Don't care. If Maggie were childless, I might care, but she has two daughters. Two young women she cared for and help raise. They have been off canvas forever. They could come back as "new" characters.

Bring back Daniel Rafael if you want to bring back someone.

Psycho Mermaid Summer's father? No offense, but who cares? That said, because of her mental problems perhaps it's Andre. As for the writers, they deserve a booby prize for foisting yet another possibly unknown child on some hapless Salemite. The Summer plot is afflicted with a very bad case of been-there-done-that. If the writers wanted a character named after a season of the year, they could have had Lucas's old Hong Kong fiancee, Autumn, arrive in Salem and seek to connect with her old love. In the alternative, they could have had a new, cheerful, intelligent, well-adjusted high-school student named Spring arrive to inject some badly needed life into Salem's dreary, ultra-boring, and ultra-dysfunctional teen set.

Or, they could've gone with a story of royalty and had Princess Summerfall Winterspring from Howdy Doody:

When I first heard the name Summer, I was hoping she was somehow related or connected to Lucas' girlfriend when he was off-screen, Autumn, and that would give him more of a front burner story, trying to get Autumn to come to Salem.

Okay, aside from the fact that Days pays absolutely NO attention to character history anymore, this doesn't even begin to make sense! Until the whole story about the cryogenics lab and Maggie's missing eggs, Daniel thought that the folks that raised him were both his biological parents. Turns out, just his dad was. But he didn't know any of this until after he was in Salem! How the heck did Daniel get the impression that he and Summer were brother and sister??
