Brady and whatever it is that is going on behind the scenes. But, as a mother herself...she is torn up inside that Nicole does not know her child is alive. She knows the heartache of loss. She could not begin to imagine what it would have been like if she had lost Parker. She gets tears in her eyes, and thinks of her friend crying her eyes out over the baby.
Chloe: I'm so sorry Brady. But this has gone on too long. Nicole has to know.
Chloe heads to the townhouse where Nicole resides (yeah...she's not staying in a silly hotel room like half of Salem does on the show now) and is determined to make things right...
She knocks on the door...and hears a male voice besides Nicole's inside.
Nicole opens the door...
Nicole: Oh my God! Chloe!! What are you doing here? (she grins happily, but then sees the serious look on her friend's face) What's wrong, is it Parker?
Chloe: No..no. Parker is fine. I wanted to come see you...(Nicole escorts her into the living area...this townhouse looks a lot like the wonderful penthouse with the staircase John and Marlena shared years and years ago...) There is something serious I need to tell you.
Nicole: Um well...it's not exactly a good time.
Chloe: This can't wait, Nicole. You have to know this...
Just as Chloe is about to speak, Rafe walks in.
Rafe: What is so serious? Good morning, Chloe. Surprised to see you here.
Chloe: Oh, wow. I'm sorry Nicole, I had no idea the man in here, would be, Wow...Rafe. I heard a male's voice...but I'm not thinking clearly. There is some huge information I have for Nicole...
Rafe: Do you want me to leave?
Chloe: No, actually. I think you both should hear this. I think you might be able to help, Rafe.
Nicole: Chloe, you are scaring me a little. What do you know? Tell me!
Chloe: (she sighs) I'm not supposed to tell you...but God. I don't know how to tell you this, but just blurt it out. Nicole, I just found out your baby is alive...

Chloe has told Nicole and Rafe what is going on, but she is met with skeptism. She's got a lot of explaining to do, but she doesn't know much, obviously... what can she say?

John: And you believed her? Dear God, Brady! I know you aren't that big of an idiot! She's going to run straight to Nicole with the information and I can bet on it!
Brady: Well, what do you want me to do? Go all Dimera on her and kidnap Chloe and Nicole, keep them from Italy?
John: That's what I would do. And don't forget son, we do have Dimera blood in our veins.
Brady: Yeah don't remind me. I have to remind myself that Kristen was adopted, and I'm not really flirting/teasing with my cousin.
John: The only redeeming factor in all of this is at least we have some Brady blood. Anyway, geneology aside, we need to control this wonderful new situation with Chloe. I don't care what you have to do...just do it.

John: Don't matter. We have to make sure this operation doesn't fall apart like so many times beforehand. I'm getting too old to run around the world like James Bond.

Well this is a fine mess. But nothing ever goes smoothly when a plan is in the works for the good folks of Salem now does it? No, but it seems to come together and work out. OR, it used to. That's what I am betting on. Chloe Lane has blabbered her gums off to a very determined woman, and now Rafe is involved. What on Earth is going to happen once they put their heads together? Will they help, or makes things worse in Italy? Hmmm...
We are back with Bo Brady and his entourage, been a long time since we've seen him...er, read about him in this story. Wonder what he's up to?
Bo (on the phone with Hope) Yeah, I'm sorry Skype isn't working right now. Be sure to give Ciara a kiss and hug from me. I love and miss you both very much.

Bo: Any thing different coming out of the EJ Dimera camp?
Hope: No. He's still shacked up with your niece. They're busy playing house and being make up moguls. I tell you what Brady - you are really going to owe me big time. Oh - wait. I think I've got something. (she leaves to listen in on the bug/wire she has installed in EJ's house.

WHEW! All these budget cuts, I can't seem to have the "show" on everyday. No wonder the show doesn't film on location anymore. This trip to Italy is EXPENSIVE. Heh. Just kidding...with the holidays, I've had a lot of stuff on my plate..not to mention school. Sorry I didn't put up a chapter yesterday. My bad. But I won't quit on ya'll...I promise! John Black is more than upset with Brady messing up and letting Chloe overhear what Kristen said. Now, how why or who could have prevented Chloe's ears from overhearing what she heard...but John Black is mad nonetheless, and he must blame someone. He's meeting with Shane, Bo, and Steve (at a very nice house, where Shane is heading up the operation..) to see what their game plan is...and someone else is pretty dadgum mad over the latest bit of info...
Shane: What do you mean, Chloe knows??? Chloe Lane, the former opera singer? Good God man, let's hope she doesn't sing like a canary with this latest bit of information to Nicole Walker..
John: I'm afraid she has sung already...
Shane: WHAT???
Bo: (looks down at his feet) Yeah, man. I'm afraid she did. And now...EJ knows.

Well, our heroes in Italy are discouraged somewhat. All except for one. He's decided to make the most of this new development, and shares his ideas with his counterpart, and boss.
John: Shane, I know you think involving anyone from the outside is risky, but I think we can most definitely use this to our advantage
Shane: John, we've worked together for quite a few years. You know I trust you. But look how many times we've tried to take down Dimera. I don't want anything or anyone to complicate matters, or cause another well laid plan to fail. I'm supposed to be retired. I promised Kimberly. And now I'm back yet again. I don't think she'd stand for me to get involved with Dimera again if we can't put him away for good this time.
John: I completely understand. But please, hear me out.
Shane: I will listen, but I won't promise you I will go along with it.
John: Well, we know Chloe is one heck of an opera singer.
Shane: True enough...
John: We also know Stefano is an avid opera lover.

John: Shane, I know you think involving anyone from the outside is risky, but I think we can most definitely use this to our advantage
Shane: John, we've worked together for quite a few years. You know I trust you. But look how many times we've tried to take down Dimera. I don't want anything or anyone to complicate matters, or cause another well laid plan to fail. I'm supposed to be retired. I promised Kimberly. And now I'm back yet again. I don't think she'd stand for me to get involved with Dimera again if we can't put him away for good this time.
John: I completely understand. But please, hear me out.
Shane: I will listen, but I won't promise you I will go along with it.
John: Well, we know Chloe is one heck of an opera singer.
Shane: True enough...
John: We also know Stefano is an avid opera lover.
Shane: And?
John: IF we can get Chloe over here, on the premise of guesting in this country to sing...
Shane: And you don't think Stefano would see right through that?
John: No. Not if we do this RIGHT. There's more to the plan that just Chloe.
Shane: I don't think so...she's from Salem, she's friends with Nicole Walker...Stefano would easily figure out what's going on.
John: Not if we involve someone else, that Stefano trusts with his life...
Shane: He doesn't trust ANYONE that much.
John: Sure he does..EJ.
Shane: I don't think he does. If he did, he would have let EJ know about his children.
John: He doesn't think EJ would cross him. Even as angry as EJ has been at the old man, Junior has always loved him. Or so Stefano believes...
Shane: (heavy sigh) We need to think about this some more, look at every angle, and I mean every angle.
John: We can make it work...I know we can...
