Tess bemoaned her house-cleaning and janitorial jobs, and Pete suggested they didn’t have to be in a hurry to move to California. Tess wondered if Pete didn’t want to go with her and realized that Melissa was the reason. Mickey and Melissa went to a movie together. Mickey told Melissa he was concerned about her interest in Pete, and he wanted her to stay away from him. Pete called Melissa to ask her if Mickey gave her a hard time because of him. Maggie caught Melissa on the phone with Pete and told her that Pete was bad news. Melissa asked Maggie how Chris could see something special in Pete if he was so horrible. Maggie said she had asked herself that question but still didn’t have an answer.

Eugene surprised Marlena by picking her up for work in his cab. Roman was riding in the back seat and was disguised as a truck driver. Later, the two returned home. Bo brought Shawn over, and Marlena and Roman broke the news that Roman was alive. Shawn was overjoyed and wanted to shout the news from the rooftops, but the Bradys made him realize that he could only tell Caroline. Shawn asked if Alice knew, and they said no. Shawn figured it was only a matter of time before she found out. After Bo and Shawn left, Roman and Marlena began to kiss. Roman asked what the neighbors would think if he left his truck outside. Marlena laughed and said they would think she was having an affair with the milkman. Then the milkman carried her upstairs.

Roman and Marlena were together upstairs when Alice let herself in the house. Marlena rushed downstairs to greet her. Alice was concerned when she learned Marlena got sick and left work early. Marlena assured her that she was fine. Alice noticed warm milk jugs on the table, and Marlena said she forgot to put them away. Bo arrived and acted funny, causing Alice to sense that something was up. Bo saw the milkman hat on the couch and managed to hide it before Alice saw it. Alice asked why Marlena was getting her milk from a different dairy all of a sudden, but Marlena said the milk was on sale. Alice left, but she told Bo she wanted some answers from him later. Bo told Roman and Marlena that an autopsy showed that Dr. Hillary, the doctor on call the night Stefano died, did not die of a heart attack but was poisoned – and with the same poison used on the Slasher’s knives! Roman couldn’t figure out how all leads kept pointing back to a dead man, Stefano DiMera.

Tony visited the prisoner in the dungeon and taunted him about his lovemaking session with Anna. He removed the prisoner’s helmet/mask, and the prisoner was revealed to be the real Tony DiMera! While Tony was imprisoned in the dungeon, his cousin Andre had had plastic surgery and was impersonating him in order to do Stefano’s bidding and wage war against Roman. Andre was frustrated after running into Liz, who wanted to reminisce about their time in Europe. Andre wanted Tony to give him details about his marriage to Liz, as well as what Anna wore the night of their Las Vegas wedding. Tony was uncooperative. Delia arrived with sandwiches and prevented Andre from fighting with Tony. She reminded him that Tony was to be kept in good health. Tony finally relented and told Andre he would give him the information he wanted.

Tony didn’t want to give Andre information about his past, so Andre prepared to use sodium pentothal to make him tell the truth. He warned Tony that too much of the drug could prove fatal over time. Tony gave in and told Andre what he wanted to know. Tony told Andre that he was as much a prisoner as Tony was, and warned him that he could only ever be a mimic. Tony reminded Andre that while Andre only spoke one language, Tony spoke four. Andre told Tony that after his assignment at the benefit concert was finished, he would assume Tony’s life permanently. Andre ordered Delia to put the mask back on Tony, and chided Tony for not being nicer to him when they were growing up.

Larry picked up Hope to take her to dinner. She saw Bo and Diane at Shenanigans when she went down to pick up her work schedule from Danny, and Diane told Bo she couldn’t wait for him to get home to her. Hope went to Doug’s Place with Larry and asked him how he felt about her. Larry told her that wasn’t a fair question, because she had made it clear she only wanted to be friends. He told her that he really liked her, and she told him that she really liked him, too. She told him she would even campaign for him in the next election. Larry called Diane and told her to be at Shenanigans when he returned with Hope, because he wanted her to drop more comments for Hope to hear. Larry warned Diane that if she didn’t do what he said, he would tell her pimp where she was staying. Marie didn’t look happy sitting across a table from Howie at Doug’s Place. While listening to Liz sing, Hope was thinking about Bo.

