That's about it. Once a person is legally declared dead, that's it, they're gone. Their estate may live on without them (like the Elvis or Michael Jackson estates), but that's all. However, if the death itself was a fraud like the person who drives to the beach and leaves a pile of clothes on the sand, fooling everyone into thinking he/she has drowned, then all bets are off. In Zero's case, there was no fraud, so he was deader than Marley's ghost. His marriage ended when he was declared dead, so serving Gabba-Gabba with divorce papers is wretched excess. The same goes for his distributed property. If he left Little Johnny $50,000 in his will and it was all spent on wine, women, and song, that money is gone. Zero can't get back like it was some kind of debt. The same would probably go for his DiMera shares, but as others have pointed out, the Salem laws covering decedents' estates are truly unique.

The powers of Salem don’t really know if Stefan’s alleged death wasn’t fraud. Some of the fake deaths have been fraud. Do you just take his word for it? I don’t know if divorce papers are required, but they should make sure his coming back doesn’t mean they’re still married. Do the others who return from the grave have to remarry? Like when Abigail came back from the dead? I think she and Chad were still married.
 
In the absence of evidence of fraud, the deceased person is considered legally dead, finished, done. If somebody now suspects that Zero's death was a fraud, they'd have to gather their evidence, get a good lawyer (not Belle, EJ, Justin, or Sloan), and then head for court. As for Chad and the formerly deceased Abigail still being married, the fact that Salem's laws and legal system are distinctly unique would apply.

One of the many things that puzzle me about Days is why, why, why, does everyone in Salem want that one person who does not want them. Kristen is a nutcase, but her obsession with Brady has made several round trips over the top. For a long while, years ago, she was fixated on John. I guess if she can't have the father, the son is the next best thing. Icky.

It's just that old wash, rinse, and repeat style of writing. We call him ReRon for a reason,
 
Hmmmmd, so Chloe is aware that Kristen has been doing everything under the sun to break up Brady & Chloe, Marlena is dying, Suddenly she gets serum that puts her on road to recovery, Brady breaks up with her, and she has NO CLUE??? Give me a break? Not even a guess? Sheesh.

Now why would that serum work for Marlena, and not for Kayla?
Days really over does the unrequited love scenario, doesn't it. Kristen evidently is just an "obsessive" junkie. Now she has waited for the baby she took care of to grow up so she can obsess over him? She needs a long stay in Bayview.
