SPOILER !! Week Feb 4

I, though I thought Mr. Mascolo (Stefano) did a terrific job, could accept a Stefano recast. But I think the character is not needed anymore. He had been on too long, in my opinion, there was nothing for him to do, really. So I doubt TPTB would bring back Stefano. Though who knows what they're thinking, right?
 
Have accepted and defended many recasts, which are done all the time. Linda probably said it better than I did....Joe Mascolo owned that character, just as Deidre Hall owns Marlena, Drake Hogestyn owns John. don't ever want to see a recast of any of them. Just as we would never have wanted to see recasts for Tom & Alice.
 
I don’t think I would watch anymore if they recast Stefano. The actor who made the role and that family legendary has passed. If the actor just didn’t want to do the show anymore, that would be different. I don’t want anymore recasts at all right now honestly. Most recent recasts have felt like completely new characters. You look forward to the return of a character and they come back unrecognizable. That seems wrong to me unless there is a good story to go along with it.

I wonder.. just thinking... if the writers had some ideas for Paul and John, that got thwarted when the actor that played Paul decided to leave the show (correct me if I'm wrong, I believe I remember he left/just decided to pursue other things). Perhaps, they needed a new "kid-John-didn't-know-about" so they can have a new duo (John and Leo) to use their ideas with.

who knows. I don't like it in the least... I don't think John needs anymore surprise sons...period... but the above scenario is the only thing I can think of that might be the reason the writers would do this again.
 
Well, the actor who portrayed Paul left because of working on an animated Star Wars movie...but he recently posted a video clip of himself in the Days hall, but saId he just dropped in there to say hello...but no one there. It was odd. (evidently a closed week)

I can picture Leo's mom insinuating John could or is Leo's bio dad, but I think it would be a scam if she did.
 
Poor Ben gets blamed for anything and everything......
You know.........I hope, truly, that Leo was already married when he blackmailed Sonny into tying the knot.......cuz "a big secret" of Leo's ........hmmm, they all know he was an "escort/prostitute", a blackmailer, a liar.....so since it is Leo's secret, and not Diana's....hmmmm again.
 
I thought I had read some time ago that Thaao Penghlis (Andre) was going to return as Stefano. It could make for an interesting recast.