As Larry and Hope walked through Shenanigans on the way back to her apartment, Diane told Danny that she didn’t know how to tell Bo she might be pregnant. Hope heard her and rushed out of the place. Larry was there to comfort Hope, who couldn’t believe Bo could move on so quickly. Bo knocked on the door to tell Hope he was not happy about seeing her around town with Larry. Hope was furious at Bo and told him she wasn’t serious about being through with him until tonight, then revealed that Larry was there and offered to have Larry toss Bo out of the building. Bo left, and Hope asked Larry to kiss her. Larry pretended to want to wait, but then kissed Hope. He told her they couldn’t rush things and left. Hope turned on the radio, and the song “Almost Over You” began to play. As Hope listened to the song, she was thinking about Bo.

Bo went to Roman and Marlena’s house, and he and Roman planned to go to Tony’s basement and dig through the trash for clues. Alice showed up at the house and demanded to know where Roman was. Marlena and Bo pretended to be surprised, but Alice saw Caroline baking Roman’s favorite chocolate angel-food cake with almonds, and she realized Roman had to be alive. Roman revealed himself to Alice, who was overjoyed to see him. Later, Alice accompanied Marlena and Bo to Doug’s Place and reminded them that they needed to look believable as mourners. Bo headed for the tunnel, and Alice was surprised to learn there was a tunnel at Doug’s Place. Tom caught Alice at the restaurant and was not happy that she was acting suspicious again. Alice told Marlena she would ask Roman later if she could tell Tom. Alex approached Alice and Marlena.

Roman and Bo played a tape for Marlena and Eugene. On the tape, Alex told Gwen that he went to his safe deposit box and found that his cash was gone. In its place was a note that read, “Sorry, my friend, but your cash has flown away on the wings of Phoenix.” Eugene remembered that Alex once worked for Stefano, and there was a phoenix on the baka. Marlena reminded everyone that Stefano was dead, but Roman suggested another DiMera could be involved. Roman had to hide when Hope arrived. She was cold to Bo, who left. Hope told Marlena she wanted to return her friendship by being there for her. Marlena thanked her and wanted to talk about Bo, but Hope didn’t want to discuss him. Marlena told Hope she had to go to Eugene’s, and Hope promised to see her again soon. Roman and Marlena worried about Bo and Hope’s strained relationship.

Pete told Melissa he would not be joining her and her parents for dinner because he didn’t have anything to wear and he didn’t want to be watched all night. Melissa was upset because Mickey and Maggie wanted the dinner so they could try to understand why she liked Pete. She feared that if Pete didn’t show, she wouldn’t be allowed to see or talk to him anymore. Melissa talked to Hope about it. Diane called for Bo, and Pete didn’t know where he was. He asked Hope, and Hope thought Diane had asked Pete to ask her. Hope grabbed the phone and told off Diane. Later, Hope made plans for a romantic dinner with Larry and Melissa agreed to loan her one of Maggie’s jazz albums. Hope was on her way to the store when Pete showed up looking for Melissa.

Pete admitted to Melissa that the reason he didn’t want to go to dinner was because he wouldn’t know what to do – which fork to use, when to eat. Melissa promised Pete that it wouldn’t be that fancy, because it was going to be at her house, but she showed him how forks are arranged and offered to teach him before dinner. Pete agreed to go. Hope was frantically trying to prepare a meal for Larry, and Melissa tried to help her when she noticed chaos in the kitchen. Melissa loaned Pete a book on etiquette, and Hope fantasized about becoming the wife of a future lieutenant governor, senator, or maybe even president if she were to someday marry Larry.

Don wanted to check on Marlena, but Alice tried to make him leave. Don became irritated by Alice’s strange behavior. Marlena came downstairs and told Don she was fine, but he didn’t want to accept that. Don saw a cake inside a cake dish and started to lift the lid, and Alice scolded him. Don felt rejected by Marlena, but told her he was there if she needed him. Don left, and Marlena told Alice she hated having to lie to her friends. Alice lifted the lid to reveal that the cake was a birthday cake Caroline made for Roman. Eugene arrived with a new invention – a monitor to help track where the signals for the surveillance equipment are going. Roman and Eugene agreed that while Roman and Marlena were celebrating his birthday, and the killer watched, Eugene would be tracking the signal.

Marlena and Eugene went to his house, and Marlena pretended that she hadn’t seen Roman in a while. Roman came out of the basement and greeted her. Eugene apologized for not having any leads on the Salem Slasher and complained of seeing Trista every night. While Roman and Marlena put on a show for the killer, Eugene drove around Salem trying to pick up a signal.

