Departing

It does seem odd that the show won't up the appearance guarantee. All the actor asked was that the character not be relegated to filler with an appearance only a couple times a month. And they cannot come to terms with that. We already see how little he is on....which is what the show does when writing a contracted actor out of the show. We only see Steve in the square, where he seems to spend his time.
 
Right! And though I'm definitely biased here, I know I'm not alone in wanting to see more of them. I follow a lot of Days accounts on Twitter, and my feed is clogged with messages from fans to give Steve and Kayla a storyline (and bring back their kids).

Treating the vets like set extras, bringing horrible stories to the forefront like the Brady/Theresa custody thing and Kate bedding yet another slimeball. It's almost like TPTB actually want this show to fail sometimes.
 
This is just my prediction but I don't believe Steve (Stephen Nichols) will be gone long. Unless he signs back on with GH but fans have been pretty vocal.

I always knew Vivian would be back despite her million protests that she wouldn't.

I was right about Bo eventually coming back.

I'm hoping for three times lucky and that the people in charge at Days will secretly film Steve and say something like, "we listened to fans......". Blah blah blah.
 
Well, you can tell from my avatar, which I have had forever, whose side I am on when it comes to Steve & Kayla. Years ago, I was flipping channels, saw this blond dude with the eye patch, stopped as intrigued, and I still am, all these years later.
 
It wouldn't be so bad that some of the older couples do not share as much air time if TITB (the idiots that be) would start making younger couples more solid in their coupling with the beginnings of supercoupledom. But it seems they do not want long term anything.

While I'm on a rant, I'm probably the only one, but I DO NOT have a need to see a super big wedding wasted on the 100th wedding for Marlena and John.

Wouldn't it be novel of them to have a big beautiful wedding for a young couple that has super couple potential? First they have to keep a couple together long enough to become an item before being a super couple like we use to have before TITB decided to keep couples on a rotisserie spinning on to the next relationship.

Ok, I'm done for now.
 
soapkitty - they don't do big weddings anymore. Only the best man/woman and maid/man of honor show up. Everyone else is not available. The only thing great about "big" weddings is the interaction of folks who normally don't interact with each other. It would be nice to see Ciara and JJ at the wedding. Or Eve talking with Roman.

But even though I am a John and Marlena fan, and am looking forward to a wedding, a huge affair, really??

I'll go a step farther. I don't need or desire to see any kind of a wedding for Marlena and John. I like each of them and I like them together but weddings/marriages on Days seem pretty much meaningless to me. Also, I don't see the point in having multiple weddings. On the positive side, a wedding will be better than a lot of stories or scenes they could be showing. Much better than watching Stefan threatening somebody or Kate and her latest lover.
 
I understand your point, and certainly agree about Stefan and Kate. But anything that will give me story about Doc (Marlena) is OK by me.
