Fall Preview

I know the dream thing has been done in prime time. Has it been done in daytime?
The ad says it's never been done in daytime.

I thought of St Elsewhere when we found out at the end all of it was something in boy's
imagination.

Melaswen?

And Jason, going back to 2012 mean no Holly, no Ari, no Tate, and Stefano alive, along with Daniel, Caroline. And lots more. Would not like that at all.
Not necessarily; a clever writer could explain away the mistakes and keep the mostly-good stuff. Let's say Will wakes up and has been living his life this whole time, but had this "crazy, intense, very realistic dream" where some things were right, but some things were wrong.

I'm not advocating for it, and I hope it isn't any sort of dream and really is something new and original. But I haven't liked any of their one-off episodes, going back to the silly movie Valentine's Day misadventure in 2016.

Well, I certainly don't want any dream, and going back 7 years .......you can't have some things and not others.
However.......there IS maybe a way to change some things...........ala Quantam Leap.....where the person was able to "become" some other person, back in time, x amount of years ago, and thus being able to change something. Scott Bakula (as Dr. Sam Beckett) became male, female, all different ages ...and no, he did not use masks. Other actors portrayed the characters........but being Scott knew how something turned out, could make a different choice. I used to love that series. At the end of an episode, back in real time, with the changes in place.

We must have been watching different Quantum Leap shows. Sam jumped in to the next episode at the end of each week's episode. He was informed by a hologram named Al and a computer "Ziggy" on to whether or not his actions had effected the desired outcome.

And even time travel wouldn't be new for daytime. Even Ron (Carlivati, head writer) knows that since he was head writer during One Life To Live's second time travel adventure.

I'm wondering if the big twist that no one saw coming is that this is all a dream of Hope who has been in a coma since her attack from Aiden and Bo is waiting for her to wake up.

There is a lot of crazy going on and it leaves nothing really for speculation, you simply can't do much here at all because it does appear that a lot of the storylines are gonna end up someone's dream. There appears to be a Halloween episode so I assume Jordan in a sexy nurses outfit with Claire will be in that episode. Princess Gina I think may actually be part of a storyline instead of just a one day visit for a Halloween episode.

I think the writers are finally seeing now us fans are not appreciating the "Passions" style storylines that make Days out to be a C rate Sci-fi thriller. So maybe Ben is NEVER a serial killer! It could have ALL been a dream, and Eve will have Paige back as well. Dr. Rolf bringing people back from the dead could not be true, I hope they finally make it all a BAD dream!

I just find all these shootings too absurd to be real! Kate being shot by Vivian and I take it either Lucas, Austin, or Will are going to be suspects in more than likely Stefan's death. I also heard something about Eve being another suspect in offing Stefan if that's the case. Vivian will likely be hauled off to prison shortly after she arrives in Salem. For all we know, Stefan DiMera may not actually even exist in reality. Victor trying to kill Ben with a necktie also does not seem real.

Do we know for sure (as sure as anyone can be before they change it) that Stefan REALLY is a DiMera or could Viv be lying? Also, I read some speculation that the thing that has never been done is not erasing the past stories, but time traveling FORWARD a year or more. By then, everyone would have accepted that Ben is a good guy, Chad and Abby will be back so Jack and Jennifer won't need JJ anymore, Sarah and Xander will be raising "their" child (who will be in kindergarten by then), I don't know what else. That sounds just as stupid as all of a sudden the show starts by having everyone in Salem getting out of the shower and greeting.

There was a DNA test. But you know those are results are printed on toilet paper, for how reliable they are on soap operas. As of right now, though, yes, he is a DiMera, unless/until the writers change it.

At the time, Abby pulled a hair from Stefan's head...gonna take it straight to Kayla to test. Andre insisted on going to hosp. to meet her with the hair, along with Vivian. so Kate insisted on going, too. At hosp., Andre ditches Kate, telling her to watch, make sure they were not followed. So he & Viv take the hair to Kayla. And nothing to stop them from substituting a hair from Andre. The lab said DNA from hair proved it related to DiMera.

So...it is open to retcon something if they want.

I'm not sure what to say about the preview. I've also seen speculation on twitter of a time jump. If that happens, I'm guessing it's just enough time for the pregnant character(s) to give birth. But I'm also wondering if the twist has to do with Rolf and Kristen. Maybe cloning or something.

No interest in Princess Gina. I really hope that is just part of another Halloween dream.

I'm not putting much stock in Jordan as we haven't seen a lot of the actress on set so to me it seems she is only there short term. Way to tease us with Claire. I am however tired of Ben being painted as a hero.

In all fairness, no birth control is 100% effective. I know several people who used everything you can use and still were blessed with little bundles.

When I was in grad school, a classmate of mine got pregnant first semester even though she was taking the birth control shots which were supposed to be like 99% effective. Fortunately, her husband worked from home so she didn't really miss a beat when she gave birth.

I think that might actually be new; I can't think of a show that did that (a forward, linear story acceleration, that is). I've always thought this was a good idea and a way to do some SORAS without the insult to viewers' intelligence.
Maybe cloning or something.
That wouldn't be new.

Here's what would be new: Julie actually dying from the heart attack instead of some last-minute miracle cure. That never happens to long-term veterans or legacy characters. (Or when it does, it's sudden and not part of a story.)

I don't think it's been done on a soap, but I know it was done on the Ghost Whisperer. The one season ended with the main character pregnant. Then the first show of the next season, their son was in kindergarten. I didn't watch the show when it first aired, just in syndication, so I thought I had missed several seasons.

I keep thinking about the show Manifest and its 5.5 year time jump at the beginning. For those who don't watch, the lead family was coming home from vacation in Jamaica and got split up onto 2 flights. The 2nd plane was presumed missing and crashed. But then all of a sudden it landed as if nothing had happened. But 5.5 years had passed.

If the twist is a time jump, I don't think it will be more than 6 months but Ron seems to like to copy or reuse ideas so that's what made me think of Manifest.