Don told Maggie that he was worried about Marlena. He said that Marlena got upset with him and almost threw him out of her house. He said Alice was acting strangely, too. Maggie suggested that Alice felt guilty about Roman’s death and was being overprotective of Marlena, but she agreed that she was worried about her friend. Pete arrived for dinner with Melissa, Maggie, Don, and Mickey. Pete offered Maggie a bottle of wine as a gift. Maggie accepted the wine, but Mickey told Pete that Maggie was a recovering alcoholic. Chris was unable to make it because he had to drive Tess to the hospital to see her and Pete’s father. Mickey questioned Pete about not being at the hospital with his father, but Pete asked to change the subject. Pete followed Melissa’s every move at the table. He tried to help clear the plates and spilled a glass of wine. Don tried to help Pete relax while Maggie and Melissa cleared the table, but Mickey was hard on Pete and questioned him about his future clearing tables. Pete was fed up with Mickey’s hostile questions and took off. Melissa was upset when she found out Pete left, and she wanted to know what Mickey said to him.

Melissa caught up with Pete on the pier. She told him she was sorry to hear that his father was sick. Pete said he couldn’t visit him in the hospital because he couldn’t just pretend that the past never happened. Melissa asked why Pete ran out after dinner, and he told her that Mickey had it in for him. Pete thought he made a fool of himself, but Melissa disagreed. She told him that Maggie was disappointed he missed dessert. Melissa asked Pete to go to her high-school dance, and he agreed. Pete and Melissa passed Hope and Larry on the way to the car.

Dr Chip, Im new to this board and am LOVING these clips. PLEASE keep them coming!!! Much appreciated for all the hard work you are putting in also!

Alex vs. Howie over Marie

Alex & Marie – Nick Fallon’s Grandparents – 4/4/84
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eToIwmHedVA

At Shenanigans, Anna teased Alex about pining after Marie. Alex denied it but explained that he still had great respect for her, as she was the mother of his daughter, Jessica. Howie joined Marie at her table, and Alex sparred with the detective over Marie. Howie asked Alex what he did for a living, and Alex sarcastically told him he wrote sleazy detective stories. Marie went to Alex’s house for a drink. Alex gave her a hard time about her choices in men. Marie insisted that Howie was only a patient, and they were stuck in a motel room together during a blizzard. Alex reminded her of her involvement with another jerk, Neil, and Marie reminded Alex that she was married to Neil and loved him very much. Howie showed up and asked Alex how he came to afford his mansion, and Alex said he won it in a lottery. The two men continued to take jabs at each other until Marie announced she was leaving . . . and walking home.

I liked Marie, too. Do you remember the storyline where Marie married Neil, who ended up having an affair with Liz? Neil had to go to the hospital, and Marie came home early from her trip (I think to see Joshua and Jessica). Liz thought there was an intruder in the house, and she shot Marie. Which led to Liz going to jail, trying to marry Neil, the other prisoners trying to break out during the wedding, Liz getting shot and developing amnesia . . . those were some wild times!

I remember that. I loved the Liz and Neil wedding. I liked Liz and Neil together and was upset when they broke up. I has so happy when they had Noel and was sad when she was sick.

Pete won't go to the dance

Pete & Melissa - 4/4/84
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMnsQwtP0lc

Pete changed his mind and told Melissa he couldn't take her to her high-school dance. Melissa was angry and didn't want to talk to Pete. After a friend of Melissa's told Pete that Melissa was going to go with someone else, Pete grabbed the key to Bo's apartment and dragged Melissa down there. When they got there, he wouldn't say anything. Melissa started to leave, then accused Pete of not taking her to the dance because the Vipers didn't like her. Melissa reminded Pete that Speed made fun of her the day before for being too skinny. Pete said Speed made fun of everybody. Melissa asked Pete if he thought she was too skinny, and he said he thought she was okay. Melissa told Pete that one day he was going to have to make a choice, between the Vipers and everything else.

I remember that. I loved the Liz and Neil wedding. I liked Liz and Neil together and was upset when they broke up. I has so happy when they had Noel and was sad when she was sick.

I too loved Liz and Neil and little Noel. I do so miss the old Days.

