Am guessing that being fired by Hope is what causes Rafe to call in Shawn.

Just love how soaps make a character get distracted so they are not aware of test results, thus they can be destroyed (as in Gina deleting the results of the cigarillo butts which I.D. Steve Johnson) sigghhhh.
 
And, as Gina is too stupid to think of this, all they have to do is request another copy of the results. She should have CHANGED them, so that would throw them off the path for a while. STUPID!

Gee last year, no-memory Jack and Evil Eve took on Jennifer and soon-to-be fruitcake Dr. Shah. This year Stoneface-Steve and Two-Faced GinaHope take on Kayla and bad-lawyer-by-day/Justin-by-night, my SPECULATION. Let me guess, next New Year will be I-am-Bonnie-not-Adrienne escorted by Will, just as Sonny is about to marry Evan.

I guess you could say it is a "new tradition" because you never know who is going to show up. The odds are that whoever shows up is not who they appear to be. Of course, most of Salem is in a state of confusion now so it's best not to confuse them anymore than necessary.
