Eugene’s robot was not enough of a distraction, and Petrov still managed to hold Eugene, Tony, and Anna at gunpoint. Marlena gave her speech and introduced Alex, who tripped on his way onto the stage. Alex was close to being drunk and gave a long-winded speech that included how wonderful Renee was. Gwen commented to Chris that that wasn’t the Renee she knew. After Alex concluded his speech and started to leave, Marlena stopped him because the check was unsigned. Alex signed the check on Marlena’s back as Andre, dressed as Roman, made his way down a corridor toward the stage. Meanwhile, Roman finally arrived at the concert hall and fought off several of Stefano’s thugs. He was chased through a parking garage by several men, but Bo arrived on his motorcycle and helped fight them off. Bo headed one direction, and Roman went the other one.
Andre (impersonating Roman) ran out on the stage with his knife and lunged at Marlena. A drunken Alex got in the way, and Andre tripped and fell. He dropped his knife, then gave up and escaped through the trap door. Maggie and Mickey frantically searched for Melissa as Neil ran off to find Liz. The audience started panicking, and Chris told everyone to calm down and quickly move out the doors to the reception area. He told them not to leave and not to move their cars, because security would have everything under control. Stefano was livid and confronted Andre, calling him a "blithering idiot." Stefano vowed to blow Andre to hell with everyone else. He then revealed that he never planned to let Andre get away, because he was going to get revenge against Andre for murdering Renee. Andre tried to make a run for it, but Stefano’s goon stopped him. A stage manager pointed Marlena to an old prop room that hadn’t been used in a while. Bo asked Neil to stay with Marlena, and Neil agreed. Liz went back to the stage to help direct some of the people to the right exits. As Marlena and Neil opened the door to the prop room, Andre rushed out. Bo got in his way, so Andre punched him in the gut and took off. Bo chased after him. Marlena told Neil that that wasn’t Roman. She explained that Roman was alive but innocent, and that he had been framed by Stefano, who also was alive. Marlena asked Neil to go find Abe, and she promised to lock the door. Neil left, and Marlena locked the door. When she turned around, Stefano was there. “We meet again, lovely lady,” he said. “For the last time, I hope.” Stefano’s goon grabbed Marlena and wouldn’t let her leave. “Stefano, you’re insane,” she said. “Ah, why does everybody jump to the conclusion, simply because I am more clever than they, that automatically that makes me insane, hmm? Do you have an answer to that, my lovely psychiatrist?” “I’m not your lovely anything,” Marlena retorted. “You’re my lovely prisoner.” “Where’s my husband?” “Somewhere in the city.” “You don’t even know, do you?” “Well, we had a perfectly nice ruse to lure him here to the concert hall. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. Now, would you please sit down?” “No, I don’t want to sit down. I want to know where Roman is.” “I said SIT! Now. You’re not going to leave this room, Marlena. In fact, it’s very possible that many people are not going to leave this concert hall. But we still have a little time.” The bomb continued to tick. At the penthouse, Petrov shot the robot. Anna tried to sweet-talk Petrov, and then she and Tony staged a fight about her believing Andre was Tony. Eugene sneaked around to the remote control, but Petrov caught him and told him not to move.
In Las Vegas, Larry serenaded Hope under the stars. At the Salem Concert Hall, Roman and Andre met up on the stage and began to fight. Abe appeared but couldn’t tell which one was Roman. Both men claimed to be Roman, but Roman pulled Andre’s wig off. Andre ran away. Abe fired shots at him but missed. Chris calmed the crowd, and Gwen was impressed. Mickey, Maggie, and Marie couldn’t believe Roman tried to kill Marlena. Alex gave interviews to reporters about being the hero of the night. Marlena asked Stefano not to hurt her and told him she was pregnant. Neil returned and knocked on the door. Stefano told Marlena to send him away or Neil would be killed. Marlena tried to make Neil keep looking for Abe, but Neil refused out of concern for her. The goon grabbed Marlena and re-locked the door as Stefano stepped forward and confronted Neil. The two had words as Neil realized Stefano was behind all of the murders. He told Stefano that he wasn’t afraid of him and reminded him that he failed the last time he tried to kill him. Neil called Stefano “a maniac” and “evil,” and Stefano laughed at the word “evil,” seeing as how Neil married that “****,” Stefano’s ex-daughter-in-law, Liz. Neil lunged at Stefano, and the goon hit Neil over the head with a gun. Abe warned Roman not to let anyone see him, or he could be shot and killed. Roman agreed to hide up on the catwalk and asked Abe to make sure Bo didn’t get hurt.