As Roman realized that Stefano was alive, Stefano realized that Roman was playing games with him and was privy to the projection equipment in Eugene’s attic. Petrov returned to serve Stefano and agreed to capture Roman. Stefano told Andre that he was one step ahead of Roman, having planted listening devices in Eugene’s cab and Alice’s house. Andre asked if Stefano had bugged Roman’s house and bedroom. Stefano said no, because a husband and wife’s marriage bed is sacred and should be privileged. Andre reminded Stefano that, although Roman might be out of touch with his ISA friends who helped him escape the explosion, he was still working with Bo and Eugene, but Stefano suggested they were useless. Roman told Marlena he would be gone for a couple of days. Eugene gave Roman the baka, and Roman prepared to let himself be captured by Stefano’s goons in order to get to Stefano. Eugene worried about Marlena and Bo’s reactions, but Roman told Eugene not to say anything. Roman and Eugene worried about Marlena, who became dizzy and fainted. Alice called and wanted to check on Marlena because she noticed she wasn’t looking well.

After Roman left, Alice dropped by to check on Marlena. She gave her multivitamins with iron, calcium, and herbal tea. Alice admitted that Tom was getting upset with her and starting to believe she was senile. Marlena laughed that that would never happen, then burst into tears. Marlena said she didn’t know what was wrong with her, because Roman had only been gone a few minutes and she missed him already. Alice comforted Marlena but urged her to see her doctor and get a checkup.

Marlena was still feeling sick as she waited to hear from Roman. She realized Eugene knew something, but he denied it. Howie arrived to talk to Eugene, and Marlena tried to pump him for information. Howie privately told Eugene that if Roman didn’t contact them in a couple of days, Bo should tell Marlena what was going on. Marlena felt nauseous, and Alice called Neil. He agreed to see her and asked Alice if she thought Marlena had the flu. Alice said no. As hospital nurses began to gossip about the good Dr. Evans, Neil broke the news to Marlena that she was pregnant. Neil was embarrassed to break the news to her, but Marlena was ecstatic. Neil was puzzled since Roman had been dead for two months and Marlena was six weeks pregnant. Marlena rushed out to tell Alice the news, but Neil warned that Alice might be shocked.

Marlena told Alice she was pregnant, and Alice was thrilled. Tom and Sandy arrived, and Neil told them Marlena was six weeks pregnant. Eugene realized the problem and claimed that he was the baby’s father. Everyone was in shock, and Tom was angry. Eugene and Marlena went into Neil’s office to be alone. Tom and Alice joined them, and Tom asked if Eugene and Marlena were ready to do the right thing for the baby. They agreed they were, and Tom said he was glad they would be getting married. Alice found Howie and asked him to tell her how to contact Roman, because Marlena needed him. Howie said he had been searching for Roman, but he and Bo had had no luck. Howie asked for Marie’s phone number in Chicago, and Alice gave him the name of the hotel where she was staying. Alice asked Howie not to tell Marie she told him, and Howie agreed to tell Alice the minute he learned anything about Roman. Marlena suggested that they pretend to get married so that she wouldn’t be a bigamist. The doorbell rang, and Marlena rushed to the door to greet Roman with the news. She found Maggie instead and told her. Maggie was thrilled, but was in shock when Eugene announced that he was the baby’s father.

Alice, worried about Roman, wanted to call the police and tell them that Stefano was alive and Roman was innocent but missing. Marlena refused and reminded Alice that the police would shoot to kill, and that Abe, Bo, Howie, and Eugene could handle things. Tom arrived and wanted to make sure Eugene was prepared to marry Marlena. He said he was, and Marlena said she only wanted a small ceremony with a justice of the peace. Maggie told Marlena that nurses were gossiping about her, and she wanted it stopped. Marlena wasn’t worried about it, but Maggie believed a marriage to Eugene would calm the gossip. Tom left, then returned. He announced that he thought they could be married tomorrow. Alice tried to stall Tom, but he told her to go with him . . . to see Judge Hastings!

Hope was happy to be in her own apartment now that Doug and Julie were away on an extended cruise. Hope helped Melissa get ready for her high-school dance. Melissa tried to convince Hope that she was happy Damian would be taking her to the dance instead of Pete. Mickey arrived to take pictures for him and Maggie. Meanwhile, Pete figured out how to wear a tuxedo and gave himself a hard time when he spilled cologne on his shirt. Melissa was waiting for Damian when Pete arrived in his tux. He gave Melissa a corsage and complimented her gown. Melissa complimented Pete as well, then asked why he was there. Pete told her that Damian would not be showing up.