Anna and Tony continued to argue. Eugene finally got the remote and activated the robot, which started smoking. Petrov fired his gun, hit a glass, and caused a secret compartment to open up. Anna started squealing when she saw what was in the compartment – Daphne’s jewels! Anna put a necklace around her neck and a bracelet on her arm as Tony grabbed the gun. Eugene called the police station and told them there was a bomb at the concert hall, but the officer figured out it was him and hung up on him. The officer then decided to call Abe, just to be safe. Marlena asked Stefano not to kill all those people. Liz arrived and wanted to talk to Neil. Marlena lied that Neil went back to the reception and asked Liz to leave so she could lie down. Liz left. Stefano’s thug alerted him that the others were still looking for Andre and would make sure he didn’t get away from Stefano. Tess was annoyed when she saw Alex hitting on all the female reporters, so she left. Gwen told Chris to go after her, so he did. Chris talked to Tess, who asked if Sandy was Chris’s fiancée. He said no. Alex flirted with Gwen, who told him that she didn’t go out with men who were broke. Gwen asked what Alex would do when his check bounced, but Alex smiled, patted his coat pocket, and told her they would have to find it first.
In the desert, Larry sang to Hope. She kissed him. On the way to the concert hall, Anna asked if Tony meant the things he said to her while they were fighting in front of Andre. He told her he didn’t. Marlena asked Stefano what the metronome was for. Stefano toyed with Marlena, who asked him, "When you were a little boy, did you pull the wings off flies? Or were you ever a little boy?” Stefano told Marlena the metronome was connected to a bomb. “You’re going to blow up the concert hall? With all those innocent people?” “Not all innocent.” “Stefano, please, I’m begging you. Please stop it.” “Well, you see, the special thing about this metronome is that once it gets started, it can never be stopped. Now, if the bomb squad were to discover this device, they could never deactivate it.” “The baka!” “Yes. The baka. It is the only thing that can turn this metronome off. The baka. The very spirit of my revenge – revenge against those who have hurt me.” “But why?!” “Why?! You, of all people, ask me why?! You, whose husband was a stumbling block when I tried to build my empire?!” “He was more than a stumbling block for you! He outwitted you!” “Outwitted me?! Ha!” “He stopped you cold, and you know it!” “Temporarily.” “And he’ll do it again!” Stefan told Marlena that his plan was foolproof this time. "What’s that? To kill Roman and hundreds of innocent people?” “Innocent people? No. Roman? Yes.” “And you think that will get you your empire. Is that it?” “It isn’t what I think. It’s what I know. You see, originally Salem was going to be my base of operations. Now it seems that it’s not feasible, so I will operate from my island paradise.” “Why this thirst for power?” “If you have never tasted the nectar of power, my dear doctor, you will never know. There is nothing like it. Besides, it is my destiny.” Marlena reminded Stefano that others thought that way and failed, but Stefano reminded her that they were madmen. "If I were mad, would I say it? Or could I say it? No, my dear doctor. You see, only a sane man can say that he is mad." Stefano told Marlena that he was on his way out of Salem, "and I anticipate a very pleasant journey. And, you know, I certainly hope that you also have a pleasant journey.” “Stefano, please. I’m begging you. Please stop this now.” “Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Please, do not despair. My dear good doctor, perhaps your husband, the stalwart and brave Sergeant Brady, will come riding in on his white horse and save you at the 11th hour. If the police don’t shoot him first.” Tony, Anna, and Eugene ran around the concert hall, letting people know there was a bomb in the building. Tony, knowing Stefano would never let Andre escape, went to find his cousin. Roman met up with Abe and Eugene, and they talked about the bomb and the need to find Stefano. Some Salem PD officers showed up and pulled their guns on Roman. Abe jumped in the way and yelled at them not to shoot!