At Shenanigans, Eugene teased Marlena about carrying his baby. She told Eugene not to joke like that, but he reminded her they had to keep up the act in public. Eugene asked if she wanted a nickname, like Sweetpea or Sticky Buns. Eugene told Marlena that he really did love her, and she said she loved him, too. Alice tried to discourage Tom from contacting his J.P. friend. Tom became angry and told Alice not to argue with him. He told her that Roman would be pleased. Eugene and Marlena were stunned when Tom, Alice, and the judge arrived at Eugene’s house for the wedding. Tom insisted that they get married right away. Marlena asked Alice why Tom was doing this to her, and Alice told her it was because Tom loved her. Meanwhile, Roman returned to Eugene’s cellar. Roman was shocked – and Stefano, eavesdropping on his monitor, was greatly amused – to listen as Marlena and Eugene were married by the justice of the peace!

Tom, Alice, and the judge left, and Roman came up from the cellar. Marlena was thrilled to see that he was okay, but Roman wanted answers when he realized the wedding was real. Stefano, watching everything via monitor, told Delia to come into the room and watch; they both laughed at Roman and Marlena. Roman sent Eugene on an assignment. Marlena tried to explain to Roman that she had to go through with the wedding because Tom was insistent and she didn’t want to reveal Roman’s secret. Stefano’s monitor faded out before he could hear Marlena’s explanation, but Marlena promised Roman it was a good one.

Pete drove Melissa to the dance. He admitted that Damian was missing spark plugs and a distributor cap, and had flat tires. Once at the school, Pete didn’t want to go inside. Melissa said she was comfortable with just hanging out with Pete. Feeling awkward, Pete took Melissa to a drive-in for burgers and shakes. He wondered what her friends would think when she didn’t show up. Melissa wondered how much Pete paid for his tuxedo. He told her it was expensive but worth it. Pete figured Mickey and Maggie would be furious when they found out, and Melissa planned on not telling them. Pete was angry at Chris when Chris’s car ran out of gas.

Roman was shocked but thrilled to learn that Marlena was pregnant. She explained how Eugene claimed to be the father and Tom practically forced the wedding on them. Roman vowed that he would clear his name before the baby was born. Eugene dismantled Stefano’s surveillance equipment, then alerted Bo and Abe that Roman was back. Bo and Abe went to see Roman and learned that Marlena was pregnant. They, too, were shocked to learn that Marlena married Eugene and was now a bigamist. Roman told them he was kidnapped by Stefano, blindfolded, and driven around Salem. He said Stefano warned him that the game was not over, and Roman worried that others in Salem were about to be affected by Stefano’s madness. Roman and Marlena spent the night together, and he suggested that she leave Salem until Stefano was caught. He told her that he expected everything to be over within a matter of weeks, maybe even days. He asked her to go on a honeymoon with Eugene, and Marlena refused. She reminded Roman that he couldn’t be there for her last honeymoon, and she wasn’t going to spend another honeymoon without him.

Pete and Melissa hung out at the park while waiting for someone to bring gas for Chris’s car. Pete struggled with feelings of low self-esteem as Melissa tried to get close to him. Melissa asked Pete if he wanted to kiss her, but Pete avoided the question. Later, he took her back to Hope’s apartment. Before leaving, he kissed Melissa. Pete was ecstatic afterward. The next morning, Maggie caught Pete at Shenanigans and told him to stay put because she had words for him. Maggie went upstairs and pounded on Hope’s door. Hope let Maggie in, and Maggie demanded answers from Melissa. Maggie said that Damian’s tires were slashed, and he saw Pete do it. When Melissa confessed that she was out with Pete last night, Maggie accused her of lying and grounded her for one week.

Maggie confronted Pete as Melissa, Chris, and Tess arrived. Chris was livid when he realized Pete slashed someone’s tires. Maggie told Melissa that she was not to see Pete ever again, and Melissa told Maggie she would not stop seeing Pete. Tess told Pete to leave Melissa alone and suggested that Melissa was the reason Pete was constantly getting in trouble. Pete was touched that Melissa stood up to Maggie because of him, and he apologized to Maggie. Chris later accused Pete of stealing money from the register and the waitresses in order to afford the tuxedo. At the park, Maggie asked Melissa if she would continue lying to her in order to see Pete. Melissa told Maggie it wasn’t fair to forbid her to see him. Maggie told Melissa that Pete had already hurt her, because he had damaged her relationship with Maggie. When Maggie told Melissa that she was now grounded indefinitely, Melissa asked if she would be allowed to dance at the hospital benefit. Maggie said that would be up to Mickey, because dancing in the benefit was a privilege that Melissa hadn’t earned. Melissa warned Maggie that if she was not allowed to dance in the benefit, she would never forgive Maggie.

Eugene gave Roman a tranquilizer dart to use against Stefano. Roman took a job as a security guard at a warehouse, hoping to get closer to Stefano, and Marlena noted that the warehouse was near the concert hall where the hospital benefit would be held. Marlena worried about Roman’s safety, but he assured her that Abe and Bo would be providing backup. Roman said goodbye to Marlena and told her to take that trip he wanted her to take. Marlena and Roman shared a tearful goodbye, and she told him to hurry back.

At their wedding, Liz sang “Always on My Mind” to a beaming Neil. A young, infatuated Carlo also was beaming as he watched the new Mrs. Curtis sing.

Stefano lectured Andre about his slip-ups, and Andre was defensive. He reminded Stefano of his miserable childhood and how he looked up to his Uncle Stefano while being despised by Stefano's children (??), especially Tony. Andre reminded Stefano how he used to comfort him when Stefano was depressed about Daphne taking Tony away to Australia. Andre realized he wouldn't get Stefano's love and acceptance, but he planned to get everything else that was Tony's. Stefano told Andre he was chosen for his capacity for hatred and greed.

Stefano tormented Tony via video monitor. He called him his "******* son." Stefano told Tony that he had placed Daphne in a mental institution in Florida. Tony warned Stefano to leave Daphne alone. Tony also threatened Andre that he would get even with him once he was free of his chains.

Andre continued to taunt Tony. He told him that they had retrieved the baka from Roman, but also had a new key to the dungeon in the form of a wheel off of the robot invention.

Andre continued his mind games with Tony, who had a hard time understanding why Stefano would order his own daughter's death. Andre explained that he was the one who decided to kill Renee when she figured out he was not really Tony. Through flashbacks, Andre recalled murdering Renee with the poisoned knife and raven's feather.

Figuring she would find Daphne’s jewels, Anna went into the secret room and was shocked to find the prisoner wearing a mask. She tried to get away, but the prisoner grabbed her and forced her to look at a message he had chalked on the wall: “I am Tony DiMera.” Anna was very confused.

Anna believed Delia was responsible for the prisoner being in the dungeon. He wrote her a note saying, “Anna, please have mercy. You loved me once. Get the key to the mask. I am Tony DiMera.” He wrote her another note saying that “Andre” had the key to the mask, but Anna didn’t know who Andre was. He also wrote to her that he knew she had a mole on her left butt cheek. Anna suggested going to get “Tony” so he could help. She fled from the room and closed the door, right before Andre arrived. Anna didn’t say anything to Andre, but he knew she was acting strangely.

Anna stole the key from Andre and slipped out of bed to go to the dungeon. She opened the mask and saw Tony, but she still wasn’t convinced he was Tony. She wanted to go to “Tony” (Andre), but Tony warned her that Andre was an impostor and would kill her.

Tony tried to convince Anna that the other Tony was an impostor, Tony’s cousin Andre who had had plastic surgery. Tony asked Anna to test Andre to prove that he was a fake. He reminded her that he wore glasses and told her that Andre didn’t. He told her to ask Andre why. Anna noticed cameras in the dungeon, but Tony assured her that she was not being watched or his jailer would already be there. Anna asked who was watching him, and Tony told her that Stefano was alive. Anna didn’t believe him, but she began to test Andre anyway.

Anna told Tony that she tested Andre, and he didn’t remember slapping her the day they went out on the boat and she admitted she tricked Tony into marriage. Anna still refused to believe that Stefano was alive, and she wanted to test Tony himself – with a kiss. She still had trouble making up her mind, and Tony urged her not to continue going to bed at night with a killer next to her.

Anna agreed to Tony’s request to test Andre again. She got a cat and surprised Andre with it. Although Tony had no problems around cats, Andre was very allergic to them and began sneezing. Anna had her answer.

Anna Refuses to leave Tony

Anna was locked in the dungeon with Tony and was stunned when Stefano arrived to greet her. Stefano also revealed that Roman was alive. Stefano told Anna that she would have to play along and behave, or Tony would be killed. Anna was hysterical when Andre locked her up with shackles.

Anna went to lunch with Andre and pretended that he was Tony. He told her that he really did have feelings for her, and Anna flirted with him. Later, Anna tried to convince an angry Tony that she was playing the game in order to fool Andre and save Tony.

Petrov caught Roman and tied him to a chair. Stefano arrived and told Roman that the game was almost over, and that timing was everything. He refused to give details but assured Roman that he had a major role in the finale. Stefano and Petrov left, and Bo and Eugene arrived and found Roman. Roman told them that the finale to the game would occur nearby, in a place of “mystery” and “fantasy,” as Stefano put it. Roman phoned Marlena to let her know he was okay. Roman asked Eugene to make sure Marlena left Salem for a while.

Stefano went onstage at a vacant concert hall and practiced conducting Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” as Roman spied on him. When Stefano finished waving his baton, Roman pulled a gun on him. Unfortunately, Stefano’s thugs arrived and overpowered Roman. Stefano told them to take Roman away, as he would be their guest again for the next few days. He warned them to be careful, though, because Roman was very clever.

Stefano planned a dinner with Roman and asked where Marlena was keeping herself. Roman told him that Marlena was out of town. Then Stefano allowed Roman to watch another dinner via video monitor – Tony (Andre) and Anna with Marlena. Roman tried to escape but was captured again.

Roman was furious to see Marlena talking with Tony (Andre) about the benefit concert and warned Stefano not to hurt her. Stefano asked Roman if he had ever wondered why upstanding Tony had begun killing people. Roman said yes, and Stefano laughed as he revealed the real Tony on the monitor – chained in the dungeon. Roman was stunned.

Delia revealed to Tony that Stefano’s plan was for Marlena to be killed during the hospital benefit at the concert hall. At Shenanigans, Anna tried to speak with Chris but was stopped by Andre. Later, she tried to write a note asking for help, but Andre showed up again and then Pete cleared off the table and took the piece of paper with him.

Delia and May laughed about Alex handing out a $1 million check and not actually having the money. Tony urged Anna to protect herself and get away, but she vowed not to abandon Tony. Tony told Anna that Stefano was planning to kill Marlena. Anna wanted Tony to trust her, and Tony reminded her that she had been anything but trustworthy in the past.

Nick Corelli circa 1984 – 4/23/84

Larry caught up to Diane, who was working at Shenanigans. He asked her for more information about Bo and Hope. Diane said Hope and Bo were finished and that Bo wasn’t interested in Hope anymore. She also said that Hope was through with Bo. Larry didn’t believe her. He threatened to tell her pimp where she was unless she got him the information. Diane begged Larry not to do that. Larry asked Diane what Bo had said about his former girlfriend Megan Hathaway. Diane said that Bo never talked about her, and that he hadn’t seen her in a long time. Larry ordered Diane to find out where Megan was. Diane’s pimp, Nick Corelli, saw her go to Bo’s apartment and followed her. He slapped her and told her she was going back to work for him. She offered to give him half her paycheck from Shenanigans to avoid working on the streets, but he laughed at the pay cut that would mean for him. Diane was angry that Larry told Nick where she was, and Nick told her he had never spoken to Larry. Nick was interested in the fact that Larry was blackmailing Diane, and Nick figured out there was a reason Larry was so interested in Hope. He told Diane to find out that reason.

Bo & Hope – 4/26/84

Melissa told Hope that Bo was looking at a newspaper, said the word “Megan,” and rushed off. Hope remembered that Megan was an old girlfriend of Bo’s and that he said her name in his sleep a couple of times. Hope admitted that she still had feelings for Bo, but she told Melissa that their relationship was definitely over. Pete congratulated Melissa, whose name appeared in the newspaper with the others participating in the benefit fund-raiser for the hospital. Melissa was surprised to learn that Hope was moving out of her apartment and back to Doug and Julie’s place. Hope said that she was tired of running into Bo and Diane, and that it wasn’t fair for Larry to have to run into Bo, too. Hope told Bo that she was moving and returned the book of poetry that Shawn had given him. She told Bo that if there was any chance at all for them to be together, she would camp out on his doorstep, but she knew that wasn’t the case. Hope said goodbye to Bo, but she burst into tears when he left. Hope told Melissa to tell Diane that she wouldn’t be a problem for her and Bo in the future. Melissa was excited to learn that the Russian conductor Serge Anatol would be conducting the orchestra while she performed.
